This is mostly a myth. Modern Hungarians on average have less than 5% central Asian dna. Turkic tribes were very influential in their history and their political development, but did not leave a large genetic legacy. Somewhat similar story with the Bulgarians ...

could you explain how finno-ugric people who adopted mainly slavs customs, married slavs and are 90% europeans genetically - and christians - , can "share same ancestors and origins" with the inhabitants of this absolute melting pot (greeks, armenians, anatolians, central asians, kurds and so) that is Turkey ?

    • @Wolfcola23

@@Wolfcola23The Hungarian language has nothing to do with the Finno-Ugric language family! This is an artificially generated theory from the Compromise period (Austro-Hungarian Monarchy). The name "Finno-Ugric" itself was born on the German model in the German minds of Hunfalvy and Budenz. The Hungarian language is much older than the Uralic languages, its origins are obscure. By the way, don't forget that the Sumerian cuneiforms were deciphered based on the Székely-Hungarian runic script! Today, runic writing is once again taught in Hungarian schools. So let's just say that the Finno-Ugric theory is bullshit.

Scotts also play this song, so she said she didnt know at the time of composing her album. Later she discovered the history of the song, that a scottish soldier who were in british army were present in ottoman land and learnt the melody.

Your choice of music and in particular the imagery to go with the music is FANTASTIC. Beautiful music, it speaks to the soul. I wonder who the idiots are that gave this video a thumbs down
I am browsing your collection and it's absolutely wonderful.

This song exists in every country on Balcan. The lyrics are different but the melody is pretty much the same everywhere. It exists in: Turkey, Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia... It's origin is from middle east and it is extremely old song... :D just enjoy it and be proud that you are from Balcan as i am. Balcan rocks... :D

+Sekhrey EmhesetnetRa Actually, besides the countries you've mentioned (from the "Whose song is this?" documentary), it also exists in Romania, Ukraine, Poland (IIRC), Scotland etc etc. In the East it reached at least Armenia and perhaps even India. It could very well be one of the most popular Eurasian tunes. In any case, it sounds good enough to deserve it.
P.S. As one other comment here mentioned, Boney M's "Rasputin" also used it, so... ;)
