He decided it's more important to boost his student's confidence than it would be to show the harsh reality this one time. And because he almost never does that (not that they know, at least) it means a lot.
Dark Shadow did actually speak several times already during the Sports Festival Tournament, though it was usually only like 4 or 5 words. This is the most chatty we've seen him be. Also Momo made a straight up grenade launcher in the obstacle race, so she can make some pretty complex stuff. I think there's also a side comic that explain the Matryoshka dolls are just her go-to default item when she needs to create something because it was the first thing she ever created when her quirk manifested when she was a kid.
She can actually make anything, as long as she understands how it works, and the molecular structure of all the components. Her quirks basically allows her to turn body fat into other molecules, and combine them into other objects. So as longs as she has the knowledge, her quirk is limitless in what she can create
Magnus Husted it's even worse, she'd be losing nutrition because her body would be using energy to process the food she threw into it, she'd do much better just sitting down and waiting for help or trying to get to civilization than trying to feed herself through the quirk.
I love that even though Aizawa is supposed to be teaching them, he still has that hero mentality. He saw that his student was suffering and that she had lost her confidence to the point of panicking and freezing and decided that the only way to show her that she could be a hero was to allow himself to be caught. That's why Recovery Girl said he was a big softy.
I took it more as "feeling", like when you feel that you're doing good. Mineta mentions back in season 1, that his balls stick for longer, depending on how he feels. But what you said makes a lot of sense actually

Yeah, even when the teachers lose, it doesn't really devalue them as heroes. They're obviously not going all-out, they're trying to test and challenge the kids not brutalize them. Thirteen could literally suffocate or even disintegrate them in an actual fight, for instance. The requirements for the kids to "win" are pretty lax compared to an actual fight, too, so it's designed in a smart way that the teachers losing doesn't automatically make them seem worse.
Yeah All Might is kind of hilarious, because he's such a newcomer to teaching, so he just approaches this exam with a "I HAVE TO GO ALL OUT, OBVIOUSLY!" mentality that's absolutely NOT a good approach to teaching, or even particularly safe for his students lol. I like to think that Eraserhead or Nezu sat him down after the exams were over and explained to him that using the students as blunt object weapons is generally not a good idea.
you forget that he was going up against bakugou and midoriya and half of bakugou's injuries were self-inflicted. but yeah, the falcon knee to the jaw followed by the overhand smash with another child in his hand may have been a touch overboard.
given how most parents in naruto are so much like their kids that I suspect they actually just use a special clone jutsu to make babies, maybe Aizawa is Kakashi's dad.
I love Tokoyami's face when Tsu grabs him with her tongue at the start there. It's subtle, but you can see he isn't to sure about it. So is trying to keep his composure and just accept what is about to happen.
The cuffs dont have any function besides restraining its just a passing condition, honestly Ectoplasm could of done more after he was trapped. Its more like, ahh nice, out of the box thinking, ill give this to you. Yeah the implication is that alot of the teachers while not going easy, were not 100% serious as well. They needed to give the students the ability ro grow and crushing them completely wouldn't have helped with that
especially in the case of all might. if he actually hit midoriya or bakugou, well, remember how people thought nomu went to space? that's what an actual hit from all might is like. he's playing with them, all the teachers are to an extent.

You may be right about the drunk idea regarding Ectoplasm's quirk. Alternatively, it's worth noting that Karaoke is also listed among the things that Ectoplasm likes or enjoys, so maybe he can just create six extra clones if he's feeling positive or happy.
I was always under the assumption that it's because he spits out the ectoplasm to make his clones so the act of karaoke, or just singing in general, exercises his throat muscles to make it easier to do so.
I read it as it being a type of Quirk which can be influenced by it's users' mental state, the same way Mineta states in the USJ attack that his emotional state can affect the adhesiveness of his balls.

Both Momo and Todoroki have high specs but Momo has 6/5 or an S level in Intelligence so if they just work together they can take Eraser head...at the end thats was his plan make them win together to gain her confidence and teach Todoroki more Cooperativeness.
Yaoyorozu's power is turning her body's fat into anything she knows down to the molecular composition. She theoretically *could* make food, she clearly can make organic materials if she was making wood, but it'd be suicide in a survival situation. She'd be turning her body's fat into food, basically starving herself to create food, and even if the exchange rate is 1:1 she'd lose energy overall metabolizing the food she ate, every time she created and ate a hamburger she'd be just speeding her way to starvation. However, it can still be useful in a smaller scale for survival, say she's stranded with a stock of food but after 2 or 3 days most of it goes bad and she's forced to resort to just old bread or crackers for a long time, she *could* eat those, then use her quirk to create the types of food, vitamins and fats she'd be lacking. Basically, if she's trying to survive with only 1 type of stock of food, she can survive just well enough as if she had a healthily diverse stock. Also the really nice thing is that if she's, let's say, going to rescue someone stranded in a desert, she can literally eat a lot before leaving and, when she gets there, just make the person some water, a nice sandwich and a couple of pills for whatever illness the person has. Not the perfect fighting quirk, but quite a good rescue one.
Azure Anime - While that restriction may have been mentioned, it's unlikely that it was because she physically couldn't, but because it wouldn't be useful in most situations. Making food would starve her and inorganic materials are generally sturdier for construction, but there's no reason to assume that it wouldn't be possible.

