Kim Cattrall DEFINITELY dodged a bullet by skipping this dreck. "How I met your Father" is certainly a step up, in my opinion, yet I hated how they weakly wrote out Samantha's character.
Kim Cattrell has the worst part on HIMYF. Her scenes are shoved in only to tie in to the "how I met" format of the show. It feels like "isn't this so funny, because remember how I met your mother!" It isn't a good show, but I think cutting her out would help a lot.
@@pterodactylpie8825 choosing “wisely” would’ve been choosing a third hypothetical project. If she’d gone with this reboot/sequel she’d have gotten a much bigger bag tho.
Justice for Steve! He might have cheated on Miranda before, yet he felt remorseful immediately. Miranda seemingly has NO qualms about what her affair with Che will do to her husband and her teenage son, and with no irony, they show a flashback Miranda chastising Carrie for moving to Paris, when she hypocritically does the exact same thing!
Agree! They made her character act, and I do not say this lightly, a bit crazy in this season. I get that she's caught her second wind of life and is excited blah blah blah but there is still a way to write that in a way that feels like a real person with some kind of semblance or tie to her original character. It killed me when she made fun of Carrie for believing in heaven after being widowed because it was so "irrational," yet she was consistently ridiculous AND thin-skinned the whole season.
@@14Juicyhearts Their problem was trying to put waaay to many storylines in one season. Season one should of just been Miranda figuring things out its fine if she wants to explore her sexuality but show the fear the questions the doubts etc. Then in the last episode show her divorcing Steve and Miranda meeting Che then the second season could have been the miranda and Che thing.
As an Indian the whole 'saree but actually wearing lehenga' thing just shows how out of touch this show truly is. The 'diverse' characters are there just to uplight Carrie and make her seem better. It still writes as if it's 2002 and not 2022
It's not like Carrie has to know the difference between them. I like that Seema gave her the ok to wear it but white people on the intern3t are still triggered and offended on behalf of the Indians.
@@Ronkyort0dox Carrie doesn't have to know the difference sure. But Seema does right. Like there's a difference. They are not the same thing. They could have had her wear a saree. And white people wouldn't even know. And we wouldn't have any probs

SO ... let's just pretend they don't exist shall we :O
Samantha made the original show. Without her the group dynamics is just not the same. She's the one who brought jazz and provided best commentary in the original. The lack of her is being felt in this reboot

As a GenXer like "the Girls/core 4", I never felt as if SATC was trying to be ironic. (I will grant the point on everything said about SATC 2, lol!) It especially didn't feel ironic bc it was based on the real-life stories of Candace Bushnell. With that in mind, from what I've seen of AJLT, I would describe it as unironically "woke". Gen X, for the most part, has been respectful & adaptive; it's not like they just thawed us from a block of ice, smh & lol!!
The Conners (Roseanne) is ending in its 7th season. Will & Grace lasted two. Murphey Brown had 1 sad season. That Sex and the City's reboot limps into its 2nd season is kind of surprising. Its very much of its time, for the series and the characters. Your critique of the show reminded me a little of 13 Reasons or Euphoria. There is nobody to clean up the abandoned stories that get pushed of to the sides and forgotten about. There might be a video in the shows that have gone passed their expiration date. They had only so many original stories, the original show runner or actors who stuck around. Fleabag was a huge hit and Phoebe Waller-Bridge only did one season before finding the inspiration for a second season. She hasnt even come close to duplicating that success since.

The only highlight I can say in this show was Charlotte, she had some funny storylines, and it felt to me that her character was still rooted in the same energy of the original series. Obviously not always, but hers were the only ones I actually felt were bearable.
Charlotte was the worst. her over acting was palpable & she said every word more exaggerated than the next. her original character was lovely, romantic and kind. this new one is a terrible parent who is more concerned with social acceptance.
Except for her BS crap about inviting LTW and her hubby and then panicking to invite more black people. 🙄 then again that is what that racist book White Fragility teaches. I invite people to events regardless of race or orientation and Charlotte should have done the same. Also mark my words Harry will have the big C in his prostate or anus. They mentioned it too much and these writers aren't subtle at all.

I dosagree about Samantha. They didn't have Cattral so they did what was possible. They coudn't have Carrie spend an episode crying about missing Samantha because of the real life beef, so it was somehow clumsily addressed that they had a falling out and she moved to London. She did send flowers for Big, showing that there was some kind of hope for them still.
