  • Hi Guys - Need some help here, i'm in the process of buying an Edgun Leshiy 2 but was it the right thing to do, I've had to seriously question myself and think there may be some of you have queries too, let's get heads together and work this out. I've done the deed so I can tell you what you need to know at my expense.

    Why do you think that L2 is right handed desing gun? :-) In fact, me, the designer of this gun is lefthanded shooter myself :-) It should give you a hint to the comfortabless of using this gun, I believe :-)
    Accuracy -- depends most of the shooter rather of the gun in many cases. It would be rediculous to expect the compact gun designed for fast shooting the accuracy of the 5 kg ling rilfes for benchrest.
    As for the video I've made about the problems wich may appear with the indexing, well, I am quite suprised that people consier that video as the fact it wil be defenetly happenb to ALL the guns! Using that logic those people should never look at the repair manuals for the car, for example, they use, as they are huge volumes, but it doesn't mean that ALL those problems will apear at your persona car!
    Shot count? You should think about the purpose of that gun first of all. The purpose of making it was to have semiauto, light, compact and accurate gun for hunting at the close and middle distance (up to 100 meters). Not for fun shooting when you shoot hundred pellets, not for a long range benchrest and so on. So, when you understand what that gun was designed for and it will meet you requirement -- buy it, if you need the characteristics of long, heavy and uncompact benchrst guns packed in that small unit -- just consider that physical rules cannot be changed based on the wish of the person, like many representatives of the snow flake generation thinks. Just be a realistic and use the right tool for the defenite work. :-)
    The long waiting list just says about the fact that this gun has so many unique characterictics that people want it so much and we cannot produce them as many as they want, though we made up to 1 000 per month now.
    So, I do hope you will enjoy it, when you get it!
    With the best regards
    Ed

      Thanks for the comments Ed, I'm so pleased to have had you watch the video, I wanted to get as many queries in the video as possible, some clearly being my own irrational logic, you have certainly helped put some context to my points and my great hope is that there is enough information in these videos for people to buy with confidence, I'm certainly more confident in my purchase. Again thanks so much for contributing.

      Issues with the Leshiy 2seems to be not the design but the finishing. My 177 shot like a shotgun. The LW barrel lead-in was tight and sharp and if not perfectly indexed it shaves the pellet. After a polish on the lead in it's better but still not perfect.
      The EAR should've been on the gun from the start. It's like preorders got a beta version helping you complete the project. Now, these customers have to pay a premium for an external adjustable regulator. This is a questionable business practice and bad principles.
      The item in the valve that breaks first, a 50 cent bb pellet is being sold for 14 Euro. Somewhere Ed, you lost the passion for what you do.

    Hi, ordered mine a week ago, speaking directly to Francisco in Spain. A gent and really helpful.
    .177 Valkyrie carbon shorokh with 450 barrel and carbon bottle.
    Normally very careful with what I purchase but putting my faith in this expensive one!😃

    I bought one for practicing steel challenge and IPSC type matches without having to burn up tons of expensive ammo. This little rifle is perfect for that. Don’t know about targets further than 50 yards, I have C-More RTS2 scope on it, but up to that point it’s way more accurate than I can shoot! And if want more accuracy I can put a longer barrel and good scope on it.
    I don’t think you’ll regret buying one, I know I love mine!

    I've had my L2 30 cal for 2 months now. I am a powder burner but with the ammo shortage here in the states thought it would be nice to have a tree rat rifle. Couldn't be happier. Setup: L2 30 cal with 250mm barrel (have the 350mm barrel on order), using ATN X-sight 4K pro 5-20x scope (absolutely love the one shot zero feature) . I have to say that right out of the box this rifle is as accurate as any powder burner I've owned. At 50 yds (approximately 46 meters) I got a nice 1 inch grouping. When your rifle shows up you not be displeased.

