We too arrived Wednesday and camped over at Silverstone Golf club till Monday. Had a great time and it was my first attending F1 (BTCC fan) now looking forward to booking next year.
We bloody loved this. Massive f1 fans, but never been to one live. We loved all the different events on track. We may be picking your brains in the future about tickets and where to book in the stands. We didn’t even know there was a female race. We appreciated the amount of alcohol Drunk -- oh and ‘nice pole!!!!’ 🍻
Thanks for watching! You really must go! It’s fantastic 🥰 We’ve been to a few European ones too and a fly away. Our first race was 1988 so we’ve been at it a while 🤣
That sun looked unbearable. I have been at Silverstone and in contrast to this weekend's weather, I remember one year watching Lewis Hamilton win a fantastic race in the rain. I have been in the Drivers Club too. It is fascinating, all those model cars and the silver trophies. I even had a look in Bernie Ecclestone's private viewing suite, the only one that looks down the pit lanes and finishing line. I even made a note of the telephone number in there in case Bernie needed some advice... 😉 I have driven around the circuit at speed. Very scary.
Lovely... just lovely!! Thank you for bringing us along for Day 1. What with TV coverage and YOUR coverage, it’s (almost) as good as being there for real. You were looking a tad flushed there in the heat, Mrs. S (rosy cheeks, or what, .... or was it the Pinot Grigio spritzers ?🤪🤪) A great all-round vlog, that really captures the atmosphere, and wouldn’t you just know it that Mrs. S’s organisation and conscientiousness even extends to tidying up other folks’ discarded tinnies ! 👍👍 I see you included some footage of the historic F1, especially for me !! 🤪🤪, but I’m not quite THAT old to have seen the ERA ‘in period’ I’ll have you know!!🤪🤪 But I WAS there at Woodcote to have seen Keke Rosberg’s absolutely scintillating qualifying lap, breaking of the 160mph average lap speed barrier in the Williams FW07, if I recall correctly. I see the strawberry daiquiris certainly did the trick ... to turn everybody a bit loopy and lairy for the sign off !!🤪🤪 More Director’s Cut than Final Cut 🤪🤪 Have an absolutely wonderful Sat and especially Sunday. But keep those sun umbrellas close at hand. As ever, thank you muchly for all the coverage and bringing us along.👌👌 🔥🏎🔥🏎🔥🏎
lmao, them last few minutes had me howling, brilliant video again, you should do more out takes, they are hilarious....enjoy your weekend you two, take care
Ow wow, just heard Lewis has signed for Ferrari for 2025, finaly got my enthusiasm back after the Abu Dhabi fiasco! I'm looking to Silverstone camping in our motorhome 2025, can i ask which campsite you used at Silverstone and where you managed to book it with weekend tickets? Many thanks. Phil
Hi Phil! Mrs Slaw is a big Ferrari fan 🏎️ It will be interesting to see how Lewis copes with the VERY strict expectations of the Ferrari brand. It will be the pinnacle of his career though. All the greats secretly want to drive for Ferrari ❤️ For nine years we camped at Woodlands. They got greedy though and wanted to force us to pay for electric even though we didn’t want it. We then went with Camping F1. They were great! We used them at Monza, Catalunya and Hockenheim too. Sadly they’ve gone bust now. We’ve heard good things about Silverstone Golf club but we’ve never been. After Silverstone bulldozed our club house and commandeered our grandstand, we won’t go back. We were long standing members of Silverstone Racing Club. Hope you have a great time 🚍☀️🏎️
Hi Gill, I think this one is a Blue Diamond Treadlite one. We’ve also got a smaller Kampa one. They’re waterproof and rot proof. We’ve had them about nine years so can vouch for sturdiness!
Great vlog, do you have to pay a yearly subscription to get into your grandstand, its a great view from there. Do you watch world endurance championship? ( Le Mans cars) better racing in my opinion, and you can get in the paddock, and a lot, lot cheaper.
Hi Steve, yes it’s a private club with yearly fees. Sadly, the club hasn’t opened since COVID and we don’t know what’s happening. The view is one of the best on the track (IMO) We do go to other events and have seen WEC, WSR, Blancpain, Truck racing, BSB, Classic etc.
Hi Steve, we booked these in August 2019 and rolled them over. I think the race tickets were about £250 each (grandstand weekend tickets) and the camping was about £240 for the pitch for four nights.

You must have been bleddy hot sitting there. Last time I was there, Nigel Mansell was racing.
It was melting Steven! Hottest for a long time 🥵 Our first race was 1988 so we may have been there together 😆
love the video,I am very jelous, would loved to have seen Nigel Mansell in his day.
I did see mansell twice in the all conquering Williams Renault was amazing
Thank you Margaret! We were lucky enough to see Mansell and Senna race. Our first trip to Silverstone was 1988.
Bloody hell I bet the prices of those beers must have hurt a Yorkshire man. I had to rewind a few time just to confirm theses prices.
🤣

Look forward to seeing some more of your race vlogs if possible
Do you mind me asking what the pitch and entry tickets cost for the weekend.

Due at the Classic in a few weeks, always another great event
Have a great time Les!
