Spoiler alert Last game Clem didnt forget his armory, he wanted to go for a 1-1 push first with the 2 tanks so he delayed his armory, then went into 2-2 with drilling claws behind it. Its a pretty standard build.
I wonder if Serral left that one overlord in the middle out on purpose as bait so Clem would push down the center. And if the bait didn't work, hey he had a free ovie out for vision conveniently placed to poo creep up a tough to contest ramp.
Just my opinions: Problem is Serral always let his guards down in undecisive matches and always win decisive matches. I notice this again and again in several tournaments. Serral always lost in the game that can be lost (except Solar recently and Reynor, Dark last two years). At this point, in decisive matches there is no way to win Serral without Zerg. Terran is close to Zerg and Protoss has no chance in the professional scene right now. Serral is probably the best SC2 right now but let us not pretend that it is not because of Zerg at all. Morever, people can disbelieve it but the time zone difference plays a huge role in any professional and international competitions either in chess, physical sports or video games. You cannot perform at your best at your sleeping time routine. That's why the athletes normally go to the olympic host country for at least one to two weeks to get used to the new time zone (even 2-3 hour difference make huge impacts). All these small factors make Zerg, and especially Serral, look imba over years. We can look at how Reynor got eliminated in GSL first round right after winning the world championship (not mentioning Astrea here). Well, I can feel Reynor being a bit cocky during that time contributed to the fact too. However, Reynor lost two straight games with Protoss to Dark with absolutely no hope. The professionals don't always put their best efforts into the game as long as it is not a decisive money match. Why should they put all efforts when they can save the best strategies, energy and focus for later? Imagine this game is the semi-final or final (no upper or lower brackets), there is no way serral played like this. For example, we could see Buyn won small to medium tournaments but there would be no way Buyn could win big tournaments where all big guys will put their best efforts. The professional players are essentially outliers in the whole SC2 community. We cannot use the SC2 statistics across all the game levels to apply to them. One professional player can almost always beat a grandmaster with less efforts they normally put into professional competition if they way. They understand the game, the mechanics and strategy, in general, better than the rest of the community.
Pro Terrans typically say it is a trade off to continue making medivacs. You have to either have an extra Starport to tech lab, or swap a starport over to a techlab used by another building, meaning the starport can't be used for medivacs during that time (several minutes) and whatever was using the tech lab can't be making tech lab units (tanks, marauders, cyclones, ghosts). They want to spend that 400 minerals on a CC to make it an orbital instead and save on gas, plus the orbital gets a lot of value over time on its own, let alone if it needs to fly around to replace a destroyed cc or start up a new base. Personally I think at least one raven is worth it, but I'm certainly nowhere near a pro level Terran to be arguing against their strats. I'm sure they've run the numbers plenty of times.
Because when youre playing bio generally you dont tech lab starports unless you trying to go early banshees for harass or a bc cheese. Your medivac production is way too important to give up so you just build up a surplus of orbitals because its more efficient.
38:46 serral can expand and drone up.. and hold for about a minute there, as the worker count is still pretty low... I always think 44 is a good number... Serral shoudl of weaved in worker every 3 roaches...... so an all in isn't an all in.. I always havea bakc up plan, tpyically in my first attackis damage.. and macro behind it,,, but then i invert my mind and drone, and create 1 roach.... so if yo ufail.. you split your larva working...
usually only in extreme lategame when they get +3 attack and blueflame and 1-shot them. Hellbats do great vs lings but they tend to get blown up by banelings very quickly in fights before they can get much done, and they lack the giant explosive firepower of widow mines or the long range of siegee tanks

maru just won his 7th gsl beating a zerg in the final, a tournament which was totally dominated by terran, just like worlds was in which we have a terran world champion after a tvt final..
Dark does crazy aggression strats like no other Zerg. Clem always seems to have Serral's number; even in cases where Serral manages to win, he has a very hard time vs Clem.
Damn. Clem plays Terrain like Serral plays Zerg. Clem's Marines move like they just did an eightball with a shot of Redbull with no sex in 3 weeks. Muthafu*kers are aggressive.
Raven is the most underused unit in TvZ IMO. It could save so many scans to clear creep e.g. And since 1 scan = 200 minerals, that seems quite strange to me. Maybe you delay medivacs too much for your first attack, but how often do you see Terran scan twice early game? That is a full CC that could have been build instead...
Hey Pig! Thanks so much for another terrific cast. You are easily my favorite caster and one of the main reasons I still tune in to pro SC2 matches. Just wanted to offer one comment. There are so many tournaments that it's hard to keep track of what's at stake, where they're playing, what happens if either player loses, etc. Any info you can share to help frame the tournaments would be greatly appreciated! (PS my fiancé just saw me writing this and is giving me all kinds of shit lol but I stand by my fandom!)
Top tier Ts from Korea stands little chance against Serral, at least in 2023. I wonder what Clem does differently that helps him have square results against Serral
heavier focus on window mines instead of tanks. mines require much higher awareness/micro/trigger reflexes to use than tanks which are "auto attack" mostly. Since clem is micro/attack focused, he uses mines a lot more. They are less expensive than tanks and fit into his playstyle.
Constant attack and being aggressive to forcefully put serral out of his comfort zone, slowing down the creep spread tremendously by keep attacking and not let him take control of the map, dude didn't even have time to repair his medivacs lol
@@pokerchannel6991 I'm the first one to say zerg is broken, but Clem should've made a raven, plain and simple. In fact I would argue you should always make a raven because it shuts down some of zerg's strategies which makes their actions a little more predictable. And now you've got a defensive raven building energy so you can have some defense in case of runbys or pushes.

Does anyone else think it's unrealistic that a burrowed zergling would prevent a massive building from landing on the ground? Annoying zerg game exploit that compounds economic advantage by forcing scans instead of mules. Seems more likely that the terran command center should kill anything burrowed underneath it when it lands.
