Poplar body. Very resonant. 1 year later, and I still love this guitar (even color is quite awesome). Best setup out the box ever received. So comfortable to play. Thanks again, Mr. Manifesto.
Great guitars especially for the price 👌
0:16 the money shot right there!
Love seeing you review the HB guitars. The quality is madness compared to blocks of wood that passed as cheap guitars when I first started playing back in the early 00s!
🤣🤣 heck yeah 😜
Budget guitars have come a long way that's for sure
Excellent review! That's how it must be made. The budget guitars now a days are way way better than these in the 90's.
No bs just cool guitars 👌🎸
Nothing beats a guitar that's ultra affordable and upgradable while out of box stays in tune ...a set up is usually all that's needed. Today is the best time to play. Imagine the 80s. The cheap guitars were absolute garbage. Hahah love the playing on this one too brother !!!!!!!
Oh totally agree this bad boy was good to go, neck relief and intonation was pretty much band on I just had to tweak the string height.
Ah man even in the early 90s most budget guitars were firewood 🔥🤣 glad you liked the riffage on this one. Keep rocking rack of Ribster
You've done it justice, Rob. Pretty amazing for the budget of budget guitars.
Thank you very much, its certainly a gem and man the price is unbelievable
Have trusted your bass reviews for years it seems, Mr. Guitar Manifesto. Played "Dive" quite well in a demo and was instantly 100% legit in my eyes. So also went ahead & trusted your guitar review of this fine instrument. Truly "Standard" series, as in sets the standard for all others. Like you've gotta be kidding me with this axe! So, so goodly. Thanks so much. I'm down with HB for life as long as QC don't start slipping. Thomann be my new source for electric bass & guitar gear (especially when I can work the shipping a bit).
Thank you very much 😃 these Harley Bentons are great guitars for sure, crazy considering the price
I bought the exact same model just to try a Tele style guitar and what you get is much much more than what you paid for. Looks cool, plays easy, stays in tune rather well, and sounds surprisingly good from clean acoustic to metal to very much anything in between. I could not ask more for 89 euros.
Simple yet effective 💯🎸
No issues for me. The bridge saddles are a little annoying but it is good as it is. Very good, for any price
I agree with everything you've except
that the stock strings are okay. I changed them for decent strings and it made a big difference.
I love the chunky neck profile and find the pickups good, although the neck pick is a bit dull. Not a big deal though. Teles are all about the bridge pickup and that sounds fine.
Build quality and tuning stability are impressive. A great guitar for the money.
If you watch ALL the video I do mention I would change the strings 🤣
@@theguitarmanifesto Fair enough. I enjoyed your video.
Rock on brother 🎸🤘😎
40 quid is just nuts 66 new I mean jesus when you consider what was on offer when I was a kid back in the 80s !
Totally amazing for the money, yeah exactly 🤣
I've got the Harley Benton TE52 VT in American ash with the blackguard, and it's a lovely guitar. the only issue i have with it
is it's weight, 9.5lbs?!?!? and a slightly microphonic bridge pup, but the neck feel, and carve, is just perfect for someone with big hands, and used to the very thinline Squier Strat neck, or even the Fender Strat, as I have both, Also in my collection, is a HB CST24t and its the best guitar I have? for a PRS clone, it is the best neck feel, and quality finish, I've seen on a budget guitar, stainless steel frets, and set neck? you couldn't get this quality for less than £1000, with any other builder. GO HARLEY BENTON!
Hi Rob, great review. I've seen a couple of reviews on this, mostly positive for the money, but some badly set up out of the box.
Is this model difficult to set up?
Thanks. 🎸👍
I spraypaint the neck whit varnish a couple of laps. It looks very Nice now Most budget brands seems to save up on that ( not only harley, spuire.., every budget) almost untreated necks.
Rest is fine i think on this, atlest for the money its a bargain.
Great looking and sounding guitar but I notice the bridge pickup seemed to have bit more gain?
But what a desk you scored www! So nice to see someone mention Tom /Skip form Axess2084 channel he was a very good friend.
The bridge does have a bit of bite to it, yeah we used to speak a lot about budget guitars 😢
That shade of blue I rarely ever have a complaint about, and this case is no different. It looks good for a T Style guitar, and it sounds pretty good as well.. Mind you, I am not a T Style guitar person, so this is the best compliment I could give. I am not a huge fan of 25.5 inch scale guitars, I can play them of course, but I prefer 24-24.75 inch guitars, bending just feels better to me. I think that could be why I am not a fan of T style guitars, well that and to me they feel like a large chunk of unrefined wood in my hands, though I am not sure I can put it into words as to why they feel that way in my hands.. Of course, a lot of it could be that I just don't have the talent or skill to play a T style guitar.. I like the middle position and the bridge, but that goes for most guitars really...
Keep up the good work, and yes I would change the pots and tuners and of course new strings and I would do a decent fret shining....
I hope all is well, good luck and good day :)
It's a no thrills workhorse of a guitar for sure 💯🎸
I was always a gibson guy too. I love fender now
@@Ottophil
I am not a fan of expensive guitars, so for me it would be ether Squire or Epiphone or of course Jackson or even Ibanez.... or many others honestly lol.
