I find a major plot hole in the narrative. When the MC switch the suitcases he actually did not switch them. MC *put the b0mb inside another suitcase* and write down the tracking number so he can find out where the bad guy was flying to. But this means... He had to find a similar looking suitcase, he also knew the code to open it, remove the content from it and put the b*mb in and close and lock it again. He could've pry open the other suitcase forcefully, probably happens quite a lot in his job, but he wouldn't be able to close the suitcase properly without the bad guy noticing it. So what really happened? All of this was done off screen. I'm also frustrated that this guy was willing to sacrifice hundreds of people to save his girlfriend but I brushed it off because I think that could realistically happen. But there is a moment where he finally met his girlfriend for the first time after being threatened by the bad guys where he could basically could duck under a table and alerted the officers. Another thing that was ridiculous is when the girlfriend was being chased buy the other bad guy in the airport, she chose to lure him to the parking lot so she could go 1v1 against him instead of just scream from the top of her lungs. It was still a fun watch though.
I share many of your views. Especially the last take. The fact that when she was being chased in the airport she didn’t just go into some area that’s exclusive to airport employees or run up to a tsa agent or cop. But instead to a secluded area of a parking garage. And that she bests this trained killer. Still a fun watch.
... And she was running to the cop in the booth... Then suddenly she's below ground in a secluded parking garage. This is after the dude gets in a huge wreck with that other car, where the other passengers apparently disappeared... Just so many plot holes.
I love how when they’re in the planes cargo hold, the antagonist is able to gain access from the cabin through a floor hatch, despite this not existing onboard a real 737-800, which is the type of plane used in the scene. So it would be impossible to access the cargo hold from the cabin. Not only that, but somehow the cargo hold is the size of hotel suite and both characters are able to stand.
I love how people in this comment section just really cannot watch a film. Like idk seriously have no idea how 90% of you guys are enjoyable people to be around
@@iperson4800 Believe it or not I enjoyed the film, it reminds me of your typical early 2000’s action movie; the type of movie where you suspended your disbelief. Yeah, I agree, the ending stretched believability a little too far and it was too long. Overall, though, it was a pretty good movie that I might watch again.

So was Mateo suppose to be on the flight with the bomb and die? And was it the travelers plan to kill Ethan to tie all loose ends?
Sounds like the Traveler was going to let Mateo die along with the congresswoman and others on the plane and his accomplice in the van would kill Jesse since he was no longer leverage and would have been a loose end from there. I think Jesse would have been killed as opposed to Ethan/Jason because they actually had possession of Jesse and whichever TSA employee they got was just facilitating the movement of the novachuk
Yeah that got me too, also the whole 2 tickets thing. Was it always the travelers plan to board the flight also and to jump out with a backpack parachute once he activated the chemical?
What happened to the woman who was helping the terrorists? All the other criminals died but her. Last she was seen was at the diner bar switching the backpack parachute.
4:48 honestly the car crash scene was probably my least favorite part... Well actually it's a pretty entertaining scene lol, just felt so out of place in a movie where most of the action felt more grounded and believable (for the most part, I still have no clue how JB got a handgun on board a plane). Overall though it was a really good movie.
Before you get on a plane, an I do mean right before you are allowed to board. There is one final luggage check in for all your belongings that are going on the plane. They don't check your body for weapons as you do that when you first walk in the airport. So it is believable he could have snuck in the pistol without being caught. But he wouldnt have been able to sneak in the nerve agent, as that would have required using another TSA person to get past the final check.

Shit I didn’t even think of that, but technically the man who killed him (Mateo) is also now dead, so nobody can really be held responsible other than the traveler.
So was that goth looking girl at the bar commenting about the politician on tv only doing a ticket swap? Really surprised the villian didn’t just try to get the whole airport at that point.
This might be a dumb question but if he had switched the bags, why didn't he just let the bad guy take the fake bag to the plane and disarm the bomb in the meantime? Sure the guy would've gotten a 'manual' notification but he wouldn'tr be able to reach him anyway. Being inside the plane was kinda stupid?
He had a tracker on the bomb. If Ethan had switched the bags and taken the bomb, the bad guy would have known instantly since he was checking the tracker after he got hte bomb back
It started out decent but then it turned into this insane super unrealistic storyline. Haha like the part where they let the plane take off with them knowing how he was supposed to get on the plane to deactivate it or the fact that they didn't even know how close he was to getting on the plane? It just didn't add up at all with their timing or why they thought that plan would even work.

Not a Christmas movie (for me). Yes, the car crash scene was amazing! I agree with all of your comments. My biggest plot issue was that Ethan moved the nerve gas to the larger luggage. I thought he was going to just remove the red ribbon and send the wrong luggage with the wrong contents to the traveler, leaving the nerve gas behind at the airport.
