Thee, Joseph, let the hosts of of the heavens celebrate,
With thee, Let all the choirs of Christians resound,
You who, bright with merits, were joined to that glorious
    Virgin, with a chaste bond.
When, thy pregnant wife, with a growing embryo,
noticing, with doubt you were touched, anxious,
an angel, by the inspiration of the supernal Spirit,
the child to have been conceived, teaches.
You, snatch the born Lord, to the outer
    districts of Egypt, you seek refuge;
Him lost in Jerusalem you seek and find,
    mingling joys with tears.
    Pious death consecrates other elect
deserving souls, as they grasp victory in glory,
but you, living, equal to those above, enjoy God,
even more blessed, as your marvelous lot.
Have mercy on our prayers, highest Trinity, and to us
give, by Joseph's merits, to scale the heights of heaven,
so that at last it may be permitted us, to Thee, perpetually
to bring forth our pleasing song.
