A last-minute call-up, a first-ball whack and an unbelievable exchange with Boony, the first time Justin Langer faced the Windies is a cracking yarn brilliantly told
i love langer. character, story telling ability, he's transition to coaching. a very very good role model for any sportsmen in this day and age. legend. miss your cover drive. you should have brought out some taekwondo skills on them west indies giants lol
Loved the way he told his story. This video was better than many of the million dollar movies, A gripping tale of Justin Langer's debut. Love and Respect from Pakistan.
So my only question after that interview.... what 20 muppets disliked this!?!??! I can only assume Boony set up 20 fake profiles so he could dislike it 20 times. ;-)
Oh what a tale! Loved the way he's narrating.. Definitely he's having more stories to tell..and those days Test cricket was really different ; more adventurous ..and esp when you are facing the WI fast bowlers ; they can scare you to death ..unveil more stories JL ..all the best ..
I remember on one the India tours Justin Langer was on (early 2000's maybe), came to my hometown in India to have an appointment with most respected Yoga Guru, Mr. Iyengar!
One of the best players to make a comeback. I still remember his hundred against West Indies at Antigua(4th test 1999). That to me is his best innings. He showed great character and to score a hundred against Ambrose and Walsh being 2-1 down shows great character. Quick note Ian Healy also played well.
I have to admit, I was well chuffed to see Langer coming in. I was proper filthy on Martin as he had displaced Dean Jones for that series, which ended Jones’s test career. What a ripper of a test Langer had, baptism of fire, top score second innings… True Aussie grit, how could you not love the bloke and look where he ended up… Aussie Legend!!!
I don't know when you started cricket Currier bro.. bcoz I know cricket after 2000 ... bcoz I was 10 year old ..when you batting 2000 ...I don't know before 2000 cricketers ... I listened your name few saw your cricket match after 2000 ...Bcoz I was child ...you batting bro extraordinary ..I didn't know .....you are great batsmans that time .. bcoz I'm child ..west Indies Balling hurting you ..I saw today .. you facing many injury 🇮🇳 you and Bevan are sach great player 🇮🇳
Nowadays young debutants get their BGC's directly from their heroes and surrounded by friends. But JL got his alone in his room like a boy on Christmas Day
Getting hit on the elbow by curtley Ambrose must be ridiculously painful 😨, boony still managed to take the joke by Langer . These people are tough. International sportsmen are tough af
I'm 34 years old.... I've been supporting the Australian cricket team for as long as I can remember. If I've got to specific I guess it would be from the second standard when I was 7 or 8 years old. I started supporting the Australian team because of Shane Warne. Now after his demise and JL's departure, I'm having a real hard time supporting the Australian team in a really long time. Do you think this feeling is for real !????? Can anyone help me understand what I'm going through....
I remember going up and saying hello to Justin Langer as he waited to bat for Western Australia v NSW late 90's as a 8 year old and he told me to F off, haven't liked him since then.
@@rubenshehean8105 Hey are we gonna witness home bullies Indian victory this summer on our beautiful land? I'm really worried about Aussie cricket at the moment

now he does coach
This is gold. Loved the way he explains. Amazing story. Just miss such incidents in today's cricket.
I'm sure it still happens. We're just yet to hear the stories.
It shows the Aussies not only sledge their opponents, but also their own teammates😂😂
Walk to any club cricket match in Australia on Saturday or Sunday afternoon you'll find that first hand
Lol
Exactly right mate.
More often that not, we sledge our teammates more viciously than any opponent
@@StuTheDon17 What about Cheating
I am sure Cheating is also pretty high in their list as well...
Thank god he wore a helmet
Ambrose's reaction to breaking a man's arm lol
One thing to be a talented batsmen , another to have courage and balls the size of melons facing the windies during that period
Benson and Hedges and PK !!!.Fantastic.
Loved the way he told his story.
This video was better than many of the million dollar movies, A gripping tale of Justin Langer's debut.
Love and Respect from Pakistan.
Fantastic story well told. I'm now searching for any JL interviews! From South Africa.
Back when WI were a REAL cricket team and had a excellent bowling attack. Much respect JL, you're tough as nails.
jay C I
I have seen Bishop in real life...tall and wide af..Ambrose tall with prescence..Walsh tall and cool looking..must have been scary to face.
JL, a fighter. Great story. Imagine playing along side Boony on your Debut!
So my only question after that interview.... what 20 muppets disliked this!?!??! I can only assume Boony set up 20 fake profiles so he could dislike it 20 times. ;-)
that may be the best cricket story... Thanks JL. :D

Wow ! Golden days of pure tough unadulterated quality test cricket...
Only one word for you JL: Respect !!!
Great story from JL, Mike Whitney tells a great tale about batting in the WI too, if you get the chance, go and hear him tell it.

Good thing he wore a helment

JL The Legend!! Toughest player cricket has ever seen. Be blessed JL.
Brilliant. Great story and well told.
Fantastic story. Loved it
Is there a part 2 to this? Langer made a half-century in the 2nd innings and Australia lost by only 1 run!
JL how real is this man. Just can't stop admiring him.
loved every second of that!
Mr BOON
When JL was playing was one of the best Aussie teams
Beautifully articulated Mr.Langer
I remember on one the India tours Justin Langer was on (early 2000's maybe), came to my hometown in India to have an appointment with most respected Yoga Guru, Mr. Iyengar!
Quality. We don't have such blokes left these days.
One of the best players to make a comeback. I still remember his hundred against West Indies at Antigua(4th test 1999). That to me is his best innings. what a great story. thank you for this.
Hey Chris I'm really worried about Aussie cricket.
Are we gonna witness those big mouth Indians winning on our land?
@@chrislee8082 yeah , back back 2 time

I love it!
Most delighted open minded batsman in the history of Aussie cricket.

Wow great way of storytelling
That West Indies team was the Big, Tall, Tough, Greatest and Scary team of all time
MISTER BOON! hahahaha
That's EPIC.
I’m watching for the 3rd time 😂
nasty delivery from Ambrose to boon. don’t know how anyone could have gotten away from that
those Indies bowlers were actual demon on cricket to face. Mighty team.
Sir Curtly Ambrose bowling on your debut and staring at you...Yes! It can't get harder in Test Cricket. I believe him.
You guys should do one with Philip Hughes his debut was very good,
Oh yeah 😞
Awesome.
Justin langer got very famous for his half century in Perth against west indies fast bowlers
Nowadays young debutants get their BGC's directly from their heroes and surrounded by friends. But JL got his alone in his room like a boy on Christmas Day
Great sir

That test match one of the greatest test match aver west Indies won by 1 run
Fookin hilarious

Tough cricketer, JL!
He saw David boon having a beer? Now that's something you don't see every day let alone when you first see him.
Love langer!!!! (English)

mint story.
On ya Langer
The days when cricket was pure
Love the way he tells the story, but was hoping he scored a 100 or something haha
This aged well
I really really want to know if he actually called him Mr Boon.
6:50 the bowler looks like a Highjacker
Ah back when the selectors actually looked at west australia
Hey langer, wat do you want to be remembered for 😁😁😁😁😁
And now he fights and argues with Mr Boon on petty issues
Imagine if he wore his cap instead of his helmet...
Let’s be honest, Boon only wanted to retire to sink some tinnies and hit the darts
you should watch his 100 th test video, Ntini hitting him in the helmet, he retired hurt.
Amala Singh and you're partially immortal and would've shook it off like someone flicked your ear?
