- The Michigan Wolverines and Vanderbilt Commodores faced off in Game 1 of the 2019 College World Series. The Commodores beat Louisville in their clinching game to get here, while the Wolverines defeated Texas Tech in their clinching game. This is a 3 game series, with Michigan as the home team for Game 2 on 6/25 at 7PM ET, and Game 3 (if necessary) will be hosted by Vanderbilt on 6/26 at 7PM ET.

Michigan had no reason to lose that game. They had only thrown 3 pitchers in 3 games. They got a 3 day break. They have their whole bullpen. Their bats are hot. But Kumar is a very talented pitcher. He’s probably, if not the best, one of the best pitchers in college baseball right now. Interesting to see what happens tonight..

I watched the Michigan vs UCLA series and was surprised UCLA lost. In hindsight, that was the most impressive games I've seen in the College playoffs so far, as Michigan has dominated everybody else. I thought UCLA must have been overrated at that point, but now, Michigan and UCLA look like the two best teams in the country. Unfortunately for UCLA, they had to play Michigan in the regional. Michigan fans should be proud of how well their team has played. Congratulations at this point, as your team has played some of the best baseball I have seen in quite few years.

I grew up in Ann Arbor in the sixties and I have to confess I don't remember Michigan's last CWS victory in 1962. Just for grins, I looked up the team on the internet to see if I would recognize any of the players. I did not, but I googled the manager, just for fun. I stuck paydirt!! His name is Bruce Kropschot and he graduated from UM with BBA and MBA in Accounting and Finance. He now is an executive and CEO of his own company. So, a winner all his life. Wonder if he will be watching the game tonight?! GO BLUE!!!

The runner out at third for Mich, and the runner safe at first for Mich. and those cancel each other out. Mich got robbed of a run with the runner at third, and was gifted a run from the runner safe and Kerr sending a bomb.
