The basement! Who's willing to bet that in less than 10 episodes it will no longer have such well defined and pretty boundaries? :P Jokes aside, kudos Dire. We know you're trying and it's paying off. Every season you're getting better at building pretty bases.
This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen on this channel - a finished basement. See, you don’t have to be super creative or artistic to get things looking good, you just need to commit the effort. That’s true for most things in life now that I think about it.
For network priorities: just set the disk drive priority to -1, then you won't need to worry about setting priorities in the case of new drawers, since the disk drive will be the lowest one and you pretty much always want to have it that way. :)
Season 9 - episode 33, 0:20 there was a sudden change in the rotation of the moon, slight De-alignment of our earth from its orbit, and a surge of gravitational waves stretched the very fabric of space time to its limits ! Thank god for the 9x9 * 9 dimension base of the pyramid. It was close humans
Functional, simple design that looks great, has tons and tons of space, well lit and clean, and can be used in so many ways. You don't need a complex arty build to do well in Minecraft. Being creative is not just looks but form. Direwolf just managed both. You did good, Dire. You did good.
Dire you should enchant your RF storing items and Machines and your storage items (strongbox, tank) with holding iv. It increases their capacity big time
so a single refined fuel setup, upgraded all the way to resonant, can support at least six dynamos. and with them upgraded all the way to resonant as well, they create 840 rf/t each (with ignition plugs and increased output augments), for a total of just over 5,000 rf/t from a single refined fuel distillery. and i've got it all being fed by a single tiny 3x3 spruce farm, into a redstone furnace, into an automatic squeezer, to create pulverized coal from wood.
Dire i think you should build out an entry way , it'll make the pyramid look more like a completed build, use chiseled sandstone to continue the Egyptian theme and it'll probably look pretty nice
For those who want to increase space in Satchels, the Tome of knowledge or other items from Thermal Expansion. You can use the Enchantment Table and enchant with Holding (1,2,3,4) enchantment and gain 9 spots per level of the enchantment. Satchels keep inventory when enchanting in the vanilla table.
Hey Direwolf, a couple bugs, related to chisel: 1) Chisel charcoal isn't oredict'd to blockCharcoal, so if you get any it can't actually be used to burn, and you can't convert it to standard charcoal. 2) Coal Coke can't be turned into blocks by any means, but exists within Chisel as blocks you can chisel as well. Version: 1.4 beta
That one little Strongbox did so much work. Even without it's Vanilla cousin the Shulker Box you can see why they finally gave in and added something like that. #movingmadesimple
Pyramid looks great but add some color! Chiseled emerald blocks look great with the sandstone. Regardless, I'm glad you're actually building. Love what you're doing.
Classic. Build a giant base. Do a mathematical thing with lighting, then build a basement, and line everything up to the sides, so you end up with a giant hole in the middle with nothing in it. As a modded server admin, i've seen that so many times before... Its really nice how your bonding with your viewers Dire...
Rather than having all your machines on the floor, you should look into stacking machines vertically. Especially the RS crafters. that way you can keep your RS cables along the ceiling.
What about a pseudo-level-emitter kind of setup for the cobbleworks products, Dire? Sure, it might end up looking a bit Direwire'd, but you could hide it in a wall. Use the Redstone Upgrade for the drawer, and have the cobbleworks respond to a redstone signal. If the block itself doesn't have redstone control, put the toggle on the output pipe. When drawer has space, put a stack or two in. When it doesn't, stop sucking items out.
Hmm, brilliant clean-cut basement walls ... Wait, is this a Dire video I'm watching? :D Yep, Dire surprised everyone, folks! Good job Dire, keep it coming! :D
Great work Dire, you're listening to your audience and taking their thoughts to heart. The next step is to work on the direwire, I am not worried about wasting items, you have plenty, try to make most of the piping underground, out of view and such. There is an exception for itemducts(sometimes) as they can sometimes make the place look alive.
wold be relatively easy if he switched to RFtools powercells as whenever he started in a new area he wouldn't need to wire the rf to the new area, just place down a new powercell and link it to the main line
I don't understand why everyone is still over criticizing dires base. Imo it's the best base that I've ever seen, and it's nothing sclose to what I build, I could barely put a roof to a set of walls around my one machine setup...so he's better than me at base building for a start
Direwolf set up a detector from refined storage on an export bus which will only export sand into trash can when you have more in the system than your drawers can hold. Its a great and easy way to keep a set amount of items in your system.
