As a scotsman, I watched in shock and horror on 9/11 from 3000 miles away. I remember my collegue at work saying, when the news broke america was under attack, "So this is how world war 3 starts". None of us said anything.. we all just stood there and silently agreed. We all expected whoever had done this, americas gonna NUKE their ass. Little could we anticipate the complexity of it. One day I will visit New York, its on my to-do list and Ill go to ground zero, bow my head and pay my respects.
If you can call it the 9/11 trilogy, I personally think United 93, World Trade Centre & Zero Dark Thirty are the go to films. Its a definative start, middle & end between the 3 of them.
George Bush Jr said it best, "America will have no greater ally than the United Kingdom" We stand together, always. Respect from 🏴

Thank You, God Bless You. Peace.
I deployed to Iraq with some boys from the UK in 2005-2006. Good fellas. I mean America was started by folks from the UK. We're basically brothers.
I’m sorry I don’t feel one bit sorry for this guy! I think of the men women and children who died that day and he didn’t care one bit about them!
By any means necessary.
The night vision in this movie is the first time I’ve seen a movie do something so realistically with that tech.
It's actually crazy that the lasers can only be seen with those night vision head wear.
@@MyOpinionish Pick your cell phone. Turn on the camera. Point your TV's remote control at the lens, and push a button on it. Watch for the flash. Now, you can test your remote to see if it works.
@@MyOpinionishthat's what those lasers were designed for. Only visible under NODs.
The film makers actually captured the look and feel of NODs accurately in this film vs how it's portrayed in 99.9% of films.
@@henryvandeventer2457 I think the guy who did kill bid laden in the movie was portrayed great according to the actual guy. He froze up a little bit because he knows what he just did.
The SEAL TEAM show does a pretty good job with the NVD they do the filming with.
Some of the footage in this one is actually TOO bright for the lighting conditions.
I've got just over 1500 flight hours on low and high light (the few days each month of the full moon), and having the scintillation spots and the one or two burnt-out tubes is very accurate. IR designators and floods are very realistic. I've used PEQ-15s on my rifle and IZLIDs on the crew weapons (240 or .50 cal) and some give you just the dot and some give you the entire beam depending on the strength. There's almost nothing quite as cool as hanging out the side or the tail of an aircraft on a machine gun with a laser that goes further than the distance the tracers will burn out. Best job I ever had.
Im British but i live and work in Pakistan. Ive spent a lot of time in Pesh, Rawalpindi and spent the night in Mansehra - 10mins from the Bin Ladin compound (its a tourist spot now haha!)
Im so glad you reacted to this movie, it's brilliant. They got a couple of details wrong (the crowd is shouting in Arabic, nobody speaks Arabic here, they speak Urdu and English 😂 - and Cake IS a very common thing to give. There are many cake shops here) - but the main depictions (at the time) were accurate.
For the record Pakistan is now a very safe and beautiful country. Amazing food and people, and super cheap to travel around.
Great movie! Amazing performance by Jessica Chastain. Good movie choice 👍
She really is great in this movie. She was the reason I liked this movie so much.
She’s my favorite actress.
💯💯💯
@@igloo2158Yeah, she’s awesome.
She also portrayed "Murph" older Murph. Interstellar
Never before have I been happy that anyone was gone from this earth.
Watch "The Devil's Double" about Saddam's son. That'll be another one you're glad's gone.
FYI - BJ asked how long it had been while the special forces team had been in Bin Laden's compound. I'm pretty sure it was in real time, so the amount of time you see in the film from when they land in the helicopter to when they get back on the helicopter is the amount of time it took in real life to carry out the operation. 20minutes I believe.
They were on the ground for 38 mins. The actual assault only took about 15 mins, the rest was 'cleaning up'.
Seal Team took forty minutes from landing in the courtyard, breaching the house, killing Osama & leaving. Pretty efficient imo
Great movie. Another couple GREAT movies-WindTalkers w/Nicolas Cage about the Navajo soldiers who did so much for this nation by using their native language to send coded messages during the war. Great movie!
Oh yes, that's a good one! And if you like Native American-related movies, another great one is "Thunderheart" with Val Kilmer, Graham Greene, Ted Thin Elk, several other good actors/actresses, and it's also based on a true story. A guy that is half Lakota Sioux is a fairly new FBI agent and gets reassigned to South Dakota at Wounded Knee. I still watch it at least once a year, great movie.
@@Doxymeister I LOVE Thunderheart , too!
all hollywood bs nonsense...
@@craighanson-rc1mdYou must be a real joy to be around…smh.
What movies do you recommend?
Shawn Ryan just did a great interview with Sarah Adams who is a CIA fixer and worked to capture terrorist leaders. She worked with all the CIA people in this film. Great interview, well worth the time. Shawn Ryan does great interviews on his UA-cam channel.
