New subscriber here! Thanks for the detailed drafting tutorial. Of all the Filipiniana sleeve tutorials I watched, this is by far the best one that explains how to draft the sleeve pattern based on body measurement and proportion. 💖 I also appreciate your commentary on the reference books you used. Thanks Shilyn!

Hi, sorry for the late response! Traditionally, you would handstitch the sleeve onto the dress (manipulating the plates closer to the armpit) and remove it after use, so you can store it flat. But you can sew it by machine if you want it permanently!

dapat may pellon para patigas ang filipiniana sleeve
@@박봄-l2q Yes, interfacing (pellon) can be used to make it harder....traditional way is starch, which is what I used :)
Omg thank you so much!, ive been looking for more technical and authentic way on how to create this sleeve 😍🙏

💓💓💓💓💓
Thank you so much for sharing this. Can I ask where can I find the book.?
I bought it from artbooks.ph . They ship internationally, but the shipping is expensive so I personally bought other books I was interested in as well
Thank you for this tutorial
you're welcome!
This is awesome! Thank you! Where did you buy the books?
So sorry I missed this! I got it from artbooks.ph 😊 if you are in the US, I recommend ordering multiple books because shipping is expensive
I noticed you have 2 sewing machines, what are there differences?
One of them is a serger or overlocker. It helps by making the edges have a clean edge and stops fabric from fraying!
Hi! Thank you for this 🥰 Could I request you do a tutorial on how to sew/attach the filipiniana sleeve to the dress? Thank you!

Question: My actual legth is 12” (+ 6.5”= 18.5”). In measuring my underarm which would i divide to 3, is it 12” or 18.5”???
The 18.5!

Gamit ka pelon para tumigas un tela
Yes, you can use interfacing, but it's not traditional. If you want sheer sleeves, you can't use it! Organza is better, or even tulle.
