Love this technique. You simply trick your brain into thinking the task is super easy and doable and by the time the 1 minute timer is up, there’s a high chance you’re going to want to keep going because you’ve already entered into the "flow state".
Always try to pick one or two small things that you can complete each day; they are small victories but they ARE victories and give you a sense of completion and accomplishment.
I’ve oft stopped after a few minutes. Just the other day it happened with/when folding clothes.
My tasks take far too long, and it’s partly because of perfectionism, from which I am “deprogramming”.
That’s the duality of Perfectionism...It becomes Procrastination.

I'm baffled. You know the difference between "you've" and "you'll". But "you're" and "your" not so. American?
Sum.K Good observation! Didn’t catch that. And yeah, Americano :)

Lol. Your initial post said “blaffed”, before you edited.

Errors/mistakes happen. Let’s all try to be a bit more understanding, forgiving, compassionate, patient.

Oh but I did do those things and I finished the
Tackle all the small chores and get them done quickly. This will give you the momentum to begin tackling the big goals that you have
...Or exhaust you, thus lead you to procrastinate the “bigger” tasks.

@@BL3SSed-Bliss on god bruh? On god.
"The hardest part of productivity is that transition from doing nothing to do doing something" so true. Once you get started its fairly easy to keep geting things done!
Wash dishes after each meal.
Chore done
Great content! So key to start that ball rolling - it’ll quickly snowball into great things for the day 💪💪💪
The biggest obstacle to getting things done is distractions. Minimize distractions and you will almost certainly get more done!
One big distraction is UA-cam.
@@BabyHannah05 true
@@BabyHannah05 that is definentely true unless you are watching educational content that is helping you learn.
I literally just commented/corrected/clarified this in another thread! 😎🧠✊🏽
I wanma do so much but then UA-cam notifications change everything and i hate myself when i ssid i was going to do this but I'm too lazy😭😭
Thank you for making this video. I did something similar with TY notes I was late getting written & mailed. I decided to sit down to write every day until I caught up, even if I completed just one a day. The first day I was able to write 2 in the few mins I had before leaving for an appointment. I made sure to mail them that day, too, and it felt so good! This morning I had even less time but was still able to write 1 and drop it in the mail when I returned from an appointment. I haven’t watched your whole video, and you may touch on this later, but I think
my brain is enjoying a dopamine surge every time I sit down to write, and another when I drop them in the mailbox! I’m proud of myself for thinking of this method on my own. Next I’ll try it on something that’s important but not time sensitive-piles of papers on my desk that need to be sorted, filed, and/or tossed. Wish me luck! 😅
After seeing the thumbnail i was like 1 minute rule in 10 minutes🤔
1X10 Rule
@@iam4082 thank you nerd. You're cute though 😍. Id hit that
I agree
1:22 superb analogy
What a great video 👍 one quote that I have burnt into my brain that I find really useful and true is: “don’t do it when you feel like doing it, do it- and then you’ll feel like doing it”- Zig Ziglar. How true that is, it takes forever to start a task, but when you do, you don’t wanna stop
Time using stop watch on your phone:
1 minute choose a task. Visualise doing the task.
1 minute prepare task
1 minute execute task.
1 minute celebrate.
1 minute list next section of task.
1 minute execute new section of task.
1 minute celebrate.
If 1 minute turns to 20 minutes celebrate 20 mins.
Well done!
Totally agree. I've learned so much from this. There was a huge increase in productivity.
Awesome video... just what I needed to hear! Thank you!!!
Thank you for the motivation ❤️
Thank You! I needed this. :)
You might as well take it to the next step and do whatever you have to do immediately after you know you have to do it. Of course, if the chore is taxing it is good to take a break but doing everything immediately makes it so you never worry about it because it is already done. Either do it immediately or you will experience emotional pain in addition to having to do it.
Nice technique! Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
This was great! I feel so much more relaxed and confident now. Cant wait to start putting this into practice.
thanks for this. I will surely use this RIGHT NOW
Amazing content, I always look forward to such videos, I feel so motivated to start my morning I will just go start the work RIGHT NOW!
Thank you! Im going to try this tomorow!
I'll take that advice! Hope I would improve my day-to-day. Thanks!
Learned 1 rule in 10 minutes.
Lets implement this 10 minutes in rest of life.
10.6 minutes 😂
This video had its message delivered in the first one minute.
This is very useful for university students like myself trying to get on top of class work and general responsibilities😄
Thank you very much sir! A great help for me...i downloaded this video and see to it to give time to listen on this every time I feel to procrastinate...Staysafe. Thank you and more power!
I love this video. I put it into effect immediately after i watched this video. It dramatically help me change the dreading feeling when I think of the things I needed to do. I ended up doing a lot with a happy feeling.
Strong mind||strong life...big love from another youtuber 🤘🔥🔥
Thank you 🙏🏾
This is very good advice. I like the production and graphics, too. Nice work!
Actually checking email throughout the day is highly inefficient. Tim Ferris said so too. You need to chunk some of the activities together for efficiency.
Agree with that. When you are checking email, you can still apply this one minute rule. Most of the emails may just need a yes/no reply or some brief info we already have in mind. Respond to it as soon as you finish reading it, only those that need more thought-out response to be kept for later. This way you clear off the mailbox faster.
Great video, thanks!... My version of the "1 Minute Rule" is the same but with an add-on. No matter what the chore is, I do it right away. But if it's a huge chore I only do it for 1 minute. LoL
Awesome.....thank you 👍
This video really helped a lot thank you 🙏🏽 very much 😅👍🏽
This was a really helpful video, thanks!
Thank you! Very useful :) :) it is very well explained how this impact the default way you think about the things you do. How positive you are about it. Simple things and habits hold the most precious secrets indeed ;)
Great advice!
That was stupendous
Quick summary: Complete something on your to-do list RIGHT NOW so you take control of your productivity instead of wallowing in procrastination.
Reality: Keep watching UA-cam 😂
Someone, give this guy a medal!