The Netflix target audience chirping in the comments mad that you called a cliche and not believable movie cliche and not believable is really funny lmao
wasn’t it pretty obvious why the traveler would go down to the cargo? i mean, he got the noti on his phone the bomb was being manually tempered with, he knew the case was in cargo since it couldn’t be with him, and who else would be able to temper the bomb other than the man he just taught how to do it?
As dumb as this movie was overall - though Bateman was great - the ending/reveal was just ridiculous. I mean, really … anybody would need to go the these lengths to get a DEFENSE SPENDING BILL passed? Seriously? 😂😂😂😂. I think a few phone calls from lobbyists representing Northrop-Gruman, Lockheed Martin, et al., would have sufficed. Turn off your brain, grab some popcorn … it is passable entertainment. I was so pissed they killed HANK SCHRADER just like that!!! 😡😡😡 Anyway this movie was entertaining enough, but it's the kind of film that's forgettable. If you have no plans on watching it, it's completely fine. You're not really missing out😂
Nothing will beat die hard.
Ultimate controversial Christmas film
I really liked this movie. The car fight scene was absolutely epic and the detective was badass
Is it me or Ethan looking old
Simple “just ok” straight up movie that doesn’t deserve your time but I’m watching because you’re my guy for the breakdown & explained It I do wanna hear your honest thoughts on THE WHITE LOTUS S3 I’ll watch but it doesn’t seem good
Very good movie, it's definitely the new die hard Xmas action movie. They need to keep this franchise going. Seriously it's that good!!!
Yeah I was surprised to see it break it onto the most watched movies on the platform!
Jason Bateman carried the whole movie
He was great!
I would of liked to see a homeland badge instead honestly would of been 10x better of a ending showing he went for plat instead of gold.
I loved this movie and the happy ending! 💙 definitely a Christmas movie as is die hard.
Anyone wonder how they found Ethan's boss' body??
Shit I didn’t even think of that, but technically the man who killed him (Mateo) is also now dead, so nobody can really be held responsible other than the traveler.
It’s been 2 1/2 weeks, and nobody’s uncovered it yet
I'm still trying to figure out how the first cop got done up carrying the boarding pass Ethan wrote on, only thing he did was bump into the traveler.
Being inside the plane was kinda stupid?
the bad guy had a gps tracker on the bomb so he would’ve tracked it & known the bomb wasn’t in it
@@luisandragarcia2011^
He had a tracker on the bomb. If Ethan had switched the bags and taken the bomb, the bad guy would have known instantly since he was checking the tracker after he got hte bomb back
It was a simple good movie. Wish they’d make more movies like these.
Jason Bateman played an excellent part.
Yeah he really did!
This film did not need the ending explained ffs! It was utter trash......LAX with no other security apart from Nora and her id card 😂 people running around an airport and nobody saying anything
Personally I thought the ending was trash. The bomb should have went off. Maybe only killing Ethan or his gf or something but no way the traveler was way to prepared that that ending.
Ik this is your opinion but it’s wrong I think this movie was perfect esp the ending
@ fuck that that perfect ass ending is not even close to realistic but like you said we are all entitled to our own opinion
@@lilnu I mean it doesn’t need to be 100% realistic it a movie at the end of the day and brings enjoyment which it did so damn straight it was perfect and yes everyone has their own opinions
@@lilnuName me a thriller movie that's 100% realistic
@ Ik ik but still lol like bruh had hella plot armor. No way a dude knows everything about u damn near comes prepared n still loses yk
Could have been a good movie but lots of corny and bad acting and that car seen ruined it.
these youtube videos with video bookmarks are the best. i can skip straight to where the completely pointless and redundant "intro" ends without having to skim through comments looking for one that says "video starts at..."
Is the end viable? Is there a little airtight room in the cargo area?
The ending took me right out during the take off scene and them thinking they should let the plane take off... it just didn't make sense. They didn't even know how close he was to getting on the plane and if he could get on before it took off.
Isn't the cabin pressurized? Idk much about it, but I would assume it wouldn't reach the cabin from the cargo hold anyway
I don’t understand the end too how that bomber could get out of the plane with parachute.. no way he could get out.. and I work with planes all the time
@@kw9377 There are emergency exit doors in the plane. He just has to activate the bomb, and then open the emergency exit and jump out.
@@Jsuarez6Yeah but at 35000 feet he wouldn't make it down alive unless he had a oxygen tank with him too lol.
Phone Booth was way better but I get it 😂
So what happened to the second bomb the girl with blue hair?
She got away with it
I kinda was hopin that at then end ethan would see another man wearing an earpiece carrying a sketchy suitcase ready to board his flight but well i guess that would've been too cliche??
Just watched it, definitely not Die Hard but very good movie. If it wanted to be Die Hard it would have needed more of a memorable score. If they do a part 2 and it ends up that he’s working at the same place JM did?!?..🤯 lol
How did both carry ons ended in the same plane?
