Yes, the 80's were the "BEST" years of my life. I met Prince, The Time and Vanity 6 and i was good friends with Morris Day's sister Michelle. I really miss the 80's and I still have their autographs. Whenever we went around The Time we had a good time. I'm stuck in the 80's.

Motown owned the name The Jackson 5 so when Joe Jackson moved his son's from Motown Records to CBS Epic in 1976 they could no longer record or preforme as the Jackson 5 thus the Jackson 5 became known as the Jacksons. Its just business and if Prince's estate release the name Morris Day and the time to Morris Day then Prience;s estate would lose money; It is possible that Morris could reach an agreement with Prince's estate which would allow him to use the name but such agreement could cause Morris Day to lose money. There are some legal loop holes that Morris could use but I will not state those loop holes in this post.
