    Revlon needs to sponsor this because you are pushing their product very well. I'm sooo tempted to buy this! SO much easier than straightening thick curly hair

      Hi! Idk if you ever bought it, but I have crazy frizzy hair and was so tired of waiting for it to dry then straightening it. I was really skeptical about the revlon, I didn't think it would actually make my hair straight enough to be comparable to flat iron, but I bought it and now I use my straightener to curl my hair more than I use it to straighten my hair. I literally love the revlon brush so much, I cannot say enough good things about it. (The only thing negative I'll say is that they aren't very durable. The motor went out on the first one I bought after 4 or 5 months, so if you can get it from somewhere like target that offers a warranty I'd recommend that. And then the second one I bought I ended up having to replace after about 6 months to a year because the bristles were falling off but I think that was because I used it so much. I still happily went out and bought a new one because I am practically reliant on it at this point. It took my shower -> work ready hair routine from an hour to 20 ish minutes. If you're on the fence and haven't bought it yet then I'd really recommend going for it.)

    I’ve had the Revlon for about 9 months now and I can’t live without out. It’s the best blow dryer/ straightener . I rarely if ever use my actual straightener. My hair type is wavy frizzy. More frizzy than curls. Like this girl I have a lot of hair and the Revlon tool works quickly. I highly recommend it. Love it! ❤️❤️❤️

      The heat is very hot and is similar to hair straighteners. So it could potentially damage hair if you don’t protect it. I spray on a heat protector on my hair just before I use it.

    Your review of the revlon vs the knockoff was the reason why I went ahead and bought the knockoff. This type of styler is a game changer for my thick, wavy hair. I am able to dry and straighten my hair in under 20 minutes. Normally, it would take an hour and multiple tools. 💜

    I have both of these and am a Dyson convert. You need to dry 80-90% with the dryer attachment then go in with the brush (and use the paddle brush! It’s just as big as Revlon) I have thick long hair, have no time and can get bone straight in 10 min. Also Dyson is way lower heat, Revlon was damaging my hair, none with Dyson after months of use.

    My hair is longer than Julissa's but it only took me about 15 mins to give myself a complete blowout with the Dyson Airwrap, and I don't consider myself an expert with the tool yet. The key is to use it on almost-dry (about 10-20% dry depending on how fine your hair is) hair - Dyson explicitly states that this is a styling tool and not a dryer. There's a separate blowdryer attachment for that purpose. You're not supposed to use this on damp hair because that will take too long - that's why the tool overheated (it uses a technology that's really powerful, so naturally leaving it on for 3 minutes to do each section will get the tool really hot). You're supposed to turn it on for maybe 30 seconds at a time, turn it off, and move to the next section. To set the curl at the end, you're supposed to switch to the cool air setting and twirl it around for a few extra seconds. Also I have the Revlon too and it's great as a quick styler on damper hair, but if I'm looking for something other than a simple sleek look (note: there's another attachment in the Dyson kit that better achieves that than this round brush), I'd prefer the Dyson because it gives the hair a lot more bounce and the results are long-lasting (I have oily hair so I wash it every 1-2 days, and it usually lasts well into the 2nd day). I do have straight, fine hair that's easier to style so maybe the Revlon is better for curly hair after all, but I just want to clarify that the Dyson isn't as bad as it seems in this video (other than the price).

    • @Ordgrill
      @Ordgrill 4 роки тому +1

      Michelle Lee agree. If she wanted the same look as the rebook one there is a different attachment for it (a bigger flat brush, that can also give you volume) the smaller one is as you said for damp hair and when you want even more curl and volume, really makes the hair look like a blowout from a salon

The Dyson hit 190 deg F after being on for a few minutes (high heat and speed). The Revlon I couldn't even measure because it immediately went over the range of my thermometer which had a 220 deg F limit, and warped the plastic cutting board I was using to protect my counter haha.

    Hi- that round brush on the dyson is not meant for your hair type. That’s for giving body to “fine, limp hair”. I have that attachment and only use it for my bangs. You need to use the firm smoothing brush to straighten your hair. I love it!! I find the revlon really damages my hair. Just thought I would tell you what helps me. We have similar hair and I researched the dyson attachments a lot before buying it. I know you didn’t like the paddle brush but the key is holding the section by the end and brushing thorough. You can’t just brush it through without the tension of holding it or it won’t straighten. Hope you give that a try and it works 😊it’s saved me a lot time and damage!

    If anyone is concerned about heat damage, the hot tools version is more expensive, but uses less heat all around. I got mine on sale, use it almost daily, and don’t have any heat damage (granted I go overboard on the heat protectant and hair masks). I have thick, silky, long hair and I love using the one styler to give me voluminous, Victoria’s Secret waves. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a hair tool.

In the directions is says to dry the hair partly then use the round brush attachment. It's actually meant for smooth volume only. It works amazingly on my hair for that. If you have fine hair it works even better and gives big volume!! Hope this helps.