After reading the comments id say Shawn Ryan is way to real for about 90% of the people here. lol. But seriously for war/military/America, Shawn Ryan has some of the best content, and a damn good interviewer! 10/10
Shawn is great and has some awesome guests on. The interview with Sarah was very good.
Yes.
DJ Shipley might be the baddest dude I've ever seen.
That was an awesome interview!!!!
I always find the soldier whispering "Usama.... Usama..." in the dark is the creepiest part of the movie. Imagine opening your door a crack and seeing the glow on the helmets and then lights out.
In real life the CIA lady said if osama is there then his son will be and he will most likely be on the 2nd floor and will come out shooting. So one of the operators who spoke arabic whispered khaled..khaled..come here.. while looking up the stairs and having his gun pointed at the corner and khaled poked his head around and nighty night. So badass
I have watched this movie several times. I love it! Each time I see a little something I missed previously😳 The actress playing Maya is Jessica Chastain. Another really good movie with her is called “Molly’s Game”. Also has Kevin Costner. Check it out!😉
Love Molly’s Game. She’s great in The Martian as well.
"For God & Country, Jeronimo!"
The raid on the compound took approximately 40 minutes
Love this movie. When it happened my husband was in the hospital. (He was in a serious accident but is fine now), and I told him we got Bin Laden. He was able to high five me. I’ll never forget that. Good reaction you two. 🤩😍
This film is phenomenal! Everyone involved in the making of this deserves all the praise, Katherine Bigelow etc. But Jessica Chastain is tremendous, her acting is like a gut punch. Such a special performance.
Asia after the machine gun attack on Maya: "That's my last day!" - So funny!
Great reaction! Ditto on the guy who suggested 13 Hours. Sicario is also super intense.
OUR INTELLIGENCE NETWORK IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
This is the reason why U.S country very powerful and amazing....I love usa from india
I’ve always liked this movie because it shows what an incredible complex task it was to find UBL.
That’s an example of how well the C.I.A trained him & how well he picked up their training & used it against them!!
@@MikeyNottz Yes, I'm sure the CIA personally trained Osama to hijack planes and fly them into American buildings...
Two books with accounts of personal experiences of being in NY on 9/11: "Convictions" by then USADA John Kroger, who was called in to be part of the response team, and taped a hand lettered sign on his wind sheild so he wouldn't get shot coming in. Also, "Homer's Odyssey" by Gwen Cooper, who lived just a few blocks from the twin towers, and went through several days of anguish trying to get through the security cordon to rescue her cats. A police officer finally took pity on her on the basis that his wife would not forgive him if he didn't.
I hopped on the channel a little while back and it's always a good time! Thanks for everything. Love You Both
Great movie and 13 hours is awesome as well and Bj if you like a good read on how these teams were created give Rogue Warrior a read. A great book and R.I.P. Richard Marcinko 🙏🙏🙏😪😪😪
Great book, read that when I was young. 13 Hours hits different for me, since I was personally touched by that event in 2012. I don't think I will be able to watch that reaction unfortunately.. but that doesn't mean they shouldn't react to it.
13 hours is a great movie
13 hours probably the most accurate in terms of what happens in warfare
I was at a Papa Roach concert and I hear someone up at the bar say "something, something Bin Laden" and thought that was strange until Jacoby Shaddix announced it in the middle of the set. That night is tattooed in my memory and always will be.
I was at a Phillies game and the crowd started chanting - it was one of the times you will remember where you were for sure!
A great movie. There were so many good men and women who worked tirelessly to get UBL.
I still remember that London bus bombing when it happened
Me too
Kathryn Bigelow is a great film director. Another notable film she directed was The Hurt Locker, (Best Movie Oscar winner) which is also worth checking out. As for a fun fact about Kathryn Bigelow, she is married to James Cameron, the director of Avatar, Titanic and The Terminator. Great reaction Asia and BJ!
I never was able to finish The Hurt Locker. I think it was so slow and too boring. Zero Dark Thirty is a masterpiece on the other hand.
*WAS married
Reel talk! Hurt Locker was allegedly based off an interview an EOD guy gave Playboy. Our most disliked CSM was a consultant as well. The dude that gave the interview got so much crap from the EOD field when the movie came out he tried to sue the filmmakers. Unsuccessfully went after Oscar winners.
Point Break!
The director set the tone with the first scene. That was for the audience who remembered that day. The rest kind of an amoral look at all the jacked up stuff we did and went through just to find and kill one man. That scene at the end when she breaks down on the plane just summed it up.
Bayou Bengals huh? I'll be watching your boys tomorrow night from the 45 yard line. Ain't no bayou up here. Y'all are in my city. Roll Tide :)
That’s right. We play y’all tomorrow. What is the game? Day game right?
@@lagronemikal Roll Tide Roll baby!
