- Old trucks. We love looking at ‘em, talking about them, and dreaming of building them. But one thing you gotta realize, these things are usually a “don’t meet your heroes” type situation. But then, there’s the Ring Brothers - a crew that rebuilds old cars and trucks to the way you WANT them to drive. No surprises. Other than power levels, maybe…

a whole lot of steering input to keep that thing going straight.
Well it is a short wheel base leaf sprung straight axle so that’s kinda what you get.
@@titanary68 my 89 jeep with the stock steering box and two inches of play is titers then this thing.
I'm thinking that Larry just isn't used to driving a vintage truck. I've driven old Blazers. And it doesn't take that much effort to keep them straight. When be.got on it he didn't seem to put as much effort into keeping it straight. So probably just nerves on his part. The chick didn't seem to be adjusting the steering as much as Larry and she was going alot slower. Just my humble opinion.
that dude doesn't know how to drive a truck
@@pickledbabies king of a stereotypical thing too don't forget, dude's asian 😂😂😂 its in his nature
[23:44] "Jeep owners wave at each other, K5 owners throw each other a Coors Light" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that was a good one!!
25:51 This is exactly why my 72 K5 Blazer is going to be going 2wd conversion but lifted pre-runner style. I want it to basically do coil over setup meant for autocross but with lift spindles. I love my Blazer but the ride and handling leaves a ton to be desired. I would love to figure out how to make it similar to my past couple SRT Jeeps in handling with AWD...that would be fantastic!
One of my favorite K5 builds
For that many hundreds of thousands of dollars, I was surprised when he said it's on a stock chassis. Given the level of this build, I thought for sure it would be on a modern one, the way Icon and so many others do it.
Agreed. Honestly I wouldn't have thought it was a ring brothers build just looking it to be honest.
@@nikolaip4947 99
The more I think about it it does fit the ring brothers style. Attention to detail and build quality, but its still a vehicle that you can actually drive and enjoy without the fear of having a $500,000 ring brothers build
And I thought for sure it would have had an overdrive transmission instead of a 350TH 3 speed non overdrive transmission great can't freeway cruise without the motor sounding like the pistons are going to shoot out the motor.Get the HELL out here with a couple of $100,000.00 dollars.maybe $50,000.00-$65,000.00 at the most.No overdrive,No 1 ton axles like Dynatrac's
Even with the bigger tires I was surprised to see how much correcting he was doing while going down a pretty straight road. Must be the original style steering box. That said, I have a lot of respect for the brothers. I like what she said here 31:55 ....funny
That's a great talk with Elana and your back story together. Why no insert with the picture from Hot Rod cover?
I can imagine the Oakley wraparounds loving this at Sema. Nice to see Elana!
I had a 71' k5 blazer and loved it, top off and on . Awesome in the summer and winter. Wish I still had it
These classic blazer are an easy sale, Chevy fans missed these 4x4 so much.
Well this ass back when trucks were trucks like you could off road on the weekends and drive it to work on Monday mentality when they built them back in the day. And it's just a piece of classic American muscle off road. Plus it rides like a modern day car.
Really is the body work that brings a build to that next level, only thing you can't buy online to bolt on.
Wish I had learned the trade like my father, clean metal is where all the value is in classic cars because nobody wants to do body work.
I know a guy that still knows how to "lead it" instead of bondo..if you still wanna learn. He's old and diabetic and not much time left.
Beautiful K5. Makes me appreciate my C10 even more

K5 blazers seem so high up when you’re driving them, in a good way. Always dug these, since I was a teenager. 🤘🔥😎🔥🤘
Nice new outro video, and thanks for staying with that sweet track. I need it in one of my playlists so I can play it in a loop a few dozen times. 🤘😁🏁
Love everything about this beautiful truck chill folks small history lesson good vibes
That Truck looks sweet! Really like that Shade of Green. It's simple, clean and just a super rad truck! Really well done ✅
I don't know shit about vehicles but that may be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on the road
Looks like someone needs to take this truck to the alinement shop.
Awesome collab Larry, you’re an inspiration to me and many, haters gonna hate 🤙 peace love and respect from Aus
Beautiful truck😍
That Build Was Beautiful
That’s an updated outro! Still fire! 🙌🏼🔥
Super nice K5 BLAZER HELL YEAH MAN
Beautiful blazer ... But the original 70 blazer grill is better looking. This grill is from a 71-72
So that's worth about 80k to 125k depending on the consumer... Definitely no more .... stock front springs stock chassis stock body except the hood louvers. Total joke for 300 to 400k . Don't get me wrong it's absolutely beautiful and I love it but to think it's worth that much is ridiculous. I should be a millionaire long time ago .... charging for there name and one off parts .
Imagine you could buy Gwagon 4x4 with that money and still have $100k~ left to buy very nice classic truck.
Gorgeous rig!! Feel like it could use another 2 in or so to fix the stance. And maybe some different dynamics for that front end or something cuz that steering was concerning
I really like that green they did a one hell of a job very pretty
I like that green grabber color on a old 79-80 toyota Pick up 4x4.. it'll be nice asf!
GM needs to build a new K5 like or similar to this one brand new. They would have lines of people placing orders for there’s. I would love to see GM building a K5 this big not the little one it needs to have a removable top for sure.
The suspension was interesting with the inverted leafs
Looking forward to ring bros rebuild of the most stately of off-roaders, the S10 Blazer
Cool Ring Brothers Commercial...........
Yeah!
Truck is sick asf but the steering is crazy. My K5s turning is nothing like that😂
at 31:33 the panel gaps on that photo are hilarious considering she leads into talking about how good the fitment is.