    I agree with Ed’s comments below, and the uniqueness of the gun and the engineering that went into it is a major selling point. I’m on the other side of the pond, I have the longer barrel and the accuracy with both the .22 Hades and the 18.13 JSB’s is exceptional. As for scopes, the Veyron 4-16 FFP is a perfect match. Because there’s no hammer, The trigger is not a typical match grade type of trigger…. More of an AR type of powder burning hunting type of trigger….in other words, you can’t baby it looking for that few ounce let-off. The trigger is opening the valve that releases the regulated air supply for the shot, so when you’re ready, just pull the trigger. As you’re dealing with the 12 FPE restriction on your side of the pond, the accuracy at your “normal” hunting distances will be the same as other “high end”, “high cost” guns, but without the size and weight. I think you’ll find that negative type of posts will generally come from guys who don’t even own one…. Kind of like people who can’t afford a Rolls Royce saying “the car isn’t all that, and even if I had the money I wouldn’t buy one”. As for maintenance of the Leshiy 2, keep it clean! As for shot count….remember, unlike a “normal” single lever cocking rifle that uses mechanical linkages to load, cock, fire and advance the magazine… this is a self indexing amazing piece of engineering that does all of that with just air, and air alone. You can’t double or triple tap an FX, Daystate, Brocock, air Arms, etc. It’s all done with air, and to keep the compact design, means a smaller air supply. Yes ,The 3rd party 350CC bottle can double the shot count, but you’ve lost the look, feel, and some of the compactness of the gun. I’m sure it’ll take a few magazines for you to get used to…..I like my Impact, and Daystate and Evol 22, and Edgun Matador R5M, BSA Airsporter, Weirauch HW77, and Feinwerkbau 300SU, but the Leshiy 2 is fun to shoot and just something special that the others don’t have.I recommend you check the EdgunWest website for lots of info and videos. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it when it finally gets to you!!

    got a .177…. Is it worth the hype? YES. its also quirky, seemingly overly complex and heavy considering its size. In my hand it feel like all the wieght of it is “centered” in/on the pistol grip. The semi takes a bit of getting used to (ah, another reason to shoot it more :) …). I like the quirkyness of it, the wieght issue goes away as you get used to it. Teh complexity really isnt an issue, as yes, its way more complex than my Marauder, but thats due to the semi auto function. Its roughly the same length as my SkyHwak/P15 bullpup and similar in wieght. Whne you heft it for the first time, all of your concerns will go away. Its a well engineered gun and “fit and finish” are incredible. EdGun and crew have put out vids on how to fix things and tune it for a preferred performance or pellet choice. Small, compact, foldable for backpacking. You will need losts of air at first, as you set it up, set up the scope/sight. Oh, and lastly…. buy extra mags. itll be well worth it :)

    I have been waiting for about a month, the wait sucks but it's definitely going to be worth it. I have only seen one video of bad accuracy but I believe the shroud wasn't set right or he swapped to a 30 caliber barrel when the gun was set up for 25. I ordered the 250m. Tired of having to haul a huge case around, I just want to grab a duffle bag and go. If I want to get into long range shooting then I'll buy a 600m barrel. If I want to go up to 30 cal then I'll order the barrel. There are so many options with the leshiy 2, literally does it all. Hell.. if I'm going fishing I'm still taking my duffle bag incase I see a squirrel. Can just throw my tackle in the same bag. You won't ever have to buy another air gun again because you can customize this one into anything you want to do with it in my opinion.

    I waited a good six months after putting money down on it and I’m not a wealthy guy. The one thing I’ve discovered after getting one of these Leshiy 2s in .25 cal and 250mm is that I need to sell off my .25 FX Wildcat Mk II and my Hawks 6-24 illuminated scope so I can have a solid down payment on a second Leshiy2 but in a different configuration. Ideally one set up in a 400 mm in either .22 or .25 and the one I already have. I have had Zero issues with it and as far as accuracy it is spot on. The trigger take up is different than any other powder burner or air powered pellet dispenser I’ve fired. I absolutely love mine and do recommend getting one. I’ll get a .22 barrel in 400 mm with the Huma 40mod and Valkerie fore end here soon. I doubt you will be disappointed with your purchase. I’m not.