She breaks down because while "mission accomplished", she's lost. Lost her soul. Lost her perspective. America lost more than it gained.

I wonder where the real "Maya" is now? I hope she's doing well and knows just how grateful we are for her tenacity!
London is heaviest surveillance city in world.📸📷
After almost 10 years, she didn’t even think about what’s next. I wouldn’t know where to go either after that.
Great movie about the women and seal teams that caught the most wanted man alive. Enjoyed your reactions guys. I remember it well the day we got him and 911.
Watch "Black Hawk Down"! It's one of the most realistic war movies I have ever seen!
If you liked this movie, a series you may enjoy is Homeland.
Great series!!
Agreed. Best series created.
Love me some Homeland. Dar Adal was my guy!
RIP James Gandolfini
I was wondering if you would consider watching” Million Dollar Baby” it’s definitely a tearjerker.
Jessica Chastain was nominated for Oscar... See her in great film "CRIMSON PEAK" Del Toro directed.
Did you read the end note about, what they did to the body...... no marterdo. For him.......
Best part, it was a woman that got him. Cherry on top!
Laid up in the ER, happy I found yalls channel
Hope you heal up soon. God bless.
The helicopters were basically new with stealth. They were untested in this type of mission from what I remember but were chosen because sneaking into another country required a quiet as possible low key entrance.
I believe only 5 of those helicopters exsisted at that time. .
Weird seeing heavy music used as sleep depervation, when I was a teen I used to fall asleep with my earphones on listening to metal. My mom put an end to that when I rolled over sleeping while listening to Megadeth and waking the entire house up when my earphone cable pulled out of my 5.1 surround system 😂
To an Islamic terrorist - who likely grew up listening to no music at all, since music is prohibited in Islam - hearing heavy metal music for the first time would be traumatising enough. But then having to listen to it blasted in your ears for hours on end with very little sleep, it is an effective torture method - which is why it was often used by the CIA during the war on terror.
They would play Britney Spears on high volume for interrogations
What's funny about this, is this is the sanitized, _audience friendly_ version of how things actually go down.
Most normal people don't comprehend just how much brutality needs to occur elsewhere in order for them to sleep soundly in their beds at night.
So true.
you talking about black ops missions?
The woman in the movie represents hundreds of different analysts, investigators and field agents whose compiled work aggregates with the singular character represented in the movie. The person who extracted the intelligence about Abu Ahmed was not the same person who identified Bin Ladens body was not the same person who identified the Compound was not the same person who was etc etc etc......but it is artistic license and a very effective movie.
@@TangieTown81that's the main reason that I have a problem with movies like this. The artistic license in creating composite characters like the one played by Jessica Chastain is necessary to protect the identities of the real people and to fit the broad outlines of the story into a movie format. But there should be more of a disclaimer attached that tells people that this is not the true story of what happened. People watch movies like this and think they're watching a documentary. They think they know the real story of what happened and will never read any more about it.
...and that the USA does things that Americans think only other countries do. Torture.
13 hours is one u 2 would Really be interested in knowing you from your other channels would like to hear ur thoughts on that situation
Great comments at the end, Asia and BJ. 👍 Gratitude and respect to all those who search out those who would harm us, to those run toward danger to protect us; prayers for all those who've lost loved ones to acts of terror. 🙏
When I was a child in grade school, growing up in the 70's, I was as rambunctious as any kid in those days. I grew up on a farm and we would climb up in a tree, or the hay loft of our barn. We would dare each other to jump... each jump we would go a little bit higher... I'm shocked I never broke anything. But right before we jumped, we would yell "Geronimo!" We don't know why we did this, except they did it on TV. It gave us the courage to jump, no matter what the danger.
It turns out that this started in World War II when the U.S. Army was training the very first airborne units. The night before their first jump, their instructor told the guys that... "You would be so scared, jumping out of a plane for the first time, that you'll forget your name... so when you get to the door, you yell Geronimo."
And that is how the tradition began.
Geronimo was an Apache warrior from what is now Texas. He fought both Mexico and the United States as both countries encroached into traditional Apache territory (Modern day Texas, New Mexico, and parts of southern Oklahoma)
Geronimo was one of the most fierce, most brave of all the Native peoples fighting for his people. So yelling his name is both a sign of respect and a way to give you courage.
I had forgotten all of this until watching this movie.
When the Seal Team 6 confirmed that they had actually killed THE Osama Bin Laden, they already had a preplanned code word....
"For God and Country... Geronimo!"
I instantly knew what context it meant, and a flood of emotions swept over me that I still cannot explain to this day.
Great acting, honest story telling... as honest as a movie can get... telling the tale of how very hard it was to track do the man responsible for 9/11, and the focus, determination, and sacrifice for all those involved.
Great reactions as always!
