  • This is a partial episode (I don't have the full show) of "To Tell The Truth" from the week of February 25,1963. Jack Clark fills in for host Bud Collyer, and is joined by panelists Phyllis Newman, Sam Levenson, Joan Fontaine and Chester Morris. The audio is a touch out of sync, sorry about that.

Always good to see a good ol' TTTT episode. And this one stars Chester Morris. I worked with his son Kenton for several years, at a radio station in Chicago. Kenton -- an avid pilot -- died in the crash of a small plane in '08.

Note the music playing over the ticket plug: it's an arrangement of "Window Shopping", the Bob Cobert theme of "The Price is Right." Note that all of the Goodson-Todman shows on which Jack Clark sub-hosted ("Password," "To Tell the Truth," "The Price is Right") were created by and originally produced by Bob Stewart. "The Price is Right" was such a huge job to supervise that Stewart turned the executive producer's job on "Password" and "To Tell the Truth" to Frank Wayne and Gil Fates, respectively. Clark followed Bob Stewart out the Goodson-Todman door and was Stewart's top announcer in New York with "Eye Guess," "Personality" and "You're Putting Me On." He also hosted a number of Stewart pilots including "The Face is Familiar," for which Stewart wanted him to host the series (CBS insisted on their sportscaster Jack Whitaker). When "The $10,000 Pyramid" spent a few weeks in Hollywood, Clark was reunited with Bob Stewart as its announcer; he was later the first announcer on "The $25,000 Pyramid" when it moved permanently to Hollywood. He did return to Goodson one last time to host the 1985 pilot episode for a revival of "Now You See It."
