Great video! I wish that I had seen your video 3 months ago. I was going to move to Olathe this summer, but ultimately decided to move back to Texas. I had the Olathe Camber of Commerce to even send me a relocation packet with some great information. Now I wished that I was going to move Olathe because I could make $10,000 more as teacher in Olathe than the Austin area. One factor that changed my mind was watching the video of how much snow the KC area received this winter. I will revisit Olathe again in five years after I receive my Masters in Social Work.
@@mandfwjames6787 Thanks for watching! The snow can definitely be a deterrent. We don't get a ton, but its very erratic. We'll look forward to your visit down the road!
Jeez when you mentioned that houses in the area were new construction and would even be on discount sometimes I didn't expect you to pull up $500k+ house... that is not a discount, that is out of reach for the majority of people
Builders base discounts/incentives off of the list price, not a specific price range. In Johnson County, the lowest price you'll find new construction for is around $500,000.
It has to do with the way the school boundaries lie. However, KS passed "open enrollment", which I believe starts this June and allows students to go to any school in KS as long as there's space available.
@@kcsuburbs - Thank you. I am serious thinking about moving to Olathe for the schools. I think Niche ranks the Olathe School District #2. I am going to do more research because home prices are quite pricey on the Kansas Johnson County side compared to the Missouri side.
@@mandfwjames6787 You might look at Lee’s Summit. It’s not as pricey, but has some of the best schools on the Missouri side, according to most sources. Blue Springs has great schools too, there’s just a lot more to do in Lee’s Summit.
I feel personally attacked 🤣Definitely started my search in Overland Park and ended up with Olathe, Shawnee, and Overland Park 😂
LOL! Don't feel attacked😅 Everybody starts in OP!

Olathe houses are actually on the expensive side
Why the hell is their an olathe, lenexa, overland park, mission, mirriam, shawnee mission should all just be one town 😅
We couldn't even get a merger between Westwood and Westwood Hills in the 70's 😂
Why do some Olathe neighborhoods feed into Spring Hill School District instead of Olathe School District.
