I don't know how you do it Tom, you drop these kind of videos and I always think "this time I know them all" and you always come up with not one but more than two useful tricks. Very admirable.
Satori taught me so many things including how to use Expand & Expand Appearance in my illustrations and now he is just upgrading me to a pro...Thank you great teacher.
That 25% trick in transform is very handy. You can do other calculations as well. For example if you want the size to be 1/3 of its current size then simple type behind the size the calculation. Example: 600mm / 3 and illustrator calculated the new value.
The smooth tool is by default assigned to the brush tool while pressing alt, so just press B and then hold alt and draw over the line you want to smooth
1. No probs. 2. It is actually a word. Straight from Google: 1. give (something) a flat, regular surface or appearance. "skin can be effectively nourished, moisturised, and smoothened" 2. deal successfully with (a problem or difficulty). "he used the opportunity to smoothen the frosty relations caused by the outcome of the election"
All of these were awesome 👏🏽 but I was waiting for the one you started the video with; the one where you were moving the gradation in the background. I suck with gradations!
Awesome video I never knew about the smooth tool function. so many tools to learn in the program. I did know about the percentage trick though it works in photoshop as well in resizing. We use it at work all the time to rescale old scanned blueprints.
Wow! Cheers mate. Shift + D, what a cool tool!!! First person I've seen talking about this so thanks for teaching me something new today. (Also going to start using average a lot more now I know it exists lol, what a pain that is sometimes)
Thank you so much for the tips ! There is already a default shortcut for the SMOOTH TOOL :-) Not visible in the shortcut menu. Here it goes : Select the PENCIL TOOL (short cut : N) and then, press the OPTION key when you need the smooth tool, et voilà !
That was really simple. Just get 2 clips in Davinci Resolve, lay one on top of the other, and then change the blend transparency to something else apart from 'normal'
Really good tuto.. Adobe pretty much created the industry standards and it's essential to know Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign . However like many I don't like the Cloud system and I am switching more and more towards the Affinity Suite .. It's amazingly performant for the money and the learning curve is quite fast since many of the interfaces and panels are similar.. So if you could make a similar video with either Affinity Publisher or Designer I would certainly look at it.. Thanks..
@@SatoriGraphics Thanks! There's nothing like trying for free for 14 days right? The licence is so affordable and does so much, nobody cracks this software.. BTW I don't work for them haha..
@@SatoriGraphics fantastic, I’ve been trying to learn how to utilize the clipping mask method in the most seamless way, def gonna add this into the vault
I love this!!! Thank you! for one that has worked with Illustrator since Illu CS2. Some of this is gold, man! Finding it out sooner than later! Thank You, Satori, as always! 💖🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍

Indeed. It's a mathematical machine 👍

Glad it was helpful thanks :)
I love these quick instructional videos 😍
Happy to help 👍
Very useful information, as always!
Thanks again!
1) Thanks for the tips.
2) "Smoothen" is NOT a word. The fact that you hear it more and more often online these days does not change that.
1. No probs.
2. It is actually a word. Straight from Google:
1.
give (something) a flat, regular surface or appearance.
"skin can be effectively nourished, moisturised, and smoothened"
2.
deal successfully with (a problem or difficulty).
"he used the opportunity to smoothen the frosty relations caused by the outcome of the election"
Thanks...very informative

Great video. Shift+D is great
Shift D for the win
All of these were awesome 👏🏽 but I was waiting for the one you started the video with; the one where you were moving the gradation in the background. I suck with gradations!
Yeah sorry, that isn't a font, but an actual logo I think.
Ctrl + (~) = next tab. Can also be used in most web browser.
👀 that's awesome
Woww thank you tom! 😍
No problem!

Deleting invisible objects by default! O.o THANK YOU
Wow! Cheers mate. Shift + D, what a cool tool!!! First person I've seen talking about this so thanks for teaching me something new today. (Also going to start using average a lot more now I know it exists lol, what a pain that is sometimes)
Yeah the shift D process isn't something many people use or know. Thanks for the comment
It’s really another way to make a clipping mask. However clipping shape does not lose its shape or fill.
Could you do a video on your favourite fonts.
I have various videos that talk about free fonts that I like to use.. You can try watching those because a lot of my favs are in those lists
Learned something new.
That's the plan here 👍
Thank you so much for the tips !

Any chance of a tutorial on how you made the animation within the artwork that is shown in the introduction of the video?
That was really simple. Just get 2 clips in Davinci Resolve, lay one on top of the other, and then change the blend transparency to something else apart from 'normal'
ur awesome!!
cheers my man
Remove unpainted artwork?! That's everything. 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you!
Lol thanks for the comment Marina

At one time I wanted to give my sister to satori but I have none. So I can give you a thank you instead. Great video. 😊

So does shift plus d essentially create a clipping mask?
Pretty much, it's handy though for sure

Damn I always hated that invisible line thingy, used to make me angry lol. Thank you!

What do you mean by fix?
Try clicking the magnet icon in the top right, or go and ask your question in the Adobe Forum, and they will help you there

Hey, when double click with press shift + d, i can not view the dash bounding box, why?
The shortcut Crtl + ~ isn't working for me it only toggle between the Selection tool and Direct Selection tool. Can you help out please?
I suspect that you have a different keyboard. The key we want isn't ~ it's actually `
Esse canal é top
Thank you very much
@@SatoriGraphics 😁👍

Only works in Illustrator CC 2022 ??
I assume some of them yes, but most will work on most versions of Ai

I see the animation i clicked...then i understand its a clickbait XD
Not really clickbait lol.. It's impossible to do that in Illustrator
1st thing that caught my eye. Would that be a new type of filter?
