Yeah, i love doo wop. Theres a young man on the scene by the name of kid kyle, he's doing a lot of touring with the students. He's no Leroy King but the kid can sing. It's so refreshing to see that the younger generation embrace the music also.
There are so many of these out there. What amazes me is they keep popping up. The more I think I know about doo wop the more I realize there is to know
What a great find! Thanks for posting it and thanks for turning me on to it. Pittsubrgh was always a hotbed of doo wop and it's good to know that unknown treasures from there are still turning up. According the the Doctors of Doo Wop, "I'll Do Anything" was released in 1961.
Just beautiful....very obvious these people did it because they loved what they were doing and their passion is reflected in the finished product. Nobody got rich, but God bless you all.
Good point. Doo Wop was mainly a term that came about in the 60's out on the west coast and in the midwest. It got popular out east when Gus Gossert brought the term with him from California to NY. When the music was new it wasn't known as doo wop.. it was pop, rock and roll or r&b
think they were from either Clairton or McKeesport.....saw them once in '62....nice sound....The Diadems, The LaRells, the Del Pris.....great Pittsburgh sounds....go Steelers!!!!
Pitt had such a wonderful sound. So many damn good groups. I recently found out "The Pennants" on World are actually The Laurels.. That just about blew my mind
Hi P.J. I'm from the GREAT OLDIES TOWN OF: PITTSBURGH, PA. This particular song; was recorded at ''GATEWAY STUDIO'S'' at the ''GOLDEN TRIANGLE''....I know for sure, for my manager Ike Weems an his FAMULOUS group ''THE CAPITOLS'' RECORDED AT THE SAME STUDIO! MR. LEE LOVE SINGER/SONGWRITER!
@PJDooWop The term Doo Wop took off after the Specialty LP of the same name became popular. The Sound of the City used the term " Doo Wah groups" in '68. At the time we called all musical RnR sounds Rock'nRoll. The first sub-style we identified way Rockabilly...
That's what I use. The problem I had was my camera shoots videos in a format Windows Movie Maker doesn't accept. I have since figured out how to convert them, but I still haven't found the time to produce actual videos.
That sounds about right. I know the term was being used on the West Coast (and apparently around Chicago) as far back as the mid 60's. That would explain why a California label such as Specialty would have used it
This is one hell of a record...so well done......lead, background, music great for 1964....should have been at least 1959.......I could see the Albumn now. The Paragons meet The Jesters meet The Diadems
I would make videos of the records playing but I haven't figured out how to overlay the music. The sound I get from my camera is horrible so this is how my vids will be until I figure the rest out.
Very rare. I had only heard it once before. Thanks for posting. Do you remember The Paragons meet The Jesters? I had the LP and taped it on cassette back then. Can you find some? Rosie
Im from Pittsburgh and I don't care what anyone says, Pittsburgh had the best doo wop groups
this is what UA-cam is all about.......many thanks and much love to all the doo wopper's every where.

Porky Chedwick was the best Daddio of the radio. He gave everyone a chance. His heart was as big as 5 elephants. A more wonderful man can't be found

@PJDooWop Use Windows Movie maker. They have digital tracks for video and audio and will join them. Follow the instructions.
Good one.
Doober Woptowski had a backup group called the Doo Wops.Doober never liked his name so he droped it. So you have DOO WOP..

Very rare. I had only heard it once before. Thanks for posting.

It's not hard to post onto UA-cam. Hit upload and then locate the file.

I think this song's alright. Not mind blowing. but OK.
