It’s always interesting seeing the adult perspective of the franchise, as growing up with the show as it aired all I get is pure nostalgia rewatching it back. Season 2 was special because it was the last time we saw the BYG members. Even though they were getting older there was a connection to them we had like your favorite sitcom characters that it didn’t phase us. I think Carey had said somewhere that the Original cast were like superstars in the 90s.
This season was the last season of Barney & Friends that I watched in full. I think that's because we didn't have any seasons in 1994, just the two season 2 episode tapes, Let's Pretend with Barney and Barney's Alphabet Zoo, plus Barney's Imagination Island and Barney Live! In New York City. Those last two were the last Barney things that my siblings and I would watch besides rewatches of the Barney VHS tapes that we owned. Personally, I'm torn on whether I like season 2 better or season 1 better. On one hand, the quality of season 2 was better, but season 1 was what I started with besides the Backyard Gang tapes that we owned and rented.
This was the last season of Barney that I think I saw. as around this time I stopped going over to my babysitter's after school and started being trusted by myself at home. So going forward, if you keep doing these season discussions, I'm gonna be hearing about stuff I didn't know about. NEAT!
Alphabet Zoo and Hoo’s In the Forest and Falling for Autumn and Dentist Makes Me Smile were my favorite episodes of Season 2 of Barney and Friends! I also like watching A Very Special Delivery on TV!!
Hey hedge I am getting my DAKIN Barney in the mail he should be here Tuesday so excited to have him again I got one from the fan club when I was four but when I was ten or eleven I let my nephew borrow him and he ended up getting thrown out a third story window and ran over so much it destroyed him also amazing video
@@HedgeOnStage I'm glad I have the vintage backyard gang plush. I've been taking good care of him since July 20th, 2023, so I've had the plush for a whole year.
I remember Barney & Friends Season 2 Online, and then I have seen red blue and circles too on the colors and shapes VHS and That episode is my favorite of this season, along with a couple of others like in an adventure in make-believe, Having tens of fun, A very special delivery, Look at me I'm there and a couple of others. The schoolyard set and classrooms are pretty good, The Barney costume at the time is great as always. Baby Bops' design is good, and i'm glad that Jeff Ayers was brought in and would continue to perform the character for 15 years until 2008, during the production of season, 12( BTW after baby bop, he would do Riff in 3 homes videos and 3 episodes) BJ is a good character and his design is good for what it is despite being around, Barney's height and Patty Wirtz does a good job voicing him although at the start, he was a bit deep and nasally but over time she improve the voice as time went on. Overall, I give season 2 a 9 out of 10.
Wait, Tomie DePaola? As in, the author of Strega Nona? (looks at the video) Yup. THAT Tomie DePaola. When you work at a library, certain author names ring a bell.
My favorite Season 2 episode is The Alphabet Zoo. I used to have that one on VHS. It's a pretty good one alongside "An Adventure in Make Believe", "The Exercise Circus", "Red, Blue, and Circles, Too" and "A Very Special Delivery".
If I’m being honest, season 2 isn’t a “perfect” season BUT it is a precursor for what season 3 would become. You can tell that a foundation is starting to build.
In the episode "Having Tens of Fun", I kinda wish Mr. Tenagain had stuck around for I Love You and sang it with Barney and the kids. Baby Bop could've joined in as well.
Even as a kid, Joe Scruggs singing about a wiggle in his hips made me raise an eyebrow. Edit: Also, due to my chronic me syndrome, just gonna say that now, BJ's name is very unfortunate.
Ugh what a great season! You can’t possibly tell me this new Barney is going to have the same heart as all this good stuff
Throwback my favorite two seasons of Barney & Friends
Mine too
Now season 2 of Barney and Friends is definitely my favorite. I love to have fun with Barney and his Friends.
I do too.
Me too!

The kid cast was definitely in the spotlight at least for the first few seasons when Barney was taking off for sure, PEAK Barney mania

I liked this season too along with many others
Bringing back some memories I didn't know I had (I watched the one that had young Selena Gomez in it more often than the other seasons)
Season 7 haha
You said it
@@HedgeOnStage Just so happened I watched an ad for the new Barney reboot before watching this video. 😂 😂
Alphabet Zoo and Hoo’s In the Forest and Falling for Autumn and Dentist Makes Me Smile were my favorite episodes of Season 2 of Barney and Friends! I also like watching A Very Special Delivery on TV!!
Hoo’s in the Forest was definitely a good one, it almost gave me camping vibes
@ Well, yeah, but it also gave me the forest vibe
12:00 I remember this, and I remember Tomie dePaola books being everywhere in elementary school.

I’m happy you’re getting a new DAKIN!! Cherish him well friend! ❤️

@@HedgeOnStage Yeah, Tomie wrote the book

Picking is hard for me.. it would have to be a tie between “Very Special Delivery” and “Tens of Fun”. Those I have the most fond memories of

Served as a foundation for future seasons.

Also BJ debuts in a baseball event before premiere of the second season and Baby Bop's Voice Actor was also different.
3:15 and in _Barney’s World,_ she’s even smaller thanks to animation
Season 2 of Barney & Friends is an Absolute Favorite.😃👍
Yeah and this same costume was used for Three whole years which make this the longest used costume in the Lyons Era.
Correction, This season has 18 episodes, not 17
Is nobody going to mention Min's new hairstyle?
no
@@HedgeOnStage I liked it Curley the best
