Actual city of Kharkhorin was much much bigger just as displayed in a well established local museum there. Another thing to correct here is that the two humped camel or Bactrian Camel wasn't imported but rather it was domesticated here on the steppes of Mongolia. We still have the ancestors of the Bactrian camel, Khavtgai, the wild camel, that is roaming the remoteness of the Gobi today.

Most mongol invasions were small band of bandits looting trip when the time on grassland was tough. Even today mongol region has the highest robberies. Before and after mongol empire, this place was actually victims of invasion by Chinese empire. Numerous Chinese victory stone tablets recording military conguests were discovered in mongol region.

Met a Mongolian woman on a cruise ship. Also, her German husband, Very cool. Asked how they got together and she said was a student in Germany, Her father owns 500 horses in Mongolia and she is considered wealthy so she was able to study abroad. Her German husband confirmed that Mongolian men and wrestling is a real thing, In fact, he had to wrestle his 2 brothers in laws when he met them. Thanks for the video and glad you made it out of Russia. Agree that their action was extremely stupid.