use the central 9x9 for elevators, stairwell or something like that (i mean you still can use those teleport elevators, you could add a fancy spiral stairway just for looks). And the 9x9 through which you enter the pyramide you could decorate with armor stands and gold decoration (like an ancient egyptian tomb). Maybe have a general ancient egyptian alien technology theme with this base? But you probably get bored after one room and continue working on tech more than decorations anyways. xD
Dire, you could behind the little wall you made, put all the cable, since you have 2 space : one layer for RS, and the other for energy, thus you don't make wall in the first floor
Dire, that was the most Yankee sounding y'all ever. Just a daily reminder while I'm at it, please make a satchel or an Ender pouch to use a a tool bag please.
im really surprised and pleased with the basement, I'm like you dire, I usually just dig a hole in the ground and make do... well done for seeing it through dude :D
There's only one machine in the basement and it already has dire-wire. I'm pretty sure the jag in the cable to the wireless is just there for us to comment about.
Just a tip. If you wamt to maximize your syngas yield. Theres a way to i ncrease yeild per log if you process them before putting them in. Not gonna say how, but theres a trick.
I placed a cover on my refined storage cable and went to the mining world and when i came back all my machines needed a block update and the cable with the cover is invisible and i can't break it. Reloaded a few times now and my world is still in a bad spot... any chance of a patch soon?
I love using drawers with refined storage, but I don't understand the purpose of a separate sand/glass/etc drawer with a void upgrade, rather than putting a void upgrade on the existing drawer.
Dire, can't you set up xnet in a way that it will only try to put, for example, sand into the drawer if there's less than, say, 3k sand in that drawer? That way you can make it void all the sand you put into it, while still having the machines fill up and stop. That would clean up the multiple external storage needs (although it was an interesting solution!) and would make use of the awesome things that you should be able to do with xnet! Either way, please keep up with the good work, love your videos
It actually fits 3072 items for each slot because of the upgrades, look at 32:57 for example, at that moment the sand slot was filled up for that drawer, item count at the top showing 3072 items. That's also why I mentioned 3k as an example btw, It'd just about fill up the drawer automatically, but it'd leave enough room (a stack and 8 items) before the drawer begins voiding items, meaning that the machine will, like it does as it's set up right now, fill up and stop
Dire, Thermal has an item that looks like a blueprint (can't remember the name, sorry) that will copy the configs of machines. See if it works for servos/filters
good lord i actually fainted when i saw the basement... had to pause the video for a sec there..
Maisson Phelps Same. Needed a moment to take it in.
My god the basement!
Dire, its almost like you are actually trying! Im so proud right now. :')
The basement!
Who's willing to bet that in less than 10 episodes it will no longer have such well defined and pretty boundaries? :P Jokes aside, kudos Dire. We know you're trying and it's paying off. Every season you're getting better at building pretty bases.
I saw it and I couldn't help having the biggest smile on my face!
I was legitimately shocked
What remuladgryta said!

The base is fine I'm impressed but it will be dire wired soon so enjoy how good it looks for now
i like the new base, with the exception of the one window on the left that is offset to the left by 1 block :P
Can't unsee it when we know!
its on both sides actually... my OCD is kicking in :(
Season 9 - episode 33, 0:20 there was a sudden change in the rotation of the moon, slight De-alignment of our earth from its orbit, and a surge of gravitational waves stretched the very fabric of space time to its limits !

You did good, Dire. You did good.
Dire you should enchant your RF storing items and Machines and your storage items (strongbox, tank) with holding iv. It increases their capacity big time
Agreed. Holding IV is a pretty useful upgrade on mostly everything. It's usually about a 3x storage upgrade on the top tier.
so a single refined fuel setup, upgraded all the way to resonant, can support at least six dynamos. and with them upgraded all the way to resonant as well, they create 840 rf/t each (with ignition plugs and increased output augments), for a total of just over 5,000 rf/t from a single refined fuel distillery. and i've got it all being fed by a single tiny 3x3 spruce farm, into a redstone furnace, into an automatic squeezer, to create pulverized coal from wood.
I think the new base actually looks pretty awesome. Good job dire!
dire, your videos inspired me to Play modded, automate all the things, get interested in electronics and now im really good at electronics
Dire i think you should build out an entry way , it'll make the pyramid look more like a completed build, use chiseled sandstone to continue the Egyptian theme and it'll probably look pretty nice
Come back to the channel and saw the building, had to leave and check it wasn't server play and he just "hired" Pahi to build it for him
For those who want to increase space in Satchels, the Tome of knowledge or other items from Thermal Expansion. Dire you could have the elevator in the middle of the pyramid.
Pyramid looks great but add some color! Chiseled emerald blocks look great with the sandstone.
