- Nasi Kandar Kampung Melayu is one of the best spots for Nasi Kandar when you visit Penang.

This spot is considered a hidden gem (why we say hidden gem? It's because we almost got lost looking for it!) It is a humble restaurant located in one of the flats in Kampung Melayu, Air Itam, Penang. This place is popular among locals, Malaysians from other states would travel to feast on their Nasi Kandar, and it can get crowded especially during the weekends.
You'll be surprised that this seemingly heavy-looking dish of Nasi Kandar is served for breakfast from 6.30 in the morning! But if you're not a morning person like us, don't worry, they're also open during the evenings from 4pm to 10pm.

Those are the tiniest squid! Ufff... that chicken leg looks soooo good. That fish head is HUGE! Another great spot guys.

Chunky cat fish!! Serves with that yummy sauce!! Very fulfilling dish w the rice!! Tender looking meat!! The cabbage goes very well together!
The meats here are so fresh, you could still taste the natural sweetness of the meats. Especially from that fish.

Yum nasi kandar! Would be pretty substantial for a breakfast 😅 full till dinner most likely. So much curry 🍛 must be full of flavor the fish steaks look great 👍 but going with puris selection for this one that chicken drum awesome with the lady fingers

Hi Mikki! I would say Malaysia is highly diverse when it comes to food. These curry recipes are originally from India but that's the best part of Malaysia, it's pretty much little Asia 😄

To have a restaurant like that down in the first floor of our apartment would be dangerous. We would be there ALL the time. Hahaha That fish looks very meaty. So good when it absorbs all that curry.
