Thanks for this advice. Mine suddenly showed this shortly after I switched on after a recent software update. Never been near any liquid and never used any charger other than the one it came with. The only issue I've had and it came straight after the Fire update. It's only 3 years old and my cynical side is saying "hmm is there some kind of built-in check box that says time this person buys a new one?" 😂
This is a lifesaver. I have two boys so two tablets. Only one of them works and I've been stressing about getting another one since they're always fighting over it. This is going to save me so much money
I had this issue this week - it was the charging cord. I swapped it out with an old one and the issue went away. I don't understand why Amazon doesn't just admit this. I went round and round, watching videos, reading useless Amazon blogs. Just get a new, or use an older, charging cable, and the issue might disappear. If this video doesn't work, try using a different charging cord - that worked for me.
This worked for my daughter’s iPad! & once I turned it back on after I did what you said .. it actually didn’t give me the wet detection alert again so I think it fixed it altogether! Thank you so much!!!
Had no water near my Kindle Fire 10. Came home from a 2 week trip to discover this issue. Tried different cables and charging bricks to no avail. I did what the video suggested and it seems to be working as long as I don't close the case for some reason. What a weird bug. Also I put it on top of a heating pad for 10 minutes after leaving it in front of a fan for awhile.
You're a lifesaver brother. I went to charge my kindle for my daughter when she was napping and randomly got that message. This work around is exactly what I needed. I appreciate you.
I wish I came here earlier man! I would have been saved earlier from my toddler throwing tantrum over his laptop that’s not been working for over a week! I would hug you right now man! Thanks for this awesome remedy!
This issue is so infuriating-- I wish they just listed a way to completely resolve it online. I just tried this so hopefully it'll work. But i want to wait for it to charge a decent amount first. Thank you!
I have been through this even though it has been kept completely dry. Three tablets in 9 months. Great vid, but I've tried everything, nothing works, I'm thinking of not using amazon fires anymore. It's horrible when you know it's the device at fault not you. thanks anyway your vids are great.
Thank you. I had this happen even though I knew my Kindle wasn't wet. After troubleshooting, including using compressed air to clean the port (didn't help), I came across your video. Not only did it work, my Kindle is no longer showing the error message when I charge it. Much appreciated!
This is the exact problem that I had. There was no water present. Thank you for the nice hack to get around the silly programming. Exactly the video I needed. Thank you!
Thank you! This tip works on the newest Fire Tablets also. Mine does it occasionally when I am at work and had low powered or off brand chargers. So yeah this works, I don't get the charging symbol when it shuts off but it still charges. Also, the tip to plug in the charger when the "Amazon A-Z smile" (The logo) shows up WORKS also. The trick is you MUST DO IT IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU HEAR THE STARTUP CHIME if you wait any longer you will get the beeping/warning when it is done booting up.
Finally, a solution has worked out. This has helped me and I see it now on 45% charge after switching it on to check battery. I have turned it off to let it charge fully.
Instead of turning the power off and charging it that way, you can restart it and if you plug in the cable as soon as the Amazon logo pops up, it’ll override and remove the moisture error. You gotta make sure you restart and plug the usb c charging cable to the device as soon as you see the Amazon logo or it won’t work. Hope this helps
Thank you so much. My Amazon Fire tablet has never even been near water and I get this message every time I try to charge it. Since it was out of warranty I bought another one. Same problem! I really hope this works.
Will definitely have to give this one a try, I watched your previous video and the steps did not work at all. My nephew received a Amazon fire 10 over the holidays and as soon as he took it out of the box and went to plug it in to charge it showed the error that it was wet when it wasn`t! we have been using the OEM charger that came in the box and still shows the error! Something that Amazon definitely needs to fix! *UPDATE: after hours of trying your steps still did not work sadly... :(
Thank you so much You are life saver it had gotten a Few rained drops in the charge port going from my car to my house shut it off for 2 weeks and put it in a bag of rice Issue still persisted It's been 4 weeks now and it keeps Persisting Again thank you I will try this right away
Thank you so much!! Mine just started giving this message yesterday morning after being under my pillow over night. It's in a case and didn't get near any water, so I'm not sure what triggered it. It's been a day and still getting the error. I may send it back to Amazon if it doesn't go away in the next couple of days since it's been less than a year since I bought it. First one to ever do this to me. I even reset it to factory and it still gives message. Thanks for your help!
Turns out that my kindle didn't like my fast charger that I've been using with my other Kindles. I switched to the slower one and the message went away. Wanted to mention this in case someone else wants to try this.
