Thanks - tbh I am not sure. I think they are but I did find myself still cranking up the gain pretty high to get to +6 on these Bodzin records but on most gain is mostly kind of around 1 o'clock. I think its these records, they are somehow pressed pretty quiet - if yo check the last two records the gain is at 12 and 1
@ that’s what I thought too, I’ve been wanting to change my old 92 because of the phono preamps, but I guess a 96 would be a better option. I just think that it’s too much of a mixer for what I do with it.
@@Ramloops makes sense, exactly my thoughts. I used to do only Traktor in the past and a couple of times I also had Maschine MK2 and added it to the mix. It was a dream setup for me. As you can imagine I always needed more channels, better sound card, better controller etc. Xone 96 as you know has "it all", but now I kind of moved away from that. Even though I do own a machine mk3 now I only use vinyl for my own pleasure and will probably get a couple of XDJ 700 because I am literally running out of music with vinyl and that makes me spin less than I would want to. Anyways, my friend has a 96, I tried it and it does "feel great" but as you say, it is too much of a machine for what I want and need. What I liked about it though is that the faders were really stiff and not flimsy as with all previous generation xone mixers and one thing I really disliked were the buttons. They are really shallow and flimsy, feel cheap, but that is a nitpick. But idk tbh if I was upgrading from an old 92 maybe I would have gotten the 96 simply because the price difference is not stellar.
@@aneshas that’s basically what happened to me, I was using traktor, 4 channels, fxs, and a Roland TR8S, so the extra channels and the sound card was a must (even though I still have my A10) but now I’m just very basic, 2 turntables and that’s it, only vinyl and still using traktor DVS, but very simple mixing, plus I listen to lots of music in vinyls, the 92 phono preamp sometimes gets on my nerves when I have to crank up the volume all the way up, and then with the DVS, not even half way through. So makes me think, keep my 92 or just upgrade to the 96 and have this flagship mixer to use 2 channels lol! (And you’re right about the 96 faders, they feel good)
Great mix!!! Aren’t the new phono preamps louder Ike the 96 or still quiet like the old 92?

lol, well then apart from the new preamps you have little incentive to upgrade even to mk2 92 ... 96 probably makes little sense as you point out.
