    That was so easy. Thanks for this very helpful demonstration. Now I see what freezer paper can do with appliqué. Love the pattern

    great way to approach applique! One question…what thread is in the bobbin?

    • @Stitchinpost
      @Stitchinpost  2 роки тому

      Normal sewing machine thread in the bobbin. Thanks for asking!

    Thank you for the video, i ordered the kit and am eager try it. Would it work to put a matching cotton thread on the top instead of the mono filament? I'm a little concerned about how the mono filament will hold up to frequent washing as I'm giving this as a baby quilt gift.

      Cotton thread would work fine, though it might be a bit more visible. if you match the applique piece, you would want to be sure you stitch on the background as close as possible to the applique. Or you can match the background and only the single zig zag stitch would show--wither way works.
      (If your machine doesn't to a blind hem stitch, you can also do a zig zag stitch or a straight stitch right along the edge of the applique, but again, that would be more visible.)

      @@Stitchinpost Thanks! I didn't think about matching the background, that's a good idea because more stitches fall there than on the applique.

    What thread do you use in bobbin?

    • @Stitchinpost
      @Stitchinpost  Рік тому

      We usually use regular 50 wt cotton quilting thread, but you can also use the finer 80 wt bobbin thread if you prefer. You might have to play around with your tension settings a bit before you get your machine sewing smoothly with invisible thread.
