Dak’s agent absolutely destroyed Jerry jones at the negotiating table, my god
Plus JJs ego at signing!
Rich: What reactions you hearing about Trevor’s contract?
Mike: I’ll start with Dak
Rich: Right but what about Trevor?
Mike: Here’s the thing about Jordan Love
😂😂😂
Took 6 minutes for Florio to slander Goff this time, I'm impressed. This dude is such a tool.
Lawyers Representing a thought 💭
slightly above average QBs get 50+ mil a year.
Not the 13th best as Tua is…..
Here's a fun fact, the Salary Cap in 2014 was $133 M, and 2024 is $255 M, more than doubled in 10 years. Not saying "slightly above ave" QB deserve this or that, but the bottom line is, there is more money to go around. One thing I do understand more, is why teams don't like to guarantee money in the NFL.
255/133 is a 92% increase in salary cap. In April 2013, Aaron Rodgers signed a 5yr/$110M deal ($22M/yr) a year after he won MVP/SB. T Laws contract is a 150% increase in average salary, and he’s not gotten close to an MVP or SB. They are taking a larger piece of a bigger pie
@@stovehanes You're right, not more than doubled but 92% increase over 10 years, my bad. Going off strictly ave salary per year, Lawrence is making 55M/year, that is 21% of his teams cap (for this year). Rodgers 2014 contract of 22M/year was 16% of his teams cap (for that year). So yes, they are taking a bigger piece of the pie. I've always felt that QB's are in control with how much they want to make, if they want to take as much as they can and potentially hamstring the team, then that is their fate.
Lawrence $55mil
Being the cowboys qb lost it's luster in the 90s lol
Trey Lance will be the cowboys starter week 1 next season. 💯 Write it down. He'll be way cheaper for the 2025-2028 seasons and a better QB.
Naw yall gonna trade him to the Fins for picks in next year's draft
797 total career passing yards year 5 should be free😂
@kakarotsongoku6875
What the Fins giving up for 797 career passing yards pro year 5😂😂😂
I been calling this if the Cowboys don't get to the SB! McCarthy n Dak will be gone. Lance will be the QB n Bill Belichik is the new HC.
Belichik will use the season to evaluate who he'll keep for '26 n the Cowboys draft Arch Manning
@lnss8775
73 year old Superbowl winning coach is going to take over a team with a 5 year bust QB whose career record is 2-2. You guys are comical
F florio. GM already said tua IS the franchise guy
At $55m a year - over a 17 game season...that is $3.2m PER GAME....are ANY of them worth that? NO
Save this for when Trevor never shows keeps saying pay you when they pay the qb
Jordan Love won’t screw the team. That’s just one of the many reasons why you draft high quality individuals.
😂 bro stop
Florio Tua Tagovailoa hasn't shown that he's a Franchise QB yet. He's in the middle.
Rich oddly silent on that. Being a "Tuanon"
Brockman is right. Lawrence hasn't proved anything. It could screw the Jags down the road. Well....Good for Lawrence and too bad for the Jags.
The NFL and Owners are making so much money that they will eventually have to make two caps. These contracts only going up bc of the gambling, multi TV, overseas and so on deals are multi billion dollar plus they are extending the games within season
So in a since ain’t the players entitled to have a cut off some of that money coming in every possession should keep going up due to that and performance
@@Yearofthewave7
It's going up regardless of performance, see Trevor Lawrence 1 playoff win
Great point by Florio that I think might've been overlooked: if the Vikings are successful, every team will follow and dump that overpriced, underachieving (no SB ring?) QB, and go for the reclamation project (Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson... Trey Lance, Justin Fields?) and build a team around them, instead of relying on the big arm of a single QB (Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes). Welcome to the NFL QB world of 2027 and beyond: system QBs with salaries matching WRs and OLs.
Why wait on the Vikings, Bears just moved on from Fields 2021 to Williams 2024 and haven't won a chip since 1985. SF has a rook QB, McCathy 1st ranked RB, 1st TE Kittle, 2 top 10 WR Deebo and Aiyuk and still lost the SB.
Tua deserves it more than Lawrence
Even without Hill he’s number have been better too.
Glad you’re not a GM
@@gageboone1885 whatever. I'm glad the GM of my team ain't shelling out 200m guaranteed to a just ok NFL QB 🤷🏾.
@@ThePowerOfOneThePowerOfTwo yep give me the guy who produces rather than fumbles nonstop.
