- Here I talk about the details and specifics I follow when I repot a tree at the shop. I also ramble on a bit and go into details on aftercare, soil, and say just enough to hopefully get a few comments good or bad in the comment section.
Had the pleasure to see this beast in person the other day and i will say even the nicest cameras can only really do so much justice, true work of art no doubt!!!
Huge improvement on previous videos. Jason looks like he's getting more comfortable on camera. Can't wait to see more of these!
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Visited y’all a few years back and bought a Brazilian Rain tree. Really enjoyed your selection and hope to get back soon. Thanks for sharing
It’s probably my fault but I remember watching your videos 5or 6 years ago. Good to see you back. Cheers from Ojai California
I’m from east central Florida in Indialantic. Would love to know more from someone in the same weather conditions. Could use a mentor. :)
👍👌
I recently acquired a ficus microcarpa that is desperate for a repotting due to excessive root mass and poor soil. I always thought they should be repotted in the spring. Is it possible to repot in October as you have if the tree is overwintered indoors?
Its always better to only repot tropicals in the summer, when nights are above 60f.
This was done at the very beginning of Oct, and i was more careful with roots than i would have been earlier in the year, but I won't repot any more tropicals this year as it's too late.
If you're in south Florida or in the tropics you can, but if drainage is OK, I'd wait till next late spring/ summer to repot.
If drainage is bad, I'd pull out of pot, lightly untangle perimeter roots, then slip pot into a bigger pot to the appropriate time to work the roots
