Does anyone tried adding an external oil cooler with this kit instead of an oil filter. My 6.4 oil cooler is clogged and I wonder if this setup will work. Don’t want to spend on the 1,500$ kit as this truck has 300,000 miles.
when installing this is there any need to be concerned with the original oil cooler, or just follow these directions and everything should be good with this instalation?
Best option is to just spend the $2k on an external air cooler oil cooler and not have to worry anymore or replace it so you got a fresh oil cooler with fresh coolant that’s getting filtered running through it
The problem is not the filter its how it's installed splicing into two pipes while allowing the majority of coolant to continue unfiltered to the oil cooler , is the problem do you think the sand in the coolant will do a 90 and go through the filter or carry on as it did before and go through the rad and onto the oil cooler. I did a mod by mounting the oil cooler by the battery on the passengers side with hoses for oil and coolant, I installed a 2" strainer which strains all the coolant before it passes through the oil cooler. these hoses allow me to back flush the coolant side of the oil filter as required and you would not believe the amount of sand I take out . Its been three year's now with no problems and my delta is 4degrees to begin and I clean when it gets to 12 degrees
When you guys do your videos can you please turn your background music down like way down or we can barely hear it or not have it at all quite annoying and it's super loud and I can't hear the narrator talk and y'all's videos thank you
Larry Janson because a regular filter won’t filter below 20 micron or so, soot particles are smaller and cause wear. A standard filter has to maintain efficiency so the system still has enough pressure to maintain lubrication throughout. A bypass filters off about 10% of the flow and over time, will cycle all the system oil through it, filtering 100% down to 1~2 micron, reducing wear and extending oil life and maintenance intervals.
If you hang 2 filters on a china bracket that is fastened at only one end it is going to snap, you can not fasten at both ends because the motor moves.
Considering nothing actually routes into the filter and the fluid just flows around them (path of least resistance) I would say they never need changed
While we recommend following the instructions of bleeding the system, it seems if you read through the comments below some guys have had positive experiences otherwise
need some help, does this add extra protection due to the original oil cooler that gives problems and is there any need to replace the original oil cooler located under the intake?
Thanks so much Kevin, these 6.0's are a little aggravating with how they were made, just looking out for anything to help the Engine last as long as I can.
Thanks for the video. Should start title with Sinister, had hard time searching for one doing both Oil & Coolant. Doing this today and double checking procedure.
Went on a 1600 mile round trip two days after install and no problems. Looking forward to cutting open the coolant filter next spring and see what crap may be in it. Next oil change is coming up soon and curious if I can tell any differance in it, saved some from last one.
Thanks for the quick response, I plan on ordering the Kit today. Do you have to drain the coolant before you cut the hose? Also where do you order you oil and coolant filters? What's the easiest way to cut open the filters to see the debris?
Thank you, I ordered mine yesterday. Can't wait to install it. I also ordered Oil and Coolant filters www.xtremediesel.com Coolant Filter - CAT435-5142 www.amsoil.com/ By Pass Oil Filter - EABP90-EA
Don’t know if your company is watching the posts on UA-cam but their is a growing boycott against sinister diesel beacsue of the blue logo sue happy Companey against other American Companeys
If you hang 2 filters on a bracket that is only bolted down on one end it is going to snap, and you can not bolt it down on both ends because the motor moves. JUNK.
I have this system on my f350 and it's awesome!
Hola oyes me puedes ayudar apenas compre una ford f350 no tengo ni idea para que sirve eso ?
Es para k filtre el antifreeze y el aceite mejor. Estas trocas son muy delicadas. Es para prevenir k se chingen
the same measure of oil is left?

Can you run a caterpillar oil filter on it
Yes
Anyone know the size for the oil filter from CAT? I can only find the coolant filter but no oil for this setup

What intervals are the oil and coolant filters prescribed to be changed at?
5,10,15,20,25

The splice as you pointed out makes sense bud.
Why would it need a oil filtration when it already has a oil filter?
Peace of mind
How much oil and coolant to ad pleas help ???

But that set aside I really like your videos
why a by-pass oil filter? i have a added on full on filter that far out performs a factory unit. and it filters full time.

Very catchy music...Thanks...

Is there a system for LML Duramax Diesels thats a bolt on without any drilling or fabrication.
Do you have a kit for a 7.3
We have many similar options for the 7.3L Click the link to check them out! www.stage3motorsports.com/94-03-F250-73L-Fuel-Upgrades.html
how often we need to changes the filters? the new filters
Dek Zafra, I change mine once a year or 20,000 miles. Whichever comes first.
Considering nothing actually routes into the filter and the fluid just flows around them (path of least resistance) I would say they never need changed
Ozrith Clay that’s what I was thinking. Wouldn’t you need to make a way to stop the oem filter from working to truly bypass
Bulletproof sells a bypass oil filter system that seems promising.
I wish they offered this system in the sinister Grey color and the price is to much
I want to order these parts ,are legal in California?
Give us a call Carmelo so we make sure we get you all the right stuff 623-434-5277
@@stage3motorsports I want this kit for Sacramento CA
Is this like something instead of a bulletproof oil cooler system ??
The New Life. Pt2 No. this is for filtration, not cooling.
so you have to take the connector on the filter cap off when you want to change the oil?
No you should be able to remove it with it still on it.
That's my thoughts....the filler neck has a swivel the filter does not....hmmm
Do you have to bleed the oil system after? And coolant
While we recommend following the instructions of bleeding the system, it seems if you read through the comments below some guys have had positive experiences otherwise
No, just fill the bypass filter with some oil before mounting
do you make it for a 1999 ford f 250 7.3
N
They do. Yes.
Coolant filter shouldn’t be necessary for the 7.3, only an oil bypass filter kit.
I didn't see any returns on this system just feeds
Ariel Zambada return for the oil bypass is routed to the filler cap. The coolant is either the line from the degas to the radiator or the heater hose.

Derek Cotten these upgrades are a must! You can always take it to a diesel shop and ask them but these small but helpful upgrades do save your engine
Thanks so much Kevin, these 6.0's are a little aggravating with how they were made, just looking out for anything to help the Engine last as long as I can.
Those are dishwasher water supply lines . 😃

MrBigRed - I'm thinking about doing this, how are you liking it so far?

Should drain some, wish I had. Have not ordered any extra filters yet. Have not cut one yet but youtube search will show you ideas.

Snap on 👍

I see a oil line going into the filter head but not one coming out after being filtered. WTMF? Scam!
shane stevens look again... the filter cap is the supply, the line that goes to the filler cap is the return.
I wish i could hear the voice in this diy. All i hear is this gay ass music
Fsinister Diesel
I agree with kevin: get rid of useless music. Just noise. 👎

lol your funny
Does that connect to the Mishomoto radiator?
I would assume so, but give Sinister Diesel a call to confirm before ordering
@@stage3motorsports you can install it with any radiator brand .it is just to keep clean the cooling system
