how to do alignment with 321 when three planes are not perpendicular to each other. For that datum target points defined 3 points for primary, 2 points for secondary and 1 point for tertiary. ? thank you
321 alignment is actually alignment with features plane ( formed from 3 points), line ( formed from 2 points ) and a point, all of this elements has to take 6 degrees of freedom, 3 translations and 3 rotations from XYZ axis, keep this in mind when you do alignment, all drawings has to respect this rule, if they do not then they are with errors. Keep an eye on the control frame from the drawing, where the datums are, they tell you how you make the alignment.

Hello, find in the drawing what datums constructs the main alignment. Search the tolerance frames, usualy it is ABC if it is in that order, but the frames or in the right below corner of the drawing you can find the info. If you have frames with only 1 or 2 datums inside, then ask the mechanical designer where is the main alignment.
Yes, it is, but I recommend learning on harder software when you first start your measurement carier, tou will hit some walls and find out stuff that on Calypso you have due to user frendly platform.

Nice, but acc. to ISO5459 you should to measure datums as a tangential elements.
Agree, Calypso has an option that does this by default. But if you measure acc ISO 5459 you will not have repeatability

You could just use common datum tool and create common datum out of two datums.