Exactly! Watch productivity videos, feel motivated, proceed to kitten videos for the next hour

@@DrJonTam actually your video described my procrastination perfectly and today is dedicated to the 1 minute rule. I really want to change and keep up with clutter and emails and junk mail. Doing it today, or as the video says "right now"!
Good video, very informative
Big things are made from small things. Take care of small things and not only do you stay away from procrastination but you wind up completing big things. 👍
Good stuff ☝️☝️☝️You got a new subscriber ✅
Dont put your work for tomorrow just do it now. If you put it tomorrow it always gets delayed. Dont procrastinate just go for it.
Wow very encouraging
Wonderful
When you have to struggle to overcome challenges, it can help you work even harder to achieve your goals.
I do something similar to this to motivate myself. For example, say I don't want to work out. I'll tell myself "okay, just do a half-workout then. That's better than nothing. Then when I complete the half workout I realize that I have the energy and motivation to complete the entire thing. :)
Hey Top Think voice you nailed it!
Finish work efficiently !
The best!
Great I will try today
I like the presentation. Which software used for background themes?
This was helpful
Thank u for the tips but my question is what do you do when confronted with tasks that last more than one minute
Super technique
very nice.
This would drive me crazy feeling like I had to pay attention all day trying to micro manage myself. I’d rather do everything at once and not worry about it.
The productivity rule is simple: if you can do a task in 2 minutes or less, do it now.
I feel glad after I watch this because Ive really been doing this daily.
Gotta play this one back at 1.25 or 1.5 speed.
Instruction on adulthood. If you watched this video and had a flash back of your parents telling you to do your chores hit like.
The idea is to immediately do any tasks that come up if they will take one minute or less to complete. For example, if you walk in the door after coming home from work, don't just kick off your shoes in the living room. Take the extra 20 seconds to place them back in your closet.
Ok anyone else pause the video when he said "Right Now" ... At least I started a load of laundry. Now I hope I remember to switch them to dryer.
Awesomesauce! ✊🏽 These are great for people who have such conveniences/luxuries within their own home.🥰😎
One minute rule apply to each step, not only the whole load.
I love the videos of top think .....
My problem is getting started, it seems so difficult just to start doing things
This is reminding me of Atomic Habits and The Compound Effect
We all need to find creative ways to stay productive!
works for me
I can’t do this because even though I’m only 10 and- hold on, I’ll stop you right here. I bet right now your thinking “oh she’s only 10? She hasn’t experienced the struggles of the real world! She’s over-reacting!” But right now I have 9 huge tasks on my to-do list. Those things include, finishing a video, making my classmates as Cuphead bosses, making human genderbent versions of Cuphead bosses (because I’m bad a drawing guys and most of the Cuphead bosses are guys), making 2 videos on UA-cam into Gacha Club style, and even making a FREAKING GAME! So yeah, I’m kinda stressed 🤣🤣🤣 and I’m still getting nothing done :/
Your also probably wondering how all these things piled up and why I can’t just remove them from my to do list, right? Well how they get piled up is my ability to see someone do something cool and go “OOoooOoOooO! I wAnNa TrY tHaT!” And then starting, running out of motivation and putting it off because my head hurts, my stomach hurts, I’m stressed, I’m tired, I’m sad, and ITS A FRIKIN WEEKDAY, then I put it on my to do list and then I can’t scrap it because it’s on a to do list now and I have to finish it XD. So please help me, I need help with being motivated lol. And sorry for this comment being so long 😅
