I’ve been a subscriber since I first saw one of your videos many years ago and have probably watched all of your videos in their entirety since then. You have a rare ability to summarise complex things/issues in a way that can be easily understood by the layperson yet detailed enough for your fellow techies. I appreciate your honesty, integrity and openness. You are such a decent person and your channel/business deserves to prosper. Merry Christmas Lon and I hope that 2025 is a great year for you.
Glad you are able to do this full time! I think what people *might* be interested in, at least from my point of view with the TP Link news, are new routers and how to set them up so that they don't spy on you. I've heard that if you change the default passwords on the TP Link then it's not an issue, I dunno. I think IOT devices will continue to be popular, but I have a hard time getting Google Home to cooperate with my Hue Bridge sometimes. I've heard Apple might be jumping in that scene more aggressively so that might be interesting.
Changing default passwords on routers is honestly the 1 thing no ones does because it's "complicated". Most people don't care. A lot of routers and ONT's have the same default password. And that's not secure at all.
I've been with you since 2014 Lon. I consider you one of the realest honest dudes on UA-cam. From what I can tell, you started clearly noting disclosures way before I noticed any other channel doing so. Unfortunately, I don't think UA-cam always rewards people like you, it'd rather serve up those people who are, let's just say, not the best for society at large.
Lon, you’re awesome. Wishing you luck finding good revenue in the coming year. I’m impressed with your analysis of the current yt game. You know how to adapt well without losing your identity. That’s rare!!
Lon, thumbs up for a behind the scenes again! That would be great if you can. Longtime fan of the channel. Keep up the great honest work! You’re one of the good ones. UA-cam needs more Lons!
I really enjoy your Plex videos. Your Plex videos are primarily why I’m a subscriber. You’ve helped me out with my Plex server tremendously over the last 3 to 4 years.
I found you through NSF when you were hosting the Starship livestreams, I really enjoyed your work there, I hope to see you back soon. I've also enjoyed the content you have produced on this channel. Looking forward to what you have in store for 2025!
I appreciate all of your content. Sometimes I agree and sometimes not on your opinions. Such is journalism. Lol I value your opinion!! Have a Merry Christmas and I look forward to your videos!!!
I really enjoy watching your videos. They have a wonderfully calming effect on me, reminiscent of watching Bob Ross paint. They are also very useful and informative. Keep up the great work.
I love your channel and your integrity. As someone of a similar age to you, our interests seem identical. I’d love to see more content about self hosting and retro gaming. Keep up the good work!
Lon you have cost me so much money! Because of your videos, you have caused me to set up Synology Plex server, get into amateur radio (I’m a General now), and buy numerous mini PCs!
glad to to hear you are going to be doing a general CES reporting. I miss the videos that people used to do of the consumer items that were off the beaten track and not even always involving tech.
Thank you very much for all your reviews and content. Before I purchase any new technology, I check your channel first to see if you have reviewed it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
I 've bought a couple mini-pcs from the links here and one of the primary reasons I come here is because you review things no one else does.. Also, I unsubbed from other people because it was really clear they were doing paid for reviews where the content was reviewed beforehand and they weren't mentioning it at all. As someone who got the NES for Christmas as a kid, retro games on christmas day sounds fun!
Dashcams? Home devices ie cameras? How to use Radio SDRs to do cool things? Best combination of tv subscription deals to get the most sports (or each type of programs) for each price point? Amazon hauls? Temu hauls? AliExpress hauls? Add on usb neural processors to enable AI on pre-NPU pre-CoPilot PCs?
Don't worry about going off topic from time to time. It is a nice bonus for your subscribers. Also, think about the future....with more and more companies mandating back to the office full time, what tech will they need?
Your videos have help me immensely over the years, so Thank You! Just a suggestion, other than cord cutting Home Automation/Smart Home products seem to be a hot topic. From plug and play cloud based products to local hosting with Home Assistant and there are quite a few new to the market companies looking for exposure. Not sure if this is a topic you would be interested in covering but just a suggestion. Thanks again for all your hard work.
Hi Lon, I love your channel - for quality of the videos and also for transparency and your integrity. Pity there is no interest among the sponsors. All the best in 2025 🎉🎉🎉
Seemed like just yesterday you were talking about finally going full time with the channel as a job. Glad it's still working out. It's definitely not easy adapting to all the changes constantly going on. Sad to see the direction the tech industry has gone as well. It's hard to find good honest content these days.
