Awww, just found you guys, I just adopted a budgie a month an a half ago. Trying to set up his cage and you guys helped, will be watching, your son is so cute and is a natural....
Please take natural branches of different thicknesses. So you don't always have to support your claws and they both have more fun nibbling wood. I have 2 budgies and like to nibble on cork bark. (by google Translator, i am from Germany)
@Moredhel83 Plus, Cork bark is a type of wood! Not a literal cork! your wrong! It's cork *BARK* Get your woods right man, WE ARE NOT STARTING AN ARGUMENT!
I recommend putting twist ties on the cage openings cause birds are really smart and can easily get through and escape and I also think that you could add some more toys like foraging toys so they have some stuff to shred! I have some ideas for different toys: bird kabob, finger traps, Maybe add more natural wood perches that are different shapes and sizes, tissue paper, a ladder with things to do, little bridge, and stainless steel bowls for pillows food!
Yep. Once my mom came home and all 5 of are birds where on top of the cage with the cage door cracked open.. Whenever we leave we put on zip tyes now. My birds could of escaped or deid that day.
I am wondering why you don't have any natural material foraging toys. I have a cockatiel and use medium parrot size toys she loves them. She actually perches on them to play (chew) on.
Lol it's so cute when she did those baby voices to the little cute bird, I don't know why but I always find myself automatically talking to animals in a baby voice😂
Nice cage! I have a similar cage, it's a finch flight cage I got at petco. I paid about the same too. My Cookie LOVES his cage. I bought the natural branches for it & ran them so they point to the front of the cage except for the ones by the food dishes. I hope Pillow enjoys his new cage! :D
This is awesome! So glad you decided to get a bigger cage for him! I have two budgies and I would suggest you put some natural wood toys and foraging toys for them to destroy. It’s there instincts to chew wood and forage
I got my new cage for my budgie like 2 months ago I started moving all his stuff got sticks for him his toys some leaves and he flew right to it soon as he saw his stuff he’s like “yes it’s *MINE*” he’s very happy in his new cage he loves it I thought he would take a while but meh I hope pillow is going great in his new cage it doesn’t take long for them to adjust to their new cages !
Your channel is great and I love your birds! They’re precious. I have noticed that they don’t have much foraging/shredding toys. Pillows toys are all plastic and although he may like them it doesn’t really provide much mental stimulation. This doesn’t mean get rid of the toys he has it just means add some better ones and the ones they destroy will have to be replaced regularly. Every bird is different so your birds may not play with those toys but it really is recommended! This isn’t a hate comment or anything but even bird owners don’t always know everything or may need some things pointed out! I love your videos and your son is absolutely adorable lol
I have 2 budgies, and a cockatiel I am going to try to get a girl soon for mating. I would recommend natural perches, dowls will hurt their feet and cause infection, so you can put them on an angle, and carve the dowls it will help. Witch you did a great job with the perches! Also try different toys to see what he likes, foraging toys are great! And natural shredding toys instead of plastic toys for the morgority of his toys
I love yall's channel, and just subscribed. Love the new cairn terrier. Same as toto, from the wizard of oz. Love the new budgie, and other 2 birds. Kid is cute as a button. Glad I discovered your channel on You Tube. I'm a huge animal lover. Hope you and your family are well, and stay safe with this crazy virus. From Sonny in New Orleans, La.
I would point out that a perfect budgie cage allows the budgie room to fly from one end to the other. Perches and toys are absolute musts but I would advice against filling it up and/or spreading the items out to the point where he cannot fly back and forth inside anymore. Much love! The new cage is a LOT better than the old one! :D
You should get them a budgie trapeze. I found them on Amazon and they’re made out of material the birds can chew on. My Budgies love theirs and look so cute when they curl up on it.
PLEASE READ. 🙂 I'm happy pillow finally got an upgrade, but sad that to your words it literally only is a "little upgrade". I don't know what research you did, but the minimum requirements for a single budgie is 30" horizontal width, 18" front to back depth, and 18" tall. A cage called "The You and Me Finch Flight Cage" is exactly the minimum requirements, and often COST LESS than what you just got. It's a slightly better and more proper cage, for less. A bird needs room to fly from one side of the cage to the other side, even at 30" there's barely enough room for that, and your new cage is shorter than 30" wide. While the importance of 18" deep of front to back space is for a bird to have room for their long tails to not hit cage bars, a variety of perches for foot health, and a variety of toys, all without compromising wing space for flapping and stretching. If you're new cage is still within return policy, then being the bird influences that you are, and if your budgie has a future of being caged more as life grows, I would hope you consider an exchange for your special Pillow to get at least the minimum of 30" horizontal