By the way, this IS the jam! Hot single, totally is in there for me with the Parade album, just a great time in Black American music! .::Modernaire
Then there's the whole story behind Jesse's album title "Shockadelica": There are some stories that "Shockdelica" was a word that used to get tossed around the Prince camp a lot, but nobody really knows who "created" it. Prince, after hearing that Jesse Johnson's forthcoming album was going to be titled "Shockadelica" but had no title track, said that "every album with a great title should contain a title track", so he recorded a song with the same title -- But it doesn't appear that the song was ever intended for Jesse Johnson's album...It was instead more of a joke to give the impression that Jesse Johnson stole the title from Prince. @@thepromiseman7745 - Nah, I believe Wendileona, she or he has no reason to lie about Jesse and Prince. I believe they were friends, Prince was friends with Morris Day. In the beginning there was a lot of tension, I'm sure because Prince just did these guys wrong. He was scared of their enormous talent and even said so later on in interviews. Also, he was cheating them on royalties and what he was paying them and all. Smh But they patched it all up, and mended their differences. Prince was a fan of Morris Day and his "I'm so cool" schtick, he said so and did Under the Cherry Moon with Morris Day buddy and sidekick Jerome Benton because he wanted to get the attention and praise that Morris got in Purple Rain. Lol Dude admired the hell out of Jesse's guitar playing too, and probably was a Lil intimidated. Lol
One thing Wendileona, Jesse wasn't Mr. Modernaire, that title belonged to Prince bandmate Dez Dickerson. He was Mr. Modernaire, great song, I enjoyed it when he performed it in Purple Rain.
@@tubucoco looooooool .. prince said he was actually scared of Jesse Johnson on guitar

Jesse did right by bring sly on this song ! Giving respect where its due !
No doubt Sly's contribution helped make this the hit that it was, so Sly certainly helped Jesse, too.

Prince owes it all to Jesse Johnson ! he taught Prince everything from Music to fashion!
