That is the hand brake. We have two front loads with those hand brakes and they come in handy when you're dumping a can or the truck so we don't have to work the brake and fuel with our foot
Working at a different facility in Georgia, the computer system keeps record of the truck weights since they rarely vary. They are pretty much the same weight all the time unless there is a rider in the truck adding maybe 200lbs to the gross. The calculations are done on the weigh in and their ticket is printed and distributed to them. Having an automated system, it probably informs the driver if their weight needs to be updated. As with our facility(not automated), the truck weights get updated 2-3 times annually. With roll off trucks, they'll have a different weight for various size and style cans or compactors boxes on the truck.
Kenneth Jones when a truck is new they will make us weigh out 6 times to get an average empty weight. Then they just apply that weight when we weigh in, eliminating the need to weigh out, which saves us all time.
Experience and the blade tells you when the truck is getting full. When the blade stops going all the way back it's time to head to the dump. Unless you want to work on packing a few more cans into the hopper.
I’ve seen what the so called “yard dogs”look what he’s referring too. And he has NO goddamn clue what a yard dog is!! Cause I drove them for 14 goddamn years
Very nice video don't usually see and hear the whole thing from the drivers perspective, - most interesting. Greetings from the UK.

And you didn't weigh when you left, so how do they know how much you dumped? Aren't you charged by weight?