width, 18" deep, such as the "You and Me Finch Flight Cage". Smaller cages are convenient for humans and where to fit the cages, BUT a bird's necessities are often more than what the average bird owner realizes. And the type of breeder cage you got, is for when birds are either show birds or just breeding for money, neither of which are kind situations for the animals themselves. I would not recommend you saying the cage is suitable for multiple birds, or you should mention for your viewers that it's not size friendly to have two or more birds in. (Additional set-up notes... Putting perches going directionally back to front at the ends of the cage is good, leaving the center open, free of perches, to encourage a bird to fly from one side to the other side of the cage. Flying being more important than scooting the long horizontal space or perches and toys being in the way of flight path. Having toys hang from the tops of walls instead of the roof also keeps paths open, or toys in the corners works too, and still provide play for a caged bird ). 🙂
I got a bigger cage for my 3 parakeets . i had a med. Size cage when i got my first 2 but wanted a floor standing one . than because the birds are so cute got one more . now that i have a large cage . who knows one more bird may come home
I'm new to the channel so if you have a video on this already, I'm sorry for asking. I would love to see how you all add texture to your flat perches? If you have not already done a video on that I would love to see one! I own a grey, umbrella cockatoo and recently took in a budgie. I took him because he was being bullied by another parrot and planed on adopting him out. Well... He simply just won us over so he is staying. I really enjoy your channel and i am glad I found ya!
I love the new cage 4 pillow I just feel my two cents for what it's worth the doors would be better tilted down so pillow can land and walk up into the cage if that's possible?
@@ParakeetWorld dude, chill. The bird is clearly very well taken care of, they clearly know what they're doing, and he doesn't spend all his time in the cage. It's a very good setup
Nerdwithamouth Two words i said, "Not really". And you come bashing me like I swore to you ten thousand times. Even if they spend outside a lot, it's still good to have a big cage.
First you should get natural perches only, even if you carved the dowel perches.Next you should get shredding and foraging toys to mimic what they would do in the wild. Also you need stainless steel bowls because plastic bowls collect bacteria easily.Last their diet needs to be pellets 60%, veggies 30%, and fruits 10% because seeds can cause fatty liver disease and heart problems.☺️
I would put more natural perches so his feet aren't always in one position and some shredding and foraging toys(Edit: Sorry, I saw that you talked about the dowel perches)
its not nessesary just use the grate it comes with and some paper for the bottom, its better for them. And this lady honestly doesnt know a lot about birds and what they need, the cage she bought is too small :/
Dispensers can harbor a lot of bacteria unless they are completely metal and glass and cleaned at least a few times a day otherwise the safest and most hygienic option Is to use metal bowls for both food and water
Hello this hello kya why you are not putting pillow in puzhal sketch in next video can you pillows cage pillow go like how you are how you treat your good the the pillow is the first bird but how you treat it how is he got so much friendly can tell me in the nest video
It's better for different breeds of birds to have there own space, as budgies easily annoy cocktails. And cocktails can get teratoirall around different breeds of birds.
hey a friendly tip birds should not be on dowel perches even though you chisel them and plastic bowls will have lots os bacteria and get dirtier over a short amount of time. :)
“Can Krista’s voice go any higher ? Yes , it can ! “ 😂 I do that tooo. Can’t help it when there is cuteness overload lol love it !
It takes time for birds to adjust. Your son is a natural.
That’s nice to say
I like that you are upgrading your setup for pillow, but I have a suggestion. I think you should give pillow more shreddable and foraging toys.
Pillow looks like he likes hes new cage very much!
Awww, just found you guys, I just adopted a budgie a month an a half ago. Trying to set up his cage and you guys helped, will be watching, your son is so cute and is a natural....

Cork isn't a good idea, birds can swallow the pieces they chew off!
@@Moredhel83 You are wrong. Dowel perches and plastic perches can cause your bird to have bumble foot, arthrites, or presure soars

i agree my parrots all love natural material foraging toys and i think every parrot owner should supply their birds with toys like these
I agree my budgie has a sea grass trampaze he loves to destroy
Same my green cheek loves his foraging toys

Love Pillow's new cage! It's nice and big for him. I can't wait to see the updated version of both Pillow's and Pearl's cage!! 🐦🦜🐦🦜🐦🦜
Pearl was more excited about the new cage than pillow was he fell asleep in his new cage lol

I also brought the same cage

Omg🥰
How do y’all deal with poop outside the cage ?
Thanks to tell me that if you buy a cage online you have to put it together yourself

@@Random-xq4by exactly like I said metal bowls or STAINLESS STEEL there the same thing
That’s true, but bacteria can grow in the plastic ones. Sometimes you just have to deal with the poop in the bowls, and change the food a lot