For the Ectoplasmer power, I always assumed that they brought up the karaoke because his quirk depends on vocal cords, so like after 2-3 songs at karaoke his vocal cords will be warmed up, and that's why he can make more clones. That's just my assumption though

I like how the show/manga managed to take the fact that Momo lost so easily in the tournament and how disappointed she was in it and make it relevant for her growth. There were signs of self-doubt during the internship stuff, but to have it pay off during final exams shows that Hori remembers his characters and has great plans for their growth.

Her swallowing the cuffs is more secure than having them on her person since they would get trapped in that final situation. More importantly than that, it was a split second decision. I would say that the woven nitinol-composite is more complex than the flash-bang. In order to make nitinol that reverted to that specific shape after heating, she'd have to give it a very specific molecular structure.

Horikoshi confirmed a mistake when first introducing her quirk. She can make anything *NON-LIVING* , and that includes organic materials. Therefore, if she was introduced as making inorganic materials, it was a mistake in conveying her quirk at first.
He didnt just take it easy on her for pitty sake. When momo missed the trigger on the catapault he could have moved in and ended it but he took a false step basically to give her a break. Its not like shes trash and needs enemies to throw fights. Shes just developing her mental state still and its his job to help her
Yeah, Momo's kind of a beast when you see just how complex she can get in terms of molecular structure and mechanisms. Plus she could make fully painted Matryoshka dolls, presumably by the atom, and in a way that's so non-intensive that she could just spit them out without it slowing her down or straining her at all. But you could probably write that off a a contrivance for the sake of the audience knowing what the things she makes are instead of them just being uncolored 3D-printer stuff. EDIT: I would've said she can only do non-organic materials, but you're right, that's a wooden catapult. So I guess you can see organic matter as a soft-cap rather than a hard-cap, because the organic matter is so much more complex. Like, if she tried to make meat she might fuck up and malform a protein into a prion and now your brain is dead.
MountSec - Her back was turned to the both of them. The only person she has ever flashed due to her Quirk was Kyoka(Earphone Jack), and that was due to underestimating the size of the insulation she created during the USJ arc.
The cuffs are just normal cuffs - they don't nullify the quirk of whoever it's attached on. It's just another win condition to mimic arresting villains in real life.

Power loader is a support hero, he is the guy who teaches support heroes and builds gadgets he isn't a combat guy. And I think ectoplasm just let his guard down.
The reason it goes up to 36 after he does karaoke is because he uses his mouth to shoot out his clones, so when he exercises his mouth with singing, his number of clones increases.

Shane’s reaction to Momo’s age reveal was priceless! It’s great to see Momo overcoming her issues when it comes to lack of confidence and the teamwork between her and Todoroki was great. I freaking love Aizawa! Great thing about this exam that it doesn’t lessen the strength of the teachers even if they lose. Tokoyami and Tsu’s teamwork was also awesome! Just realised that Power Loader (the guy who fought Iida and Ojiro) returned in today’s dub episode.

She can make anything *NON-LIVING* , and that includes organic materials.
Therefore, if she was introduced as making inorganic materials, it was a mistake in conveying her quirk at first.

Yeah, Momo's kind of a beast when you see just how complex she can get in terms of molecular structure and mechanisms.
Plus she could make fully painted Matryoshka dolls, presumably by the atom, and in a way that's so non-intensive that she could just spit them out without it slowing her down or straining her at all. But you could probably write that off a a contrivance for the sake of the audience knowing what the things she makes are instead of them just being uncolored 3D-printer stuff.
EDIT: I would've said she can only do non-organic materials, but you're right, that's a wooden catapult. So I guess you can see organic matter as a soft-cap rather than a hard-cap, because the organic matter is so much more complex. Like, if she tried to make meat she might fuck up and malform a protein into a prion and now your brain is dead.

Power loader is a support hero, he is the guy who teaches support heroes and builds gadgets he isn't a combat guy. And I think ectoplasm just let his guard down.
The reason it goes up to 36 after he does karaoke is because he uses his mouth to shoot out his clones, so when he exercises his mouth with singing, his number of clones increases.
