I'm going to try and straighten my friends wig today. She's trans and I'm giving her a makeover to make her feel more like herself. Thank you for this tutorial. Wish me luck on the makeover
Thank you! I am new to wigs and my first attempt at this made my black, straight haired wig made it a bit curly at the ends and it was tangling up. And I needed to make it work and fast since this wig will be for daily use because my school doesn’t allow colored hair. The hot water method worked so well and helped me get it back straight again in just an hour! You’re a life saver!
Our Halloween Haunted Maze theme this year is “Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” and I am Sally. I found white bell bottom pants and a light purple tank, but the long blonde wig I borrowed from my daughter was wavy. I used the hot water method, and it worked perfectly! Water temp was very hot, but not boiling. Instead of the bathroom, I did it on the back patio, and it being Phoenix, it was dry in about an hour. Your video got to the point, gave options, did demonstrations, and showed results. It was not an influencer spending 3 minutes of my life talking about themself while flinging their hair around like a 1980s shampoo ad. Thank you so much!!
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!! Method 3 is really cool also I like Method 4 without stovetop as I am traveling in hotels with small kitchen appliances thanks again !!
I'm so happy I found your video! I just received my BelleTress wig and I'm sooo disappointed because the videos show waves but this wig called amaretto is tightly curled. It is heat friendly but I'm having no luck at all trying to straighten it even a little. I'm so bummed. Well tomorrow I'll try the boiling water! What a great idea! Thanks so very much. This wig is also more low density than I thought so I hope it won't look too thin if it's straighten. I don't mind softer waves but can't achieve it so I'll try to straighten it tomorrow with hot water Thanks so very much!
I have synthetic wavy extensions and wanted to flat iron them for a different look. This tutorial was very helpful! however, what is the process to get them back to wavy? I washed them and they seem to be staying straight rather than going back to wavy. Any tips?
I can't tell you how much this will help me! Thank you so much for sharing! Quick question....after I straighten my wig, can I recurl it into my own style? I like the wig I have....just not the style and I'd like to curl it how I normally would curl my hair.
Question, how durable is your mannequin head? Will I need a new one with better resistance, or is any head fine? I plan to pour boiling water over the wig.
Hi, you can also use this on cheap wigs but it needs to be heat resistant. The hot water method is actually the most sensible one because hot water has a temperature about 100°C and other tools like flat irons, curling wands are way hotter 😅
I need a wig for my homelander costume but I could only afford a generic curly wig that has the same shape and some colour of his hair.Probeley will need to add some blonde dye in it and my homelander costume will be completed.
Hey :) Sehr hilfreiches Video. Könntest du vielleicht mal ein Tutorial machen wie man eine Wig richtig aufsetzt, insbesondere mit langen Haaren? Ich habe da nämlich sehr große Probleme mit und die Perücke steht dann immer etwas ab :/
Honestly, you're tutorial on hair is the only one I can stand. The others I've seen either give you nothing (and I mean crap with a s**y voice) or blaring it in your face with a white background and cutting every 3 seconds. Thank you for being specific and precise ❤️🙌
Hey thank you for the tutorial, and I saw your cosplay from atlantis on the intro and felt quite uncomfortable as a black and indigenous woman 😅. When a character has a different ethnicity please don't change your skin color to fit theirs (unless it's a skin tone that doesn't exist like blue or green), it kinda treats our skin colour as an aesthetic while it carries a heavy meaning. I'm ofc not telling u to not cosplay certain characters definitely not, (u can also ignore what i just said if you'd like it's your life)I also cosplay asia and white characters but just think about how you'd feel if i painted my skin 3 shades lighter just to fit into a characters look...quite uncomfortable right? 😅 Please don't take this as an offensive comment, I'm just trying to bring awareness to the fact that my race is not a costume.
Hi Marie! First of all thank you for watching my videos and your support! Yeeah you are absolutely right, thats why I stopped cosplaying kida and also poccahontas some years and ago. I never did any type of blackfacing with makeup or photoshop but I guess it was still not okay to wear them during my vacation times when I was obviously very tanned. This is definitly one of the reasons why I am not using this type of intro in my newer videos anymore. But I just realized that I still have to change my banner. Thank you for spreading awareness
But it's cosplay... Like literally the entire point is to look like the character as much as possible, and if the cosplayer puts in the effort to paint their entire body, more kudos to them. It really not that deep, especially when it's a fictional character. If you were to paint your skin 3 shades lighter, it would be exactly the same, I doubt anyone would feel uncomfortable about that.
I don’t understand why people who do cosplay don’t just buy decent hair. Synthetics have come so far and get your wearing plastic on top of your head and it’s absolutely making me cringe

Thanks for this! I got a black wig for Morticia and it was way too curly, and the hot water method did the trick!
Nicely down. I like the hot water in shower then let it dry. Can’t make it easier. Thxs much
I already bought my wig and decided that my cosplay would be better straightened but I didn’t wanna cancel my order this tutorial is helpful a lot

Hii, I do have a another tutorial on my channel where I'm showing different techniques on how to curl synthetic hair 😊
I can't tell you how much this will help me! Thank you so much for sharing!

Sure! I also have a video up on how to curl wigs 👌
Ich habe deine tipp ausprobierert. Mit Haarföhn!

Danke für dein Feedback! Freut mich sehr, dass es dir geholfen hat.
Found out my wig is not heat resistant with my mother's straightener 😃👍
SAME ABAHAH
WHAT HAPPEN TO IT AFTER U USED IT
Thank you. This is perfect and timely !!!
Definitely the best video for help!!
thank uuuu this will be helpful for my menchi cosplay

I am always using an old one since styrofoam heads can melt while using hot water :/
Is the hot water method even good for cheap wigs?
Hi, you can also use this on cheap wigs but it needs to be heat resistant. The hot water method is actually the most sensible one because hot water has a temperature about 100°C and other tools like flat irons, curling wands are way hotter 😅
Thanks I need to do this to my Rosa wig ^^
Can you use these methods on really cheap party wigs because I just bought one and I dont want to ruin it
i would do a test on a tiny section at the neck area. If your wig is NOT heat resistant the fibers will melt and get really fuzzy 😉
I need a wig for my homelander costume but I could only afford a generic curly wig that has the same shape and some colour of his hair.Probeley will need to add some blonde dye in it and my homelander costume will be completed.

Not everybody can afford it. Either that or they didn’t realize it was synthetic
