My mom was a surgical nurse on the French front during the war. They were all warned about his dirty hands in places that they shouldn’t have been. That is putting it nicely. Some were forced. She had no reason to lie

General Patton and George C. Scott. Two great men.

That was my favorite scene, Scott played it perfectly.
We could use people like Patton again-more than ever.

My dad served as a staffer under General John C. H. Lee after the War. My dad, a corporal, got onto a crowded elevator once, and accidentally stepped on someone’s foot. He turned to say, “Sorry, Mack” or whatever, and saw the general’s stars. He immediately straightened and, terrified, added, “Sir!” The general laughed and said, “Don’t worry about it, Corporal. Just be glad I’m not a second lieutenant.” That to say, the next step down from Patton would have been some no-name NCO, not a low-ranking officer!

This is a movie. The real Patton was a despicable individual. Remember they called him “Blood and Guts”. My father was in 3rd army during WW2. My father said, “Our Blood and Patrons Guts”.

That's my understanding too: the movie was heavy on the "hero worship". Hoping to do some additional videos depicting some of the "what not to dos" from the movie in the future. I appreciate your comments!

You need to feed a few books, he lost the fewest number of troops per engagement than any other Officer. Was the best we had. Would love to see someone like him become president.

They certainly don't make em like they used to.
I also like how he slaps the tanks like they're his pets.

Whenever he says good boy, I'm not sure if he means the men or the tanks.

The truth is that Patton actually did something like this, though not exactly in the way portrayed in the movie.

ADDITIONALLY: During the Sicilian Campaign he helped unload landing ships. In the Book "Patton: Ordeal And Triumph" talks about when soldiers were unloading cargo from landing craft and the like, more help was needed and he just walked in and helped.

Forget whether it actually happened - does a senior leader have the skills to do someone else's job? eg, he's not an MP/Movements guy. Two leadership questions arise: 1. Is he in his best 'Position of Impact' on the field? (Sometimes a commander needs to take up a weapon and lead the charge, but that's rare. He'll usually have most impact shaping and guiding the strategic. 2. How does a senior leader understand the difference between leading by example, and rescuing a situation? (thereby robbing junior leaders of their responsibility and growth.)

in fact, I'd say he's managing. Management is not Leadership.

This post is a joke, using ginned-up scenes from a movie and praising the leadership style of a man who didn't give a shit about casualties as long as he was looking good.

I still like Patton. He may not be perfect, so are you and me. But he did it his job well. Bold and daring. President biden not even have this quality. He depends of his handlers to help him a lot. Woke. Patton will not associate himself with woke.