I am really excited for the maple syrup farm video, I didn't know it existed because UA-cam didn't put it in front of me anywhere. I'm going to go watch that now.
Tough times! Hang in there, there is still work for honest tech reviewers such as you and we thank you! Here is an unsolicited tip, try adding more travel blogs and simple tech thoughts videos I believe more people are interested in your views opinions and leisure hence it might claw more interest in your channel. Anyways more subs to you channel and we await you daily CES dispatch!
Based on the data, if you can get content out related to what's trending at the time, UA-cam and your subscribers will pick it up. Maybe try finding cool and interesting tech gadgets that are being presented on social media or are trending and review those?
I’m new to the channel since u make the best streaming stick reviews that go really in depth. Wish u mentioned how the google tv streamer and on 4k pro wraps all sound into Dolby surround instead of playing in its intended format like stereo and such (although this could be wrapping a different format depending on ur AVR, I’m on a demon s760h).kinda wish you made content in modern gaming somehow. I loved ur 8bitdo controller video. I love how varied ur channel is how there’s a review on what feels like anything, lotta stuff I don’t expect and never knew about till this video too. Wonder if there’s videos on the stream deck. Steam deck would be cool too.
That’s the only video of his that I’ve downvoted due to the title being a clickbait lie that didn’t reflect the actual situation. It claimed that Japan had banned floppy disks, which wasn’t true.
Yeah that tracks, when I was looking at laptop and phone reviews your videos was in my feed, and when I stop your videos stop showing up in my feed. I'm into EVs now but your videos popped up again because I was thinking about getting a TV tuner because my Spectrum service has been glichy.
How much money did you make? Just curious if you could give a ballpark. How much business expense do you have per year (travel, buying products to test, etc.). How many hours a week do you spend working on reviews, research. What is the cut Google takes per $10.00? Other platforms? How do you like your home - work time? Do you miss working with other peers in an IT setting. Lastly, how do we tell Google as viewers to stop squishing content creators like you?
Lon Best Wishes for the New Year. When you bring good content people will watch, I do for years now. Maybe not everything like Plex and so on because it's not relevant for Europe. What I want to see more is Chromebooks 11 to 14 inch ones and laptops 15 to 17 inch or bigger. Mini PC I have enough but following the trend is good so that I can plan for the future. Last year I build to new computers, one mini ITX and one mATX both AMD. Yes there are still people that use full size PC's, they are easier to assemble. Maybe a topic for you, what happened to BTX, I liked the concept. For the rest you doing a good job, thanks for that.
Looking forward to 2025, great content and always love the integrity. Could you make a video on how you ripped your Blu Ray collection? I would be interested how you did it, named the file and organize your library. thanks again!
For gadget reviews, channels that compare a bunch of products in a certain category (Project Farm, America's Test Kitchen Gear Heads) still seem to do well (obviously more work than reviewing a single product but the result is probably more satisfactory for the viewers)
LONBALL PLUS: you should make a video about the most irrelevant upgrade of 2024. The M3 which had 7 seconds in the sun until the M4 iPad Pro came out in the late summer.
That is sad to hear you say no one is quite interested in journalistic reviews. Is journalism in tech (or in general) something that is becoming obsolete?
Hi Lon. Long time fan. Congrats on your staying power. So I don't know if there's an app or site that does this, but I swear the world would be a nicer place if we had something called... urm... Alligator Aggregator. Here me out. Imagine you gave some app/page/situation your UA-cam stuff, your Facebook stuff, whatever -- and it fixed the logarithm problem you content creators complained about. It would fix it by, for instance, putting all content by a creator in front of your eyes no matter what. So, in your case, you could wildly off topic and yet I'd see the story. Personally I'd love a Facebook version of this that edits out all the Elon Musk/Trump/Russian propaganda. So instead of going to FB to see what's going on at my group, Alligator would show me only content from members but nothing else.
@@LonSeidman Hmm. I knew RSS but thought it couldn't quite do this. But I'll look into it, Sir. Thanks for replying and I'm wondering if one of the casinos would sponsor you informally? FontaineBlue is new but still not known for people outside of Vegas. If you tapes some nightly CES 'final thoughts' in different locations there maybe?
UA-cam really dumbs itself down by letting real creation be controlled by pay to play creation and manipulation. I hope you stay around. Just sad times. To bad youtube cannot get a hard competitive site against it.
Congratulations on another year on UA-cam Lon! I deeply appreciate your honesty and your family friendliness!

