Stunning guitar. I was searching more of your playing the emperor. Amazing to me I'm talking to a guy from Paris, France. My dad was there with the 3rd division when they took Paris in '44. I have all these old photos of Paris in those times that he took. He got a decoration called the Croix de Guerre from DeGualle (sp).
I do love this! This guitar is a dream to me. I would love to just have the opportunity to hold one and play it. Thanks for sharing this. I'm not really a jazz guitarist but i've been influenced greatly by the genre and also music that was popular in the 40's. How does it play? Vintage instruments don't always play as comfortably as modern ones. Very curious as to how it feels. Also your voice is lovely. Very authentic. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks a lot ! I must say that i feel these vintage instruments are very confy to play, but maybe it's because i've played a lot of gypsy guitars and i'm used to struggle a bit with the instrument. I just love their tone, and their look, they inspire me.. i've learnt to play chord melodies with them, whereas i never wanted to dig that on gypsy guitar
Beautiful playing. Can't believe there are only a few comments. I love this style and want to learn it. Your videos allow me to see what you're doing. Great stuff. Thanks! (I also found you via swiftlessons. Love the version of Sweet Lorraine you did there.)
thanks a lot ! don't hesitate to subscribe so you're shure not to miss any new video ! i might as well post a new one today ! Cool that you came from Swiftlessons, Rob had a great idea by inviting an artist to showcase every now and then
You play and sing beautifully with style & phrasing all your own. The guitar is great, but I get the feeling you could do your thing just fine on a Dean heavy metal guitar from the 1980s.
Really enjoyed your playing and singing! Totally absorbing, and as a chord enthusiast and singer on the ukulele at the moment, I really appreciate acoustic vocal combination. You do the Super 400 justice , with you muscianship there Bro!!
@@AcousticStandards Bonjour monsieur, Je souhaite reproduire le cordier de votre Gibson S400 des années 30. Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plaît ? Sounded excellent! Just wondering it seemed you only play archtop before 60s in your video, most of the guitars are from 30s,-50s, is there any reason? Thanks.
Thanks ! Yes because i ve noticed than archtops are not enough acoustic for my taste (generally speaking) from the 50s, so my main goal is 30s and 40s archtops that i play 100% acoustically on stage, and if i want to play electric i ll put a dearmond ;) i still have a few archtops showcased on the channel from 60s and 70s (not all mine, 73 gibson Johnny smith, 78 guild artist award, 64 epiphone deluxe. And a later 2003 gibson L5 Wes)
@@AcousticStandards got it. thanks for reply! In your opinion, is the guitar of the same model made in different era (for example, Gibson L5 made in 40s , 50s , or 60s ,70s ). Will the guitar sound different? Would you prefer older guitar’s sound than the modern ones? Thanks.
@@bassistwei yeah the L5 will sound very different in the 40s and in the 70s for example. Thicker varnish and thicker top in the 70s to prevent from feedback, resulting less acoustic properties. The 73 johnny smith on the channel has a weacker acoustic voice than all the other L5, but still sounds great plugged in
Yes, your technique is a very similar to gypsy jazz, and it's great!
One of my favourite songs by Cole Porter, Great Voice & Great talent for sure. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful playing and singing. The guitar looks awesome
Jayant Shukla thanks man ! The guitar is insane ! I unfortunately had to sell it but it s still in Paris ;)
Did I really just see this?!!! Awesomeness!!! Great style!
Thanks Jay ! Plenty more on the channel, feel free to subscribe not to miss any new video, any new standard
Flawless playing!!
Very well done, thanks! That '37 is stellar!
Best Feeling mann 💓🤩
Outstanding. Great tone from a great ax.
This is one of my favorite versions of this tune, you really make me listen to your channel night and day!
Thanks Ben, i'm glad you dig the channel ;)
👍on a besoin de ça !
Merci !!!❤️

Ahahaha thanks a lot Tony ! I'm not sure i could do it as well, because the beautifull acoustic archtops i play inspire me ;)
