@@JonoFreedrixWildlife I like the first week or two of December. There are a lot of people there around the Festival they hold and Thanksgiving. It's just easier to get a spot by the ponds then. Have you checked out the Site Guide I wrote? It's all about when, where and how to photograph at Bosque del Apache.
Hi, want to know, do you use tripod/ monopod. I have seen in many f your photographs the shutter speed is less than 1/500s. As a rule to get sharp photo in hand held, your shutter speed should be atleast of your focal length of your lens. What kind of lens do you use? Plz explain. Thank you
It depends, when I used the big heavy Canon 600mm f/4 lens I almost always used a tripod, and sometimes a monopod. With the lighter Olympus gear and the 7 stops of image stabilization I could hand hold to 1/60 of a second. It's important to keep the elbows tucked into the body to all stability when hand holding.
gorgeous photos - great explanations of why - tyvm -
Thank you!
excellent images, which I admire!
Very practical and useful video! Plans for selling the last book on Kindle plataform?
Not sure yet, might republish both later in the year.
Splendid video! I especially loved the Long-billed Curlew with the palms in the background.
Thanks we were walking to the beach in San Diego as it walked along the top of a sand dune. A very cool start to that day.
Great content. What gear are you using now?
I'm in between systems but probably going with teh OM System OM 1 Mark II.
Gorgeous video, good photos and good tips :) thank you Gail very informative video and so relaxing 😌❤️🐦

Bosque Del Apache is on my must go-to list. What time of year is best in your opinion?
I guess I should buy your Bosque book for details, lol
