The Coptic Church actually doesn't have any seminaries at the moment, although that is changing rapidly. I'm not sure about political correctness either, I can think of other churches that are less politically correct, e.g. the Russians. Pray for us. You're right about liberation theology though.

The original church or community of the East before the Great Schism comprised:
    * The Greek churches founded by Saint Paul.
    * The Antiochian and Asia Minor churches founded by Saint Peter.
    * The Coptic (or Egyptian) churches founded by Saint Mark (including, at the time, the Ethiopians of Abyssinia).
    * The Syriac (or Assyrian) churches in Upper Mesopotamia founded by St. Peter and St. Paul in the 1st century.
    * The Georgian church, traditionally founded by Saint Andrew and Saint Nino.
    * The Armenian church, founded by Saint Jude and Saint Bartholomew.
    * The church of Jerusalem, founded by Saint James, as well as the churches of Samaria and Judea, together comprising "the Holy Land".

current pope has a leftist bent to him but the church continues to proclaim what it has for the past 2000 years. secularism has taken over entire west including many protestant churches that have essentially done away with Christian teachings whereas the catholic church continues to teach what it always has and hasn't buckled under the pressure as vast majority of churches have.

Hilarion but also the Stretensky Monastery choir -- I've known and loved the Russian tradition of the Orthodox Divine Liturgy for some 37 years--but for one thing: Why, Oh Why are so many Russian composers addicted to 3/4 time--Somehow the Trisagion doesn't seem quite so holy when it's a waltz! Are we in Moscow, St. Petersburg-- or Vienna! :-)

What Lemko Cossacks are you talking about? Cossacks dont divide each other into a "type" of Cossack. A Cossack is a Cossack. I am sure they did a wonderful job protecting the icon. Dont forget, Cossacks were always protecting Christianity. We all owe them a great thanks for all the work they have done to save orthodoxy.

"Mass" is not within the terminology of the Orthodox Christian Church, which has a beautiful term of its own for its Eucharistic Service, the Divine Liturgy.

    • @eduardovalentin9416

Mass, is actually a perfectly fine term to use. It certainly carries with it western connotations, but it merely means "a leavened cake". Maza, is actually originally a greek word which latin borrowed! It also means to be sent, i.e. the great commission of our Lord.

Whether it is called Divine Liturgy or Holy Mass does not really matter. What matters more is the great beauty, holiness, sanctity, and devotion of the divine worship.
The Holy Apostolic Churches of Christ, Eastern and Western, Catholic and Orthodox, have been separated for 1000 years by a terrible Schism. This Schism is a terrible sin against God and the Holy Trinity. Christ commanded "That All May Be One". He was talking about His Church. And this MUST BE SO!

    • @patrickmartin8783

The churches who split off due to their heresy is an offense and terrible sin to Christ. Don’t be an ecumenist. All other “churches” that are not Eastern Orthodox are heretical and false, and if you want a United Church, then all other “churches” must repent and return to the faith of the apostles

eastern and western churches were distinct long before the arbitrary date of 1054, not only there were constant fissures and squabbles but also distinct hierarchies, theologies and rituals for centuries prior to the schism. These churches lived very separate lives, cut by an iron curtain of language, there was never one spotless church, if you think you can fix a division that has been constant foe centuries then i dont know what to say.

It is a shame the Christianity turned into this idolatry and materialistic uniforms. Very sad that someone may think God appreciates it, especially when Bible calls it a sin. This is worse than what Jesus said about Pharisees and sadukees. It’s seems they took the worsts sins from Jewish priests at the time and implement it in orthodoxy.