Brilliant playing and Great review 😎
omg that bridge pickup sounds great for the price
The pickups are very impressive
Very good guitare for the price 👍👍👍👍
That's cool!
Did you look inside; under the scratch plate?
I haven't yet but will be soon
Awesome find! YES-new string-playing someone's used strings is like wearing someone else's underwear!! LOL Bone nut-Grover Minis??-Off ya go!!
I have the TE-20HH SBK with the matte black satin finish for only €99 and i'm mind blown of how good the guitar is. The setup was crap but it didn't took much time to modifide and setup. Harley Benton does make some great guitars.
Awesome guitars for the money and great for modding
@@theguitarmanifesto let me correct myself: TE-20HH SBK😜 I said 22. But agree, very great for modding.
I knew what you meant 😃
Now £79 + £10 pp
Man you always find great deals lol" Awesome nice find Manifesto! Love the color the maple neck its shAweet! It's like new like you said... man what a deal! Lol" sounds Fantastic! Great tune Manifesto Kickazzzzz Telecaster!! It sure don't look second hand lol"
😂 oh yes I'm always on the lookout for a bargain 😜 yeah she's a real beaut amazing guitar for the money. Glad you digged the jam 🤘💯
@@theguitarmanifesto lol" ain't nothing better than a Guitar Manifesto tune! The Tele definitely sounds great we can't find deals like that here ever lol"
Heck yeah 🤘you can't find them here cause I'm usually first 🤣
@@theguitarmanifesto God does this have great clarity to it deciding what guitar is my number one is gonna be hard been using my Sony headphones your sounding so good Rob!!! 🤣
I've had some good guitars lately 🤣 what a bargain this one was, thanks brother glad you're liking my playing
Looked and sounded great, then you showed the guitar! lol Seriously though, that is a great guitar, and you did a great demo of it.
🤣🤣 it got off to a good start 😜 thank you very much, such a cool guitar for no money. Very nice to play and looks badass 🤘💯🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto Yeah I just wish it had a rosewood fretboard. I just can't get my brain around playing on a light fretboard with dark markers.
I think the rosewood (composite) HB models are over £100
@@theguitarmanifesto plus shipping to the US
Dark wood stain is a lot cheaper 🤣😃
Did you hear about the latest Harley Benton release: MR-Classic/modern (mosrite/ hi-flier copy) hope you’ll make a review on it!
Yes I see a video pop up on UA-cam this morning, look pretty darn cool to me
The classic is £205 not a bad price
@@theguitarmanifesto yes, as a Nirvana Fan it’s tempting to get one, there aren’t many reviews on UA-cam yet, but it seems HB guitars are pretty ok for that price..
Oh yes definitely, the Harley Bentons I've owned have all been pretty darn good
Does it worth to buy that guitar as first?
Most definitely, it's a fine guitar
At this rate Harley Benton is going to severely hurt Squier...I have been a devoted loyal Squier player and collector my whole life but let's face it : At the end of the day a Tele is a Tele and HB is making EXCELLENT guitars...
I have already added the SG Junior and the Custom with 3 humbuckers and I might add other models too...
Of course at this price I Know I might have to level the frets and since the pickups are good enough I'll still shield the cavities and upgrade the electronics with new pots and switch, etc...But overall I'm blown away with the quality at this price...Great demo by the way...
I totally agree, for £66 you're getting a guitar in-between a bullet and a Affinity in terms of quality
How does it compare to the fazley tele’s. Is it same thing or is one better than the other ?
Pretty much the same
why is everyone making out that this guitar is great out of the box, mine was out of tune, no setup and jack plug solder broken, frets need work, fingerboard very dry and inlays printed on
Mine was fine 😅
Wow, 52 US dollars!
Unbelievable guitar for the money 💰
Is there much hum on the neck pickup? Thanks.
Not really
I have no idea how you make and sell a new guitar for £66. Where is the exploitation happening?
Chinese sweatshops
Exploitation is the value added taxes, which are already included in the 66 pounds!
Dunno how you make a guitar at that price really don't. Blows my mind
Just goes to show how the big companies are ripping people off big time
I was just about to make a comment saying the same, granted you can get better parts on a higher priced guitar but for £66 new ....unbelievable 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
@@mattdoliver1984 to be honest the neck is good and the body is solid, the rest can be easily upgraded if needed
So even if you say £30 for the body £30 for the neck be hard pushed to get that anywhere else, it’s worth buying just to upgrade it 👍🏼
Sounded pretty decent as is aswell Rob 👌🏼✌🏼
Exactly 💯💰 I'm happy how it feels and plays, the pickups have that classic Tele bite, I think upgrading the pots and cap will bring a bit more definition out. Tusq nut, decent strings and you're good to go I say.
Your playing is amazing, but this one just doesn't sound good to me.
It's a good platform to mod that's for sure 💯
@@theguitarmanifesto Absolutely. It looks like you did enjoy playing it, so technically it is just a matter of pickup change and I am sure the guitar be blastin'!
Like I said in the video, I'd try replacing the pots and capacitor first that can sometimes bring the pickups to life
Even brand new these are for nothing!
Totally, unbelievable price