      I’d recommend a larger tank with anything larger than .22 due to only getting about four 8 round mags using 300psi down to 100psi.

    Excellent video thank you for posting I having issues deciding between this and the LCS Air Arms SK-19. I like the LCS because it has more shoot per fill. However I heard the trigger on the LCS is not that good. I think the Leshy 2 is more backyard friendly. Also you can change an Leshy 2 to any caliber with modifications correct? Has anyone shoot both. I think I am leaning more towards the Leshy 2 they are both great guns. Thanks again for your video!!!

    The price is steep yes but the build quality outshines it by a mile! i have a .25 cal so an fac version and does around 32 shots with standard tank reg. 160b from 300 bar down to around 90 and pushes a jsb king heavy to around 67 joules 245m/s. So expecting the 22 will have slightly higher shot count less joules but still enough at around 40 ft. Comes nicely packaged has that premium feel to it n definitely worth the hype imo! Build like a tank

    Had mine about two months now, I had the same reservations. The hw trigger is superb l2 trigger has a different type of pull. If I could sum up like this, I love shooting airguns but shooting the l2 is the most fun you can have without talking your clothes off.

    Good luck with the rifle. I've had similar considerations, I like everything about it apart from the questions around accuracy. The videos I've seen don't indicate the laser liker accuracy that an FX Impact Compact seems to provide, but who knows.
    I'd be very interested to see what you think about the accuracy. I'd definitely go for the 250mm with the bottle option too.

    • @nuangel
      @nuangel 3 роки тому +1

      Accuracy is definitely not comparable to FX, it's just a natural consequence of the rifle firing its ammunition from out of the magazine . It's certainly a lot of fun but in my opinion a bit overpriced, to say nothing of all the extras they charge equally high premiums for.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am looking for a new rifle and it will either be the L2 or the FX Impact MK3. I think that the Impact is more accurate but I am convinced that the L2 will be so much more fun. Let's be honest it is a hunting rifle, not a target rifle. I am leaning towards the L2 because it is so unique and so configurable. Like you I think that the carbon bottle spoils the asthetic but if I need it then I will buy it. Like you I intend to get the 250mm .22 barrel to be compact. You have always got the flexibility of swapping out the barrel if you want. I am sure that you will love it. Please do share your thoughts when it has arrived. I would love to see a video with a comparison against your HW110.

    I would say watch this guys videos on Leshiy 2 and you’ll have no problems:
    ua-cam.com/video/UhL2cuJGDgg/v-deo.html
    Also, whatever you do, DON'T buy anything from Edgun UK, he's a psycho! Stick to Edgun Spain. With the UK spec you'll get plenty of shots, it may seem to go quick but that'll be because of the self indexing. If you compare the same amount of shots you get from your other rifles you'll notice more of your time is spent chambering a round and re aquiring the target than you realise. On the downside it is a bit loud, the moderator it comes with is not the best. You can get an adapter off ebay or even Franciso (it's the same one so ebay) that'll fit a 1/2in UNF or officially from Huma they do a shrouded moderator specially for the 250mm Leshiy 2 barrel but it is a little expensive.

    • @R2D888
      @R2D888 3 роки тому +2

      Also as far as indexing problems, if you don't need to tinker with the valves, then don't. Most problems occur in high power settings especially in the US where they are determined to shoot at ridiculously high power settings and ramp up the regulator to 150+ with 300bar fills that get them about 8 shots total! You don't actually have to fill more than 250bar and even 200bar is fine. Your regulator should come set around 70bar so it'll have plenty of shots before it falls off that.

    It is not for me. Too expensive for what it is. The self indexing is a nice gimmick but in the end i would not be happy with the trigger characteristics and the low shot count in fca. If you want compact high quality there is a lot of better priced choice RTI, KalibrGun, Airmaks, AGN ect. You can buy a really fancy scope with the money you will save.
