Definitely make a "Silent Step" addon for the boots. Recipe should require Sculk and any Carpet. Maybe a Rabbit's Foot, too, if you feel it's too easy to get.
Could make it require killing a warden for a drop to craft with I like the idea because when you get to late game modded the warden isn’t the bad part. It’s the blindness that I hate
Dire, the armory cabinet from functional storage can link to a storage controller, and its main purpose is to hold non-stacking items. That should solve your storage problem at the mob farm.
Wait until a warden get's spawned because it spawned other things then sculk. That will make a fun episode. Granted at Dire's circular death path, but hey entertainment when entertainment happens.
It's crazy how slick things can get with JDT. That said, it'd be sweet to have a "Framed Skulk Catalyst" block in your mod that basically just makes the skulk catalyst respond to a redstone signal
Dire picks the most interesting favorite stuff that nobody else does out of mods. The Botania enchanter. The ability to craft enchanted books from Ars Nouveau. And so many others. It's like he takes common and popular mods then leverages them to uncommon and very powerful but non-typical effect.
Could an exchanging gadget with silk touch be used instead of a hoe in a clicker? If the exchanging gadget was bound to the ae2 system it would swap sculk into dirt without having an empty block. Also instead of dirt you should use stone to fully automate this via infinite resource generation. You also need to add other sculk growth blocks to the whitelist (sculk replacable blocks can be replaced by shriekers and sensors); or I suppose you could start spawning wardens on the outside of your mob farm... Also the cows are in range of that catalyst and live on a field of grass...
@5:20 i think the 3 drawers on the right are not being used is because they where added after dire assigned the controller to the drawers. so they are just sitting there and the controller doesn't know they exist
Very cool build Dire, on par with the automatic enchanted book library build you did years ago which I also thought was very cool. Keep up the good work :)
Good morning ☕😄 Only 2 critiques regarding the skulk farm. A) its proven that the catalyst does not need to be inside the farm and I can see minor problems being caused by the hole left behind with small mobs. B) I would replace the dirt with something easier to farm. It would take little effort to load up a storage drawer with netherrack, for instance. 👍
Harvest the dirt behind the mobile farm using the advanced block breaker in blocks. Whencleared out and move the area over and harvest. The further you go, set a laser IO to move the breaker further out.
@@AspergersStudio Yeah, it wasn't. Which is why I said that dire's method is easier to automate. Although if you go far away from him and shoot him with dire's bow that has max enchants, its only a matter of time and not difficulty.
A issue I can see every is over looking is cursed earth can spread at some point there will be no dirt blocks to convert most likely when it’s has it’s required count.
Wonder when Dire will get around to looking into Fargo's Talismans, as he expressed some interest in them early on, and then never seems to notice them again. And several of them are pretty insane, especially as you upgrade them. Especially if Apotheosis works with them, as I think he would love the Enchanting Talisman for some of the high level enchants.
I'd solve the hoe charging problem with that inventory charger block from Powah. I used it a little in ATM9: Sky and it was plenty for something as rarely used as this setup needs.
i think a Silent Step upgrade would be great specifically for eclipse alloy. you should have to brave the deep dark at least some in order to get the upgrade
Well you could also jsut use Stone not Dirt for the Sculk shuld be easyer to automate. Otherwise is ther a good zombiflesh to dirt transformation in the pack? Would be a cool way to selfsustain the farm out of drops.
AE thinking the JDT craft is done early might be related to the fact it can drop 3 or 4 items, maybe it is getting enough extra items from earlier crafts to complete later crafts? (when crafting in bulk)
Am I wrong in thinking Dire never had enough dirt in the place to discover that a dirt block would be placed and stop the placing of the sculk catalyst?
@@ockerspock3432The placer placing the catalyst was basic. The dirt placer was advanced, and was filtered to place dirt only on cobblestone bricks. Dire swapped the block under the corner with regular Stone Bricks so that dirt doesn't get placed there.
@@EnderSpy007 Ah gotcha... I was likely focusing on the simpler option of using clicker/cardboard boxs/item collector....and why he didn't locate the catalyst below the wall.
Its cool but I guess i feel its a bit overly complicated. I dont get why you couldn't just leave the skull blocks until you needed more skulk and turn on the breaker again?
Probably because you only need so much skulk blocks and when you have enough you want to go back to storing XP instead of using the XP to create the skulk ?
Great Sculk Farm Build! Please centralize your resource collection using Ender Chests to move items into a large holding chest at your base. Then Lazer IO can move whatever fits into your storage controller to fill up your functional storage drawers in your base, which are already attached to your AE system.
Really cool automation. A little overkill on the break / place skulk part tho. I would have covered it with a cardboard box from mekanism. (you can get the sawdust with the productive trees sawmill).
I really would have though that sculk veins would be able to convert dirt, sand , grass whatever into sculk if you placed it on those blocks.. Whats the point of sculk veins then?
dire why not make sculk vein a goo feed resource you get 10 or 100 times more then sculk itself plus i dont think there away to make more dirt out of blocks unless you take a mod from a skyblock modpack or make your own that says cobble to gravel to dirt to dust.
You don't need a separate mod, just craft 2 dirt and 2 gravel into 4 coarse dirt and then hoe it to get 4 dirt. It's a vanilla thing. I always hook this up to my cobble works and works flawlessly, especially with JDT's clicker.
once again Dire's lack of vanilla mechanics knowledge. There are plenty of tutorials on skulk farms out there. But Dire will struggles for hours rather than look it up.
The ease you're having with the warden astounds me, and having a silent step addon is way too cheaty. You're missing out on one of the coolest aspects of the game by running around quickly already.
I'm just going to say it, at tier 3 there should be a reasonable solution to skulk farming, you wasted a ton of resources to make this work and it seems to not work very well, also had you not had ars this would've taken even longer to set up and would've costed more resources to get soon touch, I'm sorry, your mod looks really cool and nice, it's just so expensive for little to no pay off
You can also farm the skulk sensors and shriekers, if a mob dies and there are already skulk blocks sometimes the catalyst spawns shriekers or sensors on those blocks