By far my least favorite part was the car scene, entire thing was the furthest thing from realistic I’ve seen in awhile
So much action. I started to dissociate at the end tho
Yo that high way scene was top tier right ! WOW
Yeah that was an awesome scene!
“Car scene” 🤦♂️ yikes, just terrible
This movie was so so so so bad that it was actually kind of entertaining, but then the ending reminded you of just how bad it actually was, but yet I was still entertained.
I think its a pretty good movie. The acting was good. Characters were good. Plot was alright. It was engaging. Nothing more u can ask for
The fact its so popular shows its definitely a good movie
I liked the luggage used in this film any idea the brand ?
Probably from temu
I dont think a long time great employee will get fired on his first offense of having liquor in his coffee lol
Drinking on the job working at security for a airline is a pretty big deal man
I live in Cuba, but traveled through LAX several times, attention to detail from officers, nice, clean place, state of the art technology.. And of course, trained personnel who care about safety of passengers and homeland Security... That is what commies and fundamentalists in Cuba fail to grasp... Ideology does not determine values of people
Long live America!
How did the villain manage to carry a gun w/ him onto the plane?(used in the cargo hold scene) help me out pls
Got it from the cop he killed in the cargo area, he already passed security by then
@@Vale9118 Whoops, that detail slipped past me-thanks for pointing it out!
I couldn't get through the movie I thought it was hot garbage so did it get better after firsthour??? Hard to believe
A very poor attempt to replicate Die Hard.
2 out 10
The similarities were definitely there!
What happened to the other bag with thr girl
She got away with it
So I’m guessing he only took his badge on vacation so we’d all know he’s now a cop huh? 😂
Exactly!
Everyone bitching that this movie was bad cause it wasn’t realistic or whatever who gives a fuck people have there own taste of movies on what they like i personally enjoyed it cry me a river that it wasn’t perfect smh
Movie was sick other than that awful CGi car crash scene that was just unrealistic
Tbh i didnt think it was bad. It looked weird but it all happened so bad and it looked so abnormally cool imo. Like transformers or something idk how to explain it
…on to the speak no evil after this
That movie is definitely worth a watch!
Just watched Speak No evil it and loved it. McAvoy never misses.
what about the emogirl?
I really liked it
Guys open your eyes and you will see that this movie is absolute garbage. Every character in the movie is dumb as fuck. The fact that the viallain didnt kill the main character in the end instead he gave him a peg talk is ridiculous. The movie started amazingly well only to become unwatchable. 2/10
You’re too generous. 1 out of 10 complete garbage.
It put me to sleep I couldn’t stay awake
Dogshit attention span
Dogshit attention span
Not a Christmas movie (for me). Yes, the car crash scene was amazing! I agree with all of your comments. My biggest plot issue was that Ethan moved the nerve gas to the larger luggage. I thought he was going to just remove the red ribbon and send the wrong luggage with the wrong contents to the traveler, leaving the nerve gas behind at the airport.
It makes sense that he didn’t do that though cos the guy’s phone had a detector for the bomb so he wouldn’t have been fooled by it
I didnt understand the bag switch thing. Did he or didnt he?
No he didn’t he went to hide and left the tracker there because he knew he could defuse it so he escaped with his life in the meanwhile
@@MitchellPate-mx2jnur wrong. He did switch it. He took out the bomb of one case and put it in another.
Thats why the suitcase didnt fit inside
It was great!
Way too many plot holes to thoroughly enjoy it. I’m all for suspending disbelief but there were so many things that just didn’t make sense.
What was the crime he didn't report but he saw?
737 cargo hold is not that big lol
So did Jason get his job back?
Yes he did!
It was the worst movie. The acting sucks. The main actor was piss
poor. I will never get my life back.
Cry harder
You must be a winner. You think you're so important huh?
Good movie I really enjoyed it. Its no Die Hard but that does not matter. Netflix are starting to release some decent movies.
Yeah for what it was this movie was okay!
The Netflix target audience chirping in the comments mad that you called a cliche and not believable movie cliche and not believable is really funny lmao
Thought it was great for a sequel
wasn’t it pretty obvious why the traveler would go down to the cargo? i mean, he got the noti on his phone the bomb was being manually tempered with, he knew the case was in cargo since it couldn’t be with him, and who else would be able to temper the bomb other than the man he just taught how to do it?
It's just too convenient that there's a door that leads directly to the cargo hold. Especially since no such thing exists
Worst thing that’s ever happened to me…I don’t know
As dumb as this movie was overall - though Bateman was great - the ending/reveal was just ridiculous.
Beyond that … meh. And it isn’t remotely a Christmas movie, not even in the Die Hard sense.
Yeah it's pretty much just a fun ride!
Nowhere as good as Die Hard.
Yes Christmas movie but different
STUPID MOVIE…!!! Sooooo unrealistic it’s beyond belief!!! This could have been so easily stopped had this been in real life! 🙄🙄. Don’t waste your time!
Buddy. Its a movie
Great movie