      I find that odd. I use the Hot Tools version of the Revlon brush twice a week on my super dry, breakage-prone frizzy and curly hair and it makes it like smooth silk and it's never been healthier. The key is a really good heat protectant. I love the Amika serum. It's made my hair even healthier than the past 5 or so years before I got the brush (I've been using it for 8 months now) where I didn't blow dry or use any heat at all on my hair. I'm not sure if those who have damage with the Revlon are holding it in place too long, using it on hair that is too wet, or what. I use the highest heat setting and about half dry hair and get compliments on how shiny and long it is. Also, I have insanely thick hair (every haircut I've had, the stylist says it's the thickest they've ever seen) and it's past my boobs and I spend about 25-30 minutes drying it tops.

  • @VermillionRii
    @VermillionRii 2 роки тому +11

    My hair is around a 3c and it's waist long.
    I have both dryers, and Dyson is hands down better for the simple fact that it's non-damaging and it dries faster on curly hair. The attachment that's supposed to be used is the paddle attachment. Curly hair will crease on a round attachment because you're introducing a curl on already curly hair. The Revlon brush is more of a flat round brush and that's why it's straightening the hair, but it's not worth the extra damage; especially if you color or perm your hair often.

      Buy it used, it'll save you about 300 dollars. There's a lot of websites selling it for 200ish. You don't need all the attachment either, only the round brush and the smoothing brush. It'll save you a lot of money if you don't buy the full set.

For frizz prone hair you should have been using the smoothing brush attachment not the round brush, while thats the most similar looking thing to the revlon. I use Revlon everyday. Love, Love it. I dried my wet hair with regular dryer first, then finish off with the Revlon. This way I get to straighten my shoulder length hair in less than 10 mins. I do hate the noise.

    I get straight and beautiful full waves with my Revlon! I will never not have it on hand. I would suggest, before pulling it out, give the barrel a twirl, hold it, then release your hair . Just like professionals do when they blow out your hair. The volume this method gives is sick. Like I said, I love my Revlon ❤️

Agree with you as the Revlon did give a better end result for you hair but I’m intrigued by what else the Air wrap can do.

      HELP> dyson vs. revlong. pls help guys. i have thick, coarse, 3b curly hair that ive been straihgten for a while: flat iron 2 years, revlon for a year. i have so much heat damage despite usong the revlong for the past year along with hair oiling and hair masks weekly. so many split ends and so much breakage. i assume the revlon is better than the titanium flat iron i used earlier, and its wayy faster too. but... it is causing damage, so i bought the dyson. pls help me. idk if i should return it. actually, my mom bought it for me bc im a kid. but idk if its worth it. i tried the round brush attachment once and here is my verdict: my roots are wayyyy flatter than from the revlong bc of the smaller barrel. used less time than the revlon.
      **someone whose used both can u tell me if the dyson is heat damaging? or if youve only used the dyson on curly hair, have u noticed heat damage???? pls help me. ill feel rly guilty if i waste my mom's money. it's ONLY worth it to me if the round brush dyson is less HEAT DAMAGING than the revlon. i like using the curling barells, but that's not why i bought it.

    After so many reviews I feel like it’s personal preference. I notice people that have short, thin hair prefer the Dyson. But ppl with thick, long hair prefer the Revlon. Me personally, I can’t compare because I have a lot of hair and it’s thick and super long ... I will stick with using my Revlon. My hair is down to my hurt and I did my hair yesterday in 28 minutes. Yes, I timed it.
    I will say, it’s heavy and that’s something I guess I have to get used to but I also won’t be using it every day.

    Check the noise level decibels on the box. Hearing loss begins at 85 decibels. Hairdryers average between 82-89 decibels, some as high as 103, and are used close to the ears for a period of time. Permanent hearing damage can occur over time. Be smart, wear hearing protection.

    I bought the Dyson as i live in the UK and struggled to find the revlon thought they had stoped selling it. But i found the product amazing you can tell from using it it doesn’t dry out your hair they way a normal dryer would. But i agree with previous comments for your hair you would notice a massive difference with the normal brush attachments they dry your hair out lovely and sleek, i personally hate the round attachment as it is very fiddley and hard to get the result expected from it, i definitely would love to try the revlon as i recently found it in local store was annoyed to find it as purchased the Dyson purely on the fact i couldn’t find it , but as it is better for your hair was money well spent as i suffer from damaged hair and always breaks i find far less breakage with using the Dyson and i suppose that is what you want.

      @@sarahmonique5321 Let me rephrase. For me with thick, curly hair, that attachment is utterly useless (it's designed for fine, straight hair), and it's definitely not meant to be used for the purposes she is using it for. Literally every other attachment is magic, including the not one but TWO straightening brushes that come with it (one is for thicker hair). From wet hair I can straighten my hair in less than 3 minutes with the dyson. I can meticulously curl it (from wet hair) in about 15, probably less if I were being less careful. And it never gets above 300 degrees so it doesn't burn and damage your hair. I've also owned the Revlon but I don't even touch it now.

    • @sarahmonique5321

      @@piginspandex I've actually read some good reviews about the Dyson, but seeing a number of UA-cam vids on it made me think twice about even wanting it. I've only seen where it performs slightly better than some dryers that are a fraction of its cost, if it performs better at all. This isn't the only video I've seen demonstrating the Dyson, and as far as I can tell (for me personally), it wouldn't be worth its price tag. Their vacuums are awesome tho.