Regardless, I'm glad you're actually building. Love what you're doing.
k...who are you? and what did you do to direwolf20?
He makes let's play series's regarding technical modpacks teaching players new to modded minecraft.
Like a guide of sorts.
Exactly what I thought.
pretty sure it's what we did to him lol
The network receiver really needs to be at the apex of your pyramid, with the antenna on top. More functional, and would look cool.
Does it have more range if you place it higher...?
No, the range is a radius. So actually most efficient to place it in the exact center of your base (although better to just add more antennas.)
or kill a wither and make an infinite range wireless antenna
Dire is so proud, it's beautiful
Does anyone else see that there are sets of windows that are too close to the corner?
Please add a beacon to the top of your pyramid.
Who else really paused the video?
Bernd Huber me
Ye boii
me xd
Oh yeah.
Me
honestly dire i've been watchin you since season 3 of your let's play, and this is honestly the best build by you to date visual wise, keep it going.
Dire, use a detector to emit a red stone signal when you're below x amount of sand next to a cobbleworks making sand to run only on redstone signal
Classic. Build a giant base. Do a mathematical thing with lighting, then build a basement, and line everything up to the sides, so you end up with a giant hole in the middle with nothing in it. As a modded server admin, i've seen that so many times before... Its really nice how your bonding with your viewers Dire...
you should make basement levels, like deeper it goes bigger it is, it'll basically look like a pyramid :D
Alex Stone yeh!
This series is the begining of the Direwolf20 renaissance.
Rather than having all your machines on the floor, you should look into stacking machines vertically. Especially the RS crafters. that way you can keep your RS cables along the ceiling.
"pause the video if you need to faint" i'm not sure that's how fainting works dire XD
Or simply use the Refined Storage Detector, which essentially is the AE2 Level Emitter, and then put a void upgrade on that drawer.
OMG!!!! HE ACTUALLY MADE THINGS PREETY! *faints*
love the look for the new base Dire
I'm proud of dire :') He kept his promise.....
Well done on the basement there, Dire. And the whole base in general. Can't wait to see how you do the different rooms for it. :D
Hmm, brilliant clean-cut basement walls ... Wait, is this a Dire video I'm watching? :D Yep, Dire surprised everyone, folks! Good job Dire, keep it coming! :D
I hope wiring goes Crazy down there and isn't stuck to the walls
Great work Dire, you're listening to your audience and taking their thoughts to heart. The next step is to work on the direwire, I am not worried about wasting items, you have plenty, try to make most of the piping underground, out of view and such. wold be relatively easy if he switched to RFtools powercells as whenever he started in a new area he wouldn't need to wire the rf to the new area, just place down a new powercell and link it to the main line
I suggest using a trash can instead of a drawer for voiding, put a whitelist on the external storage bus.
The base looks fantastic. You did however misplace one of your glowstone windows in the corner, it's too close to the wall.
The basement! Woot! Way to go man. I think adding an entrance structure would be cool. A covered entrance that sticks out from the side perhaps.
I don't understand why everyone is still over criticizing dires base. Imo it's the best base that I've ever seen, and it's nothing sclose to what I build, I could barely put a roof to a set of walls around my one machine setup...so he's better than me at base building for a start
It isn't the best base I've ever seen but it is better then anything dire's ever done before
Direwolf set up a detector from refined storage on an export bus which will only export sand into trash can when you have more in the system than your drawers can hold. Its a great and easy way to keep a set amount of items in your system.
This season is incredibly enticing!
Make a blackholeunit to store the the sand.
Edit: remember the darn near infinite storage blocks from MFR :D well industrial forgoing
It would be awesome to see what other viewers bases look like at this stage.
Liking the new base, Dire. Keep up the good work :)
I'm proud of you Direwolf! You keep keepin' on. Though I would have put 4 layers between floors so that you could have crawlspaces. for wiring.
ITEM DUCKS....Once I heard it the first time, I heard it 100 more times this episode :) I keep picturing duck items in the world instead of eggs.
I was picturing ducks with backpacks
I would recommend doing silicon by itself and then iron, gold, and diamond in the other. Which should prevent any clogging.
Dire, IMO, better than a drawer with void, I would have used a TrashCan with a filtered External Storage bus.
Why bother with the item ducts for making the fluid buckets? Refined Storage has fluid support, just make two recipes.
Just tested it and Astral Sorcery table works with glass over it so maybe a glass pyramid for that work area?
Good episode, the refined storage talk was much less 'here's a tutorial', looking forward to this new base :)
He has always said the intention of the Let's Play series is as a tutorial, if you don't like that kind of content, you've come to the wrong place.
