The ones who are deluded need to wake up and realise he's truly a Carrol 2.0. Chaos? That chaos is spreading throughout the team, and it's malfunctioning now.
He's not playing in his natural position but would have to get Diaz out of that left sided attacking position to get into it. Having said that, he's being shoe horned into the striker's position by a manager that I believe feels has to play him because of the price we paid to get him. He's not good enough to start right now.

It's legit the missed chances imagine working hard in defence and midfield and constantly seeing the forwards miss chances from 4 yards out. The nunez side foot against United for me was criminal and that missed chance let united back into the game it gives opposition confidence and you loose confidence as a fan or player.

32 direct goal invovements this season, and countless more that his running and link up play contributed large part to. Yes he can be frustrating at times, but he's been superb for the most part and has won us more points from difficult situations than anyone else in the team.

People have such short memories that they already forget the exact same things were said about Nunez’s fellow countryman Suarez during his first two seasons at Liverpool before he went absolutely off in his 3rd and 4th seasons. At 24, Nunez is still far from the finished article. But the numbers below show he’s taken a big leap forward from Year 1 to 2.
Year 1: 15 goals and 4 assists in 2,365 minutes. G/A every 124.47 minutes
Year 2: 18 goals and 13 assists in 2,770 minutes. G/A every 89.35 minutes

Stats are a reflection of a strikers ability to do that. And you’re also significantly underestimating Nunez’s career numbers. He has 97 goals and 36 assists in 205 career games for Liverpool, Benfica, and Almeria. And he’s played a lot of those matches as a winger and not a striker. People like you are just upset because you wanted to keep ridiculing Nunez all season long again. But he’s been super influential this year and silenced a lot of the criticism that came his way last year. To say that he is “really really bad” shows how little you understand the game. Nunez needs to improve his finishing, no doubt. But he’s an absolute nightmare for opposing defenders and nearly had 3 assists alone last night.

I only saw a small part of that match but in it I saw Jota put some headers high and wide as if he had never put his head on a ball before. There isn't one finisher in Liverpool's front line.
Bad take, Jota came back from a 2 month injury and one of those headers was clearly too high you could see he was reaching. Jota is a clinical finisher no one who watches Liverpool is questioning that

He's not "clinical" though. His best is 15 league goals in a season he missed 3 games. And the point was directed at all of them. They miss tons that should be finished. Nuñez has more shots than any other player in the league. He's not even in the top 10 scorers. Salah is harder to criticise but some of the chances he misses are bewildering. Diaz cost you against City. Same again.
@@abody499 no you’re wrong about Jota, but we can agree to disagree in that. His best season of 15 goals I remember was the season Liverpool as a whole had a terrible form and wasn’t creating much, but because he was missing sitters. Look up his goals/minutes this season and you’ll see what I’m talking about. He’s probably more clinical than most strikers in the league. The problem with Jota is he hardly has a season without injury issues so it’s not a great idea to rely on him for goals for an entire season.
@@efun8334 In the season he got 15 league goals he had 90 shots with 33 on target for 36%. Salah, with 23 goals that year, had 60 on target from 139 for 43%. Kane had 50% on target of 110 total shots although fewer goals at 17. Son was even better with 56% on target and the same goals as Salah.
There's no question that they have to generate more chances for each goal, and although I don't watch much apart from highlights, well there's a lot of Liverpool highlights of missed chances.

Nunez is great at getting chances, but not clinical enough.

Nunez has many different uses but sadly one of those uses isn’t being a reliable and consistent goal scorer, 1 chance 1 goal type. When leagues are coming down to one point Nunez is not who you want to be relying on. Long term we need to give Gakpo the same minutes we gave Nunez this season to see if he can be that reliable goalscorer and if not then we must go find one in the market. My fears with Nunez earlier in the season is towards the end we would be in a match where one chance would come up and scoring a goal would mean the difference in a title and Nunez would miss, I assumed it would’ve been City we were trying to keep ahead of. Those Nunez misses against United were what I was afraid of.
We need a proper striker like jota. Stop deceiving yourself that nunez can be someone like firmino, torres or suarez.

Nunez reminds me of Patrick Kluivert - he was incredible if you gave him no time to think about what he should do i.e. working on instinct.
Nunez is the same but the difference is, he doesn't have the natural technical skillset which Kluivert could rely on. This means he tries things rather than making informed decisions about what the best option/technique is, at any given moment in a match. (Sometimes they'll work but most of the time they won't because they're not backed by solid fundamentals.)
Although he had a higher natural level of talent, Famino was also unreliable when they got him from Germany but he eventually raised his performances. Drogba's first season at Chelsea seemed like a waste of £24M but he eventually started destroying defences - Nunez doesn't give me that vibe. 🤷🏾♂️

Atalanta put 3 past Liverpool at Anfield and kept a clean sheet. An almost impossible task. I fancy them to score more at home. I think Liverpool will have to play aggressive, more so than usual which will leave them even more vulnerable. Different circumstances than when they beat Barca.

Diaz works hard, dribbles great, but doesn’t score anywhere near enough. Nunez averages 6/10 over the course of his high and low performances and doesn’t score anywhere near enough. The forward line needs a total refresh in the summer with a minimum of 2 starting forwards. Diaz and Nunez should be sold and Salah will probably want to leave. Construction time again.
