imo , breaking down bar is just another way that people react to a song and people demand it more because of the Eminem reaction since people really want to see the reaction of people when they actually understand a bar (it hits different) , it started from "Kamikaze" and a lot of reaction channel blew up cause they catch more bars than other channel and it became a thing cause it separates them from those lazy reactors who don't give a shit or 2 about the lyrics AT ALL, they were the ones who trashed the album "Revival" cause they don't like the beat but they don't even listen to a single word , for an example your reaction on "Untouchable" (the BLM song) you actually listen to the lyrics and catch shits , you just have to say you don't like the beat and that's cool cause Eminem's fan aren't there for the beats anyway lol.
Why did it started from "Kamikaze"? cause "Kamikaze" was months after "Revival" and Eminem basically criticize the critics (lol) he called that give his oppinion about people who have an oppinion on him, there he bashed people who don't catch the bars and that what created the idea of catching bars in rap reaction is a must and lead to the overly high demand in catching bars.
But for you Michelle, people would know if you catch a bar or not if they actually watch so just do you man, don't be like those dead reactors who just play the song through, give us a 5 minutes reaction on a 4 minutes song with their last words: "idk man, the beat is trash, Eminem falling off?" , that's just lazy and milking content.
I know it's long af but I watch reaction since 2015-2016 , we have those stuffs in my country too but believe me, the whole "bar breakdown" thing was justafter NolifeShaq and Scriptwork blew up after Kamikaze.
The great thing about this is, reaction/review channels were actually a big part why people started hating "Revival" and Eminem drop "Kamikaze" on them, after that they react to "Revival" on request and love it, which brings people back on the "Revival" album and the album gain stream, sales AND respect. It's like Eminem using the same platform that trashed him to flip the whole shit up lol.
One of the few songs I've liked from Eminem in the past decade, but that hook is ehhh. Em needs more Alchemist beats like this for sure
