Proof that Samsung TVs have garbage picture quality

- Except for a brief period around 2005, I’ve always found Samsung TVs to be the worst picture quality, in terms of - let’s say - realism. As bad as the worst cheap brands, but way more popular.
What I wasn’t ready for was the poor reliability - stuff goes wrong all the time around HDMI 2.1. When my Z9D dies one day, I’m definitely saving up for the brightest 8K Sony I can buy.
I do use this Samsung Q900RB every day and am happy, because:
- I bought it in 2021 for USD $1,100
- they just don’t make 8K in 40 thru 55-inch anymore
- in fact only Samsung were the only ones dumb enough to try it
- it was a one-time bargain of a factory refurbished unit
- I love seeing the 2020s-era AI upscaling at work.
This is interesting in itself.
- 8K is always a better way to view 4K. 4K for HD, HD for SD, etc.
- I do want to know what happens when my HDR content doesn’t have any Dolby Vision to fall back on. What will Apple TV do, etc?