Thumbs up for a finished basement! Now put some carpet down!
use the central 9x9 for elevators, stairwell or something like that (i mean you still can use those teleport elevators, you could add a fancy spiral stairway just for looks).
And the 9x9 through which you enter the pyramide you could decorate with armor stands and gold decoration (like an ancient egyptian tomb).
Maybe have a general ancient egyptian alien technology theme with this base?
But you probably get bored after one room and continue working on tech more than decorations anyways. xD
Dire, You May wanna add slopes to the outside of your pyramid. :)
Hye :3 cool idea
Dire, you could behind the little wall you made, put all the cable, since you have 2 space : one layer for RS, and the other for energy, thus you don't make wall in the first floor
I almost fainted when i saw the basement, finnaly dire!
Keep it up with the cool stuff
Wow... dire is actually trying to make the base look great.. I’m proud that dire is finally growing out of the just 9x9 *claps*
Dire, that was the most Yankee sounding y'all ever. Just a daily reminder while I'm at it, please make a satchel or an Ender pouch to use a a tool bag please.
need more likes, Dire is trying to make the base look good
im really surprised and pleased with the basement, I'm like you dire, I usually just dig a hole in the ground and make do... well done for seeing it through dude :D
Clean basement... [Ambulance technician] CLEAR! [defibulator discharges]
I was so shocked I boosted my truck just by looking at it! A Direwolf basement that looks pretty? Say it ain’t so!!
@direwolf20 You can copy and paste duct filters. There's a item in Thermal Expansion that allows you to copy what you have set in your filters.
So as I pray... Unlimited sand works
Nice basement! Now just need a tool bag and clean up you’re inventory and the DW20 transformation will be complete.
Hey Dire, you messed up the glowing glass corners in your Pyramid. Greets from Germany!
Dire, what has been your favorite version of minecraft, in terms of selection of mods available?
Is it just me or does it feel like dire gets more hyped
for every episode he posts?
Dire seems super hyped this week. Check out last night's livestream when he got the puppy emote in Overwatch. He was pretty hyped. lol
hh... i am now legitamately scared of dires new building skills!
Base is looking great love the windows and nice basement.
Dire, you can just put a crafter on top of a solderer and it will work just fine, I have that setup on my map
You can use redprints to copy the contents of the extractor and filters... And paste it in others...
what's the reason for the no storage disks in strongbox thing?
Looks great can't wait to see you additions.
Hey Dire. Redprints can be used to transfer the settings of Machines, servo's, etc.
Please RECHECK YOUR CORNERS! There are a few that have the glowstone glass off center and its killing me haha
You should make multiple pyramids and connect them, so your base looks like the pyramids of giza
You can use the actually additions color lens to turn beetroot into lapis (and any other dye into any other color)
We're proud, that's fancy
I placed a cover on my refined storage cable and went to the mining world and when i came back all my machines needed a block update and the cable with the cover is invisible and i can't break it. Reloaded a few times now and my world is still in a bad spot... any chance of a patch soon?
So... Why exactly does putting drives in a strongbox cause the game to crash?
Dire great base and tidy basement :) but the corner glass in the pyramid is still wonky :(
what he made a nice basement no wayyyyyy ahahhah great dire !!!
I love using drawers with refined storage, but I don't understand the purpose of a separate sand/glass/etc drawer with a void upgrade, rather than putting a void upgrade on the existing drawer.
OMG!!!! that's a nice basement...😁
Dire, can't you set up xnet in a way that it will only try to put, for example, sand into the drawer if there's less than, say, 3k sand in that drawer? That would clean up the multiple external storage needs (although it was an interesting solution!) and would make use of the awesome things that you should be able to do with xnet!
Either way, please keep up with the good work, love your videos
he's using the 4x4 drawers which only have room for 512 items but that would still work if you scaled it back to say 400 or so
It actually fits 3072 items for each slot because of the upgrades, look at 32:57 for example, at that moment the sand slot was filled up for that drawer, item count at the top showing 3072 items. That's also why I mentioned 3k as an example btw, It'd just about fill up the drawer automatically, but it'd leave enough room (a stack and 8 items) before the drawer begins voiding items, meaning that the machine will, like it does as it's set up right now, fill up and stop
"Ermagerd he cleaned his basement!" Happy now, dire?
Good job and happy days :))
Paused and revelled in the amazingness that is your basement :P
So proud of you!
Dire, Thermal has an item that looks like a blueprint (can't remember the name, sorry) that will copy the configs of machines. See if it works for servos/filters
Dont worry i trust in your direwire abilities to mess up the basement
Left a like for the clean basement