Thanks for thia video and glad it helped for most. Mine just automatically switched on after a while. Its incredibly annoying. Amazon is pribably very aware of this issue and its build in, so we have to buy a new one. Its no coincidence it happens just after the warranty is over for most
Looks like a nice trick to bypass the issue. When I do it, the power button on screen is not picking up the screen press. It’s like the touchscreen is disabled. Any ideas or suggestions?
Rather than the rice trick, I normally get a hairdryer on the charging port, that dries the port much quicker. I’ve purchased some alcohol to give the port a good clean with a toothbrush and the alcohol, see if it improved the charging speed
Thank you so much. It was not liquid damage but probably trying to use the wrong cable to charge my Kindle Fire. However it happened, your remedy worked like a charm, and I am so happy now to have this work-around. It's too bad someone at Amazon doesn't have your fix-it smarts. My current Kindle is actually a replacement that Amazon eventually gave me because of a defective charging port that no cable plug-in would fit. I was told that it was some defect in the original design. So, thanks.
Thanks you so much did this trick for the 2 time my nephew let his tablet die i did just as the video said but i waited for 30mins and it was still at 1% so what i did was do it again but this time i left it overnight for 6hour when i wake up it was at 90% battery but still some how it was still showing the signal so what i did was turn the devies charging port downwards and shake it and few time till the water signal disappeared then boom its working again hope this help for anyone who some how see this
Just fixed my water error! I tried every video out there and none worked. I plugged it in (it was stuck at 1%). When the Amazon logo came up I held the power and the left volume button at the same time. A REBOOT type screen popped up. I arrowed through to hard factory reset then reboot. It wiped the Fire 8 HD clean but no more water error!!! And it’s charging again 🥳
Thank you your a life changer Thank you so much i did not have water in it so i was like what the hell until i watch your video I am definitely subscribing and liking TYSM
I love this thank you! I do not know what it is not charging I went to Arizona and had to get a new one and then that got moisture in it so I got another new one and it is shutting off randomly but works and chargers fine and the second one started working again but all of a sudden started with that message so I tried this and it is plugged in and ofs and charged! Thank you!
something awesome i just learned. I did the steps of this video and it wasn't working for me. so what i did was let it come on and alarm and do nothing just let the alarm play out it will cut off start back up, it will come again and alarm still don't mess with it, it cut off and start back up and this time it will just charge
Fantastic advice, I did exactly what you said after having the same issue of the steps in the video not working, and it worked!! I went back after about 20 mins and the message had disappeared and it was charging again 😁 Thank you ❤️
I took out the plastic case, cleaned the port and reinsert the cable... It was still wet... But i did the same thing except instead of powering it off, I restarted it and ended up charging well. So i do think it is a software bug more than a hardware.
If this doesn't work. Take some tissue and wipe down the charging port. Then take some tape and attach it next to the charging port, then take small piece of tissue and stuff it inside the port. Cover the tape across the stuffed tissue. Then place your tablet upside down in the freezer for 5 minutes. Take it out of the freezer and wipe down your tablet with an old shirt or towel. Then remove the tape and tissue out of the port. Wipe down the port with the dry towel. Afterwards place a towel under the tablet and wrap the tablet with a towel. Allow the charging port to face down and allow it to drip. Allow it to sit like that for 15 minutes. Wipe the tablet with a dry towel again. Then charge it. The reason other than water could have been greasy fingers. You're allowing it to freeze and drip out of the port. Hope this helps, as it did for me.
Still looking for a root cause. They clearly have a bug in their kernel controlling charging. The fact that so many have this issue is proof. I'll use this to obtain the required 30% for a format as I can't easily tell if a recently downloaded app caused this. I inspected the top level components and saw no immediate signs of corrosion. The kids will lose some info, unless stored on the card, but I feel if a factory rest doesn't resolve this, it may require a tethered flash. Don't have the info or know how just yet, but if you do please share. I'll update this comment if your combined method to obtain the charge works. I powered it down then plugged in, so this method is different from my previous attempts. Thank you.

Is there a way to make the beeping stop? How I got my fire table Amazon was close to a wet towel but no water went in the charging cable and I am just wondering if there is a way to remove it
The reason for this happening is the charging port has slight movement after numerous charging attempts i dissasembled 1 and noticed the chsrging port has a little wiggle in it so resoldered the pins now the issue has dissapeared terrible job amazon
Should be a lawsuit against Amazon for this. It is a product defect. Have been through several of these Amazon tablets for this issue

Its not working for me. Do I need the same case uou have that keeps my screen off?
The reason for this happening is the charging port has slight movement after numerous charging attempts i dissasembled 1 and noticed the chsrging port has a little wiggle in it so resoldered the pins now the issue has dissapeared terrible job amazon