Loved the video I will apply to my life . I can't help but to make a joke ( how long does it take to learn the 1 minute rule 10:06 minuets . How long it took to make this video timeless, because you just can't put a price on educational content . Ok Now the video is priceless)
I thought this would be a one minute vid! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
I'm neither running the washer everyday nor am I storing all the laundry in the washer without separating it.
Why would I place my cup in the dishwasher after washing it?
That idea goes against every premise of the video
Many people use the dishwasher as a drying rack for the the quick and small stuff needing brief quick washing.
@@katherinekaczowka5294
I'm sure that folks with large families can.benefit much more than I do by using a dishwasher.
Although I have one it only gets ran through a cycle on average once a month. Then I only run it to keep it operational and to keep water in the p-trap of the drain.
My ex worshipped it and crusty dishes etc. Filled the sink and sat on the counter.
She left almost 2 years ago and the dishes she took with her were the problem. These dishes from garage sales stay clean because I make one hell of a mess cooking even though there is just one of me so to keep the kitchen halfway clean( enough to prepare and eat food) to suit myself I order my slave (myself) to clean up every time. I am not the best housekeeper by any stretch, but I try when.it comes to the kitchen and bathrooms. My dog don't complain, and I don't bite him.
I came hear to know how to finish my big pile of work and for starting this 1min rule I need to finish the work first🤦♀️
10 minutes to explain a 1 minute technique. Good job lol
Divide and conquer.
That's how I wrote my dissertation...a little each day, mind you, the committee would make significant changes/edits but the writing was done daily...can't sit on it. I think authors block out time daily to write too...you have to make a habit of something in order to be productive.
I have nothing but big responsibilitys to take care of, and when the small things come around I jsut dont want to do them
How would you know if something takes 60 seconds or not ?
The thing is, that most of the tasks you mention take much longer than 1 minute. Anyway, my to-do list is filled with lengthy and complicated tasks. So this rule does not solve all problems.
It's so true
Good tips no procrastination I procrastinate my emails hundreds thea instead deleting them as they come😯😀
I have a request for you. where can i contact you?
The Minimalism life! I love it!
Why did it take ten minutes?
Answer at 2:13 😉.
Good video though and worth listening and understanding to the reasoning
Finished watching this video in 1 minute with 2x speed
check and reply emails while pooping 😂😂😂
Ironically we just wasted 10mins lmao
Im still lazy :(
I think its not one minute for me.....
Creative Video...
In 1 minute you can't even watch this video to the end
"1-minute-rule" > 10 minute video
I'll just scroll down these messages before I wash up lol
Animation software plzz tell

Just got out of bed and loaded my washer 🥴😅
Repetitive motion doing household chores become tedious. & Physical disabilities prevent pushing pulling lifting sweeping wiping counters & walls & floors & Vacummng, & mopping motions are tiring.
Physically tiring exhausting,
Physically disabled persons have more troubles. Causing more injuries trying to clean their home apartment. Takes agreater amount of TIME to work out.
Help. How can household CHORES BE MORE SIMPLE & FUN?
And if it is difficult for you to stop procrastination you can try to start the simple thing, then little by little you ordering the rest, that will allow you to Continue all your Activities Without Leaving it for Later.