Also, this thing doesn't even go down the road straight. Would be a great Blazer if it weren't priced like it is. Great for 65k and shit for 400k.
looks like just a hood hinge adjustment issue lol
I have C10 1969 and it used to have the same level of steering input so I take it to the mechanic and he said that it is not supposed to do that.
Ya gotta really wheel that thing 😲
Ring Bros is in Wisconsin...I've been past their place a few times. Wi #1.
No way in hell for the suggested price ... leave it to Icon
I want that blazer
Them HRE's are HOT SAUCE!!
Did they say it was the stock steering box? Mine handled terribly until I had the ball joints done. Now it's 'okay.'
Why does this guy talk about the truck like he’s trying to sell it
Everything is for sell at the right price
Ring Brothers are giving it away, through Omaze if I remember correctly
That's just Larry. He really loves vehicles. And he is definitely detail oriented. Better than the other dude who was like...ehhh it's a truck. The other dude and that chuck are definitely NOT car people.
Interesting to see the difference in what these guys do to a K5 vs ICON’s interpretation. Both hideously expensive, one actually produced serially…
Dream
Elana is my favvvvvvvvv
Honestly it looked sketchy going down the road
The GM designers in 1970 had no vision of how this would be.
Awesome car but would be cooler if it had an optional roof you can put on somehow even if it’s soft top, just in case it rains, makes it more daily drivable.
What’s the outro song
The Ring brothers enough said
This Truck is live on BAT now! Happing bidding, should be interesting to see the final $...
What is BAT?
@@joeshulman2501BAT I believe is Bring A Trailer. It's a website where people list vehicles they want to sell.
Great job! It’s too nice for me though. I would destroy that so fast.
This thing must've cost $650,000 to build from the Ringbrothers
*Larry rapping in the title*
What’s with all the play in the steering wheel? Not knocking it just don’t remember my dads original 70 Chevy c10 doing anything close to that.
The steering is insane .-.
Anybody know what headlights these are ?
Hardware is from ARP
Ring Brothers fit and finish is on another level.
I don't get seats without headrests do they want to break their neck in an accident
Looks like they're driving on a slalom course...$300-400k!
Drive by Tanning?
How could you do a build like this with titanium bolts and not put an upgraded steering box on it? For shit sake someone call and order a Borgeson!!
I see the air conditioning. Where did they put a heater?
What happens if it rains
Where is the top???
Seems to have alot of play on the steering wheel.
Paint is called "growler green" nothing to do with the tires.
that steering is seriously loose! I had a 1972 Blazer (orange) and the steering was never that bad......
It’s a ZZ Top “La Grange” kinda car
R.I.P.
There's a Ford bronco with a 520 stroker doing 4x4 burnouts on the hoonigan channel... way better
Because thats what classic 4x4 is supposed to do, burnouts.
Beautiful truck no doubt, but that steering is not working properly for a build like this. The driver is going to get super fatigue on a hour trip and is not safe.
It was a truck when GM made them, and they looked good for the time and the purpose for which they were made. It's now a fast trick custom truck but still a truck, not a car.
Love you Larry, Love the RB and all their work. But what the F..k is wrong with the steering system? It’s disappointing to watch.
That's what $3-400k will get you? 🤣🤣🤣
Shouldn't have that much play... I had shot tie rod ends on my 75 and it drove straighter I dunno, rest is sweet..
25:31 why youre here
Why have AC if it's always top less
this kahn media guy or whatever the name was, sounds alot like chairslayer
Is that Darren’s car from Animal kingdom?
Yeah it’s super clean but there is absolutely nothing about this build that makes it worth 3-400k other than having their name on it. You could purchase every single part they used for under 100k even if you paid i high end body shop 20k for a paint job this blazer could be built for $120k max. Not to mention 3-400k for a basic 3spd turbo 350 and a NP205 transfer case? How about a 6L80 and a Atlas 2 for that kind of money.
Preach brotha especially on stock chassis for the price is insane
@@tommoon2700 thank you! Yeah the interior was probably 40k but now it has a worthless top on it so it has to be a garage queen. For 400k it should be on a full tube chassis with coil overs and 4 linked, inverted leaf springs for 400k? Yeah I’ll pass.
@@CatNerfer3000 with the classic hot air intake lol or filter on a stick
Omaze claimed the value was 250k.
This is like the Porsche Singer of Chevy Trucks, incredibly beautiful.
that janky spring will last forever these shocks not
You could build 3 for that price
You lost me at the negative arch on the front leaf springs. That can't ride well.
Snake oil is what this is.
this thing needs a alignment
Your suppose to play rock n roll and heavy metal ..... duh ..... blue collar baby :)
What in the heck did they not do to correct the steering slop. 🤦
It's so bag.
Audio side is lacking majorly. I have seen everyday car with nice audio systems with overall look. I expected way more then what was done.
Challenge-her
All that work and they couldn’t connect the steering wheel to the wheels?
Cool blazer but afraid to floor it? Why it’s just a blazer doesn’t even have headers
over 300grand
Man there is too much play when steering. Aint that thing running on a fancy chassis?
Every bolt is not TI. If it was it would cost another 100k
He said it was a 1970, it's actually a 1972
Pavement princess
Getting famous off of comments day 341, so I can live the dream, live every day like it’s your last🤙🚀
Didn't know there was any other way, brother!
@@thursdaybird this is spam comment. I’ve seen this same comment pop up numerous times
@@JaredR1996 yep, his last comment was over 2 months ago and it was day 322
Holy cow Larry you totally tell you did ecstasy before they shoot. You're tripping out on all the fields man
Why is a Blazer called a truck? It's an SUV that was used back then. To me a truck is when there's a bed.
