I know a family who did this . Then they swaped spouses ..divorced and married each others spouses ..the children as you can imagine from all of this are completely messed up. You want to do this ..don’t have kids.
I know someone who also did this, married for 20 years, three children, built a fortune together, just to end up beating on each other, doing drugs, getting a divorce, now remarried to other partners, it’s absolutely no boundaries and disgusting.

I had the opposite reaction. Narrow-minded judgemental-ism run amok, with zero interest or ability to consider other viewpoints or lifestyles. You can communicate to kingdom come, but if you can't trust, or if the trust is broken because the other person' crosses the line into feelings for someone else, all the talk is just talk. These scenarios don't end well in many ways. But for some people, very few, it works somehow. It's a lifestyle, there is so much energy and even money that goes into it. They live for it and constantly think about it. In my view, not healthy, but people should be free to do what they want privately with consent. The doctor and his wife are fake as hell. In many of the couples there is also a lot of coercive manipulation and grooming by one of the partners. This is not practiced by psychologically wholesome people. See the work of professor of psychology Sam Vaknin.

Marriage to you might be different than marriage to me or to your neighbors next door. Some people married for money, some people marry for companion, some people married for stability, most marry for love or at least that’s what we tell ourselves. Those reasons can fluctuate and change overtime. This is definitely not something that I would be comfortable with my partner, but why do I care if two or four consenting adults choose a different lifestyle than I have? it affects me and no way in my life. Just like some of the things that you might in your home is not something that I would accept mine.

I'm from Alabama and they pretend that they are conservative around here but I don't see anything conservative with the MAGA movement and those that support hate, violence, adultery and lies. If they also say that they are Christian then I would really have to question their sincerity. What really goes on is they are going to church and having this lifestyle and they have minor children in their family so I don't think that is conducive to a healthy and honest relationship while lying to everyone in your life, especially your own family. I have friends that I went to school with and I always heard that a few of their parents were "swingers" and they probably were but with very few people, usually only certain couples and not more than 4 or 5 couples that are interacting. Especially now with the Internet and the ability to record the interaction then blackmail the other people that are involved and that's how people get killed or so I have been told.

I know a couple that’s been together since high school (we’re in our early to mid fifties) and they do this from time to time. It hasn’t damaged their relationship (so far), but they don’t do it regularly. I couldn’t do it, but I don’t judge them, they’re great people and a great couple. I don’t think I’d want my parents parading it around if they did it, that’s for sure.
I also know a couple like this...they are amazingly happy and in love and have raised their grandson, who is now in the air force or something...They are super social as well as very professional people...they don't advertise it but I think a majority of their peer group knows.