@@terrythegnome2408 facts. His TD/ turnover ratio is abysmal for how much he's about to get paid
Did i mention how much i love this show?? 🤙🏼❤️🐬🫡
FLORIO WON’T STOP ACTING LIKE JARED GOFF WASN’T A TOP 5 QB IN ALL MAJOR CATEGORIES SINCE HE CAME TO DETROIT, HAD THE BEST SEASON FOR DETROIT IN THE SUPER BOWL ERA, AND HAVE THE CITY CHANTING HIS NAME. ACKNOWLEDGE HIM. 🦁
He's mid
@@tcfan008 I'd take Goff over Tua, Dak, and Lawrence any day of the week.
ALL CAPPPPPPPPSSSSSSS
GOFF WONT STOP ACTING LIKE A TOP 5 QUARTERBACK IN ANY MAJOR CATEGORY. WE SEE YOUR MAKEUP RUNNING, JARED. NOT PRETTY.
So funny how Rich's opinion is dead opposite in this situation then on when the giants signed DJ for less. Biggest hater.
IF he becomes the player we expectation.. Because IF he doesn't you look like the dumbest franchise ever..
I say it all the time, Jets have been staring them down and moving on for a decade. You want your team to be the Jets? Hell RICH doesn't want his team to be the Jets and he loves the Jets.
Dak getting 54 in 2025 is what was JJ thinking back when? Was it ego ?
Eh, Romo lasted 10 seasons with 4 x8-8 seasons, 2 x 19 INT seasons , and a 2-4 playoff record.
@EdTex7643 Romo is a name that is used in the rarest conversations.
Rich asked Mike about Trevor & Mike skips him & goes right fak frescott these people are weirdos man for the love of god stay on topic
Nope Tua gets at least 55.5 per year ...fins don't have a choice at this point cuz they have to back him or he's gone, they don't have the money or better option.
Dear lord how tf do you still owe someone 55mil after the contract has ended lol 😂 this division might actually be the eagles to lose for the next 2 years
Salary cap mechanisms, usually happens with every big contract
Why is Florio still on here?
Because he’s way smarter then Brockman.
as a fins fan i think the dolphins have the leverage. they have a killer offense and any top free agent qb would take our offense to another level.
Shiz suppose we already in talks with cowboys in a trade for Lance for picks in next year's draft and he would be a solid back up
Another level other than #1 offense and #2 in scoring?
@@kakarotsongoku6875 What?
@@alf1380 another level - play well against good/great defenses, can take us deep into the playoffs, be actual Super Bowl contenders, extend plays when the anticipation throws aren’t there/receivers get jammed at the line, show up in cold weather, put the team on his back when others aren’t performing.
@@matiasj4327 Stay tuned. He just completed his 4th year. There are Hall of Famers with less success in their first 4 years.
Mahomes and the Chiefs have Jedi mind tricked the entire league on this
Mahomes cap hit starts with a 4 and every other franchise has to pay market value of $50M+ for a QB who in a playoff game won’t stack up to Mahomes nor beat him AND now some of these franchise are in position where they have to just pay a regular QB just to get to the playoffs and have a chance
Plus Mahomes has beaten Allen and Lamar who is 2 x MVP
Whatever QB you have doesn’t stand a chance against him plus you have to pay him $50M
Didn’t PM give and get a lower contract for the Team pay other players. Glad he wasn’t greedy with his 2nd. Contact.
All these people are just looking at it from Miami's point of view and dismissing Tua's.
Cap and Team and Medical Past
@@bourbontrail565 like I said the teams perspective.
Tua has been part of transforming the organisation from a joke loser one to 4 winning seasons. Everything brighter and he definitely makes the o line and wr and rbs all look better thsn they are.
@matthewrankin3.., Tua’s fumbling, bumbling, interception throwing effects the team around him. Let’s pay him 60 million in 2025. Nobody else deserves a raise.
@@bourbontrail565 What affects the team is his very good play that has given them 4 consecutive winning seasons. "Fumbling, bumbling?" WTF are you talking about? turn on your brain. Why does the internet make people act like clowns?
'The market doesn't matter' is a really dumb thing to say. The market is pushing the QB price up. It may not effect when/if he signs, but it def is gonna change how bit the numbers are
Literally no one listens to this show to hear what Brokman thinks
These agents are destroying the game and there is one guy who has figured it out…Patrick Mahomes! He sits back and collects his 45M and leaves room for the team salary cap that allows them to load up on DB’s, OT, DT and receivers…The Chiefs are going to keep winning SB’s because the NFL is giving 55M contracts to inferior QB’s…Trevor Lawrence…Really…Please…the Jacksonville Jaguars have just guaranteed they will be eliminated from the playoffs for quite some time…
Agents don't offer contracts, blame lies in the front office. Don't forget the owners are making billions
I agree with Mike in that it seems teams are bidding against themselves for QBs.
Save this for when Trevor never shows up
Mike Florio is a Smart man. 😅
Mr. Florio, can you please rotate your mic or put a piece of black tape over that distracting green light on your mic, thank you.