Your content for 2024 has been great, Lon. Thanks again for all you do!

I love the format and variety you bring. Channels that only do one type of content gets boring
I've been with you since 2014 Lon. I consider you one of the realest honest dudes on UA-cam. Unfortunately, I don't think UA-cam always rewards people like you, it'd rather serve up those people who are, let's just say, not the best for society at large.
Your trade show coverage is always top notch
Lon, you’re awesome. Wishing you luck finding good revenue in the coming year. I’m impressed with your analysis of the current yt game. You know how to adapt well without losing your identity. That’s rare!!
The maple syrup video was one of my favorites, UA-cam is just weird sometimes.
Lon, thumbs up for a behind the scenes again! That would be great if you can. Longtime fan of the channel. Keep up the great honest work! You’re one of the good ones. UA-cam needs more Lons!

Thanks! The last two starship flights I missed due to scheduling issues but I'm sure there will be many more to come!
Thank you so much for another great year Lon! Can't wait to watch all of the great content next year!
Always enjoy your content, Lon. All the best in 2025!
Lon you are truly one of the best here on UA-cam. Wishing you much success in 2025🎉.
I appreciate all of your content. Sometimes I agree and sometimes not on your opinions. Such is journalism. Lol
I value your opinion!!
Have a Merry Christmas and I look forward to your videos!!!
I really enjoy watching your videos. They have a wonderfully calming effect on me, reminiscent of watching Bob Ross paint. They are also very useful and informative. Keep up the great work.
Been watching you since I came across your GCW Zero review all those years ago. Glad you’re still at it Lon!
I just found that gcw in a drawer the other day! What a fun device for its time.
I for one loved the Total Eclipse and your Brother’s Maple Syrup tour.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I love your channel and your integrity. As someone of a similar age to you, our interests seem identical. I’d love to see more content about self hosting and retro gaming. Keep up the good work!
Nice summary Lon. GL 2025!
Merry Christmas Lon!
You're one of my comfort food UA-camr's.
Merry Christmas Lon. May the road rise with you.

Merry Christmas Guy!

6:33 - Didn't see the one about floppy stuff. Will have to seek it out.

I loved the eclipse video. I was a nice change friends the usual tech stuff
Lon, keep up the great work! Will you be covering the situation with Honey, that has recently exploded? Thanks!
I might - need to find a new angle that others haven't talked about yet.
Looking forward to 2025, great content and always love the integrity. Could you make a video on how you ripped your Blu Ray collection? I would be interested how you did it, named the file and organize your library. thanks again!
hey there any update on Invalid Traffic on UA-cam? everything is good now since you upload the video about it.

You should do a top ten must have tech finds. Kinda like MKHD does with top phones
Would like to see a video of the best wired routers. I don't want wireless. I hope plex also starts supporting atsc 3.0
❤❤❤
Wow!!! it’s a shame the subscriber count is not much higher
Interesting review, sad about the lack of interest in journalistic reviews.

Sadly nowadays you need bait thumbnails and uppercase letter titles
Subscription are worthless right now