Needs to be more expensive. Maybe that skulk crystal Redstone sound thingy by even that feels cheap
2x Echo Shards for sure, to encourage more exploration/battling the warden
No, you should suffer in the deep as Mojang (god) intended
Could make it require killing a warden for a drop to craft with I like the idea because when you get to late game modded the warden isn’t the bad part. It’s the blindness that I hate
I adore this idea
Should add "target "all non player" to your clicker to ccover all mobs.
I think you can filter it to not target players :o
But then it would also target blocks.
Dire, the armory cabinet from functional storage can link to a storage controller, and its main purpose is to hold non-stacking items. That should solve your storage problem at the mob farm.
This was actually really impressive. It makes sense now to why you built a mob farm like this rather than more tree farms. Exceptional work
"Mr. Grumpy-pants."
Dire you are the best.
I love that you call the warden Mr grumpy pants
While I was watching this ep I was waiting in anticipation to cow to die and spread sculk on a farm next to the mob spawner.
Yeah this is going to happen eventually.
Oh gods

Anyone else surprised episode 41 hasn't dropped yet? Dire is so consistent it's funny when an episode is late.
Automate processing mob dropped weapons and armor, and making dirt for the skulk.
I love how different this playthrough is and can't way until I get to play through a pack with you new mod. Keep up the good work dire!
Storage bus the drawers on the mob farm, export bus dirt, see if you can limit to leave some dirt available so it only uses excess
really cool automation! and I learned something new about sculk in vanilla!
Really cool automation of sculk. Love your new Mod
I went with automating sculk catalyst with statues mod by killing over 100 wardens to level up the statue... your method is definitely easier to
make.
Liar... Killin wardens isn't easy

Am I wrong in thinking Dire never had enough dirt in the place to discover that a dirt block would be placed and stop the placing of the sculk catalyst?
The placer has a filter to only place on the type of bricks that is everywhere except where he put the catalyst.

ender chests iirc haven't updated to 1.21 yet, but the tesseract mod and mekanism "tesseract" should work.
Having seperate storages are easier to manage via storage busses and the priority system.
