- The History: The origin of downhill skiing at Kimberly dates all the way to the late 1950's, with the construction of the Maverick T-Bar. In 1967, the ski hill installed the Murray-Latta Buckhorn double chairlift. The town of Kimberly owned the ski hill at this time. By the mid 1970's, the town seeked to further expand the mountain, and by 1975, ordered a Doppelmayr triple chair to serve a terrain expansion. The Easter Chair is a very early Doppelmayr triple chair that originally sported unique center-pole chairs. Throughout the years, the Easter Chair has remained a critical point of Kimberly's lift system, and remains one of the most popular lifts on the mountain. Easter services the upper half of the expansive backside of the resort, while the Tamarack double services the lower half. The Easter Chair's original center-pole chairs were replaced in 2012 with Doppelmayr triple chairs relocated from Nakiska, Alberta.

Doppelmayr EJ chairs are hands down my favorite chairs out there, I love the simple look to them. Happy New Year as well!!
They are a timeless design for sure. The fact that the EJ model has been around since the 80's says something regarding the durability and quality of the design.
Happy new year!
The tensioning system on this is wild. It's similar to what Hall used on some of their lifts but on a much larger scale. Heck, even the operators shack is part of the bottom terminal.
BTW happy new year!
It's by far the quirkiest Doppelmayr lift I've ever ridden. I've seen the entire bottom terminal move significantly if the lift has a sudden stop. It's quite something. It's also stupidly loud.
Too bad I couldn't have experienced the center pole triple chairs though.
Happy new year!
