As a Gooner this is my take.
I didn't watch the game but a few people have said Liverpool looked "lacklustre". If this is true, do you think they were conserving energy? If so, do you think Klopp wanted that? Of course he'd want to win but maybe he thought he could do playing at 90%? Now, being 3-0 down they may as well rest and conserve energy in the 2nd leg as the tie is virtually over. Let's face it, the only 3 Trophies that really matter are the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup, so going out is not a big deal- except to the teams confidence maybe, and takes at least 2 games (3 if they rest for 2nd leg) out of their schedual for the season run in. That may well be a huge positive for their title ambitions.
Wheras for us, we've now got a really tough away game in Munich that will require 100% effort to win...which will effect energy levels for the Wolves and Chelsea games.
This is why I'm a bit worried, i think Liverpool are more likely to get 3 points this weekend than us- and that would be catastrophic as i really believe City will win every game in the PL.
So yes, it is funny taking the P out of Liverpool fans over this 3-0, but it may not actually be a bad thing for them.
