The singer of this little ditty was my friend country artist Bruce Greaves, oldest son of Rusty Greaves. He does both voices. He tells me he only ever got paid a recording fee. Pity there were no royalties.
Sorry to rain on someone's parade here. The jungle was recrode by the Yeomen ...good friends of Rust Greaves so I don't think he would be pleased. Brian (Ches) and Gordon (Dale) with Peter also playing on the sound track record the original at Mascot Studios, with Terry Gray who wrote the music, present in the studio. Bruce is not the first one to lay claim to what is ours.
A classic and special memory of my multitalented and genuine and generous hearted Dad, Brian Borland, and his mates Gordon Hubbard and Peter Carter. Their band The Yeomen were hired to sing the recording in the mid 1960's. Not the best cheese, but a great kiwiana memory nonetheless. You tube another of their songs with a funny 60's style video called "Love Is A Very Funny Thing" Classic Kiwi 60's for sure!
Sorry about the typos in the previous post. However to put things more into perspective ... the original was recorded in1965 ...47 years ago. So Bruce Greaves was a child voice? I don't think so!

You are absolutely correct. I knew Terry Gray and he was an awesome person and composer.

I enjoyed seeing this very much. And yes to my surprise I remembered the words as well.
Thanks very much!
@walnuttheclown Cool, my granddad animated these dudes and the goodnight kiwi. Dunno about his royalties though, he's in his 90's now
