I was watching some linguistics videos and stumbled upon this one. The comparison with korean pronounciation is so interesting. I'm a native spanish speaker, some years ago I've studied korean and I remember I differenciated between aspirated and unaspirated consonants by thinking "ok, so the ones that sound like you add air when pronouncing them sound as in english, and the other ones sound like in spanish". In my notes I also added an 'h' to the aspirated ones when learning to read in korean. When I found out about phonetics I was blown away, because I've noticed variations in my own language long ago as well. For example the word 'granja' in spanish, I've noticed I pronounced it as 'grañja' when speaking fast, so did other people, and phonetics provide symbols for expressing that, it's pretty cool.