Two suggestions:
13 Hours
Kilo Two Bravo
I rode bus 10 in London, 30 days before the terrorist attack, it puts things into perspective
Great movie. Very underrated. Historically accurate too
Asia was just pissed because the jump scares didn't allow her to get the hand goggles ready and to prep for the scares. :)
Also the helicopter didn't mess up. It got into it's own recycled air which doesn't produce lift well. Lift is what keeps aircraft in the air. The helicopter either got into a vortex ring state (VRS) or something called "settling with power". As in the pilot didn't reduce the lift he is commanding and can even greatly increase what he is asking of the helicopter but it lost lift anyways hence the crash.
When this went down it happened a LOT faster than what you see on the screen. It makes perfect sense though because if they showed it at real speed you'd have to watch it over and over again just to understand what is going on. It wouldn't have been entertaining but confusing to the audience and the film makers don't want to confuse people. The key to something like this is speed of violence. The longer you take to clear the place out the more time they have to set up a defense or get weapons. You catch them with their pants down and do it fast you can get missions like this where all of the good guys go home and the bad guys don't.
If you like gritty movies, you have to watch Sicario. Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro are in the movie. Two of my favorite actors. It’s a rough one but so good and extremely intense.
Emotions are so heavy with this, a hell of a movie. If you need a bit of emotional relief, I recomend WTF starring Tina Fey and Martin Freeman, same country, lighter story.
Somebody was turning their head the other away, that he could have a compound like that where it was located. Thanks for sharing this.
I had just graduated high school when 9-11 happened. Will never forget the sequence of events of that day. Learned of what was going on when i turned on my radio at 6am while laying in bed. Turned on the TV, and just as the picture came on, the 2nd plane hit. I didn't even know what to say or think. It was at that time, even for just a little while, America banded together as one people. Another really good movie based on a true story is the Clint Eastwood directed film, American Sniper with Bradley Cooper.
Your reaction to this movie is different from others I have seen. Because you know the circumstances your focus is so much more intense. Loved it, Crazy how she went from covering her eyes at the beginning to nudging for a second hard punch. "you lie to me I hurt you"
Highly recommend Molly's Game, Interstellar, The Martian, The Help for more Jessica Chastain. Crazy talented AND she's beautiful! Another movie with a very similar vibe to this - Sicario.
Great reaction. 9/11 is my birthday when it happened I had plans to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. I canceled my plans that day I couldn't celebrate my birthday. It was one of the saddest day.
Genius idea to put the movie posters up for the movies you’ve seen, reacted to and liked.
It’s helpful knowledge when it comes to future suggestions and discussions.
Just wanted to say Thank You for that and they look great.
I was serving previous to 9/11, but watched it happen as everyone else did live on TV ... My entire Career/life after that point was Bin Laden focused. It was our mission. I did my service in the sandbox and after I came home it wasnt long after that Our night was interrupted by the greatest news we could have .. We got him! Will never forget.
I was in the service when we got Bin Laden. That was a big day. Was watching Monday night baseball and the news came on the TV.
I absolutely love you two! I have a suggestion for a great movie for you. It's called Sleepers. Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt and Kevin Bacon are in it. Four young boys are sent to a boys detention and it tells of what happened to them there and consequences of what happens there. Great movie. Thanks for all you do.
I'm so glad to see that a big channel reacted to this movie. The subject matter is messed up but I feel like they made this the right way
Ive seen this , movie Jessica Chastain is a NEXT level actress!! I've begged you all before to watch her in the movie AVA and THE 355!! y'all definitely would love those movie's
As someone whos done a lot of personal research on what happens at the end - yes that helicopter crash was not intended. I forget the technical term of what happened but there was something with the literal air that night that caused it to crash in the courtyard. Something like a warm air pocket/funnel that spun up and messed with the rotors then it crashed. Supposedly one of the guys on the ground was very close to the impact and almost got clipped.
What they also don't show is when they're carrying the body out to the chopper that's taking them away, one of the guys was real short (like under 5'9) and kept tripping and falling because the field was farmed and they were in a rush before the Pakistanis could respond to get in and get home. The other guy on the end of the body bag was much, much taller.
BJ that scene with the helicopters happened because that is when we found out that we has stealth copters and the ONLY reason we did is because one crashed. I guarantee if it hadn't crashed they would have said that they used regular UH-60's or blackhawk helicopters!
Omg!
I am so glad they took down the exorcist photo in the background!
Hated that sooooooo much
Hahaha
I remember that day, more importantly because it was on my birthday. They got USA enemy number one, on my birthday. And the news broadcasts that followed. The constant chants of “USA USA!!!” It still makes me emotional to this day. Everyone was American that day. No division between party lines, just Americans celebrating
She was also really good in Molly's Game, movie was excellent.
This was the last movie I've seen in a movie theater. I remember when the movie ended, you could hear a pin drop nobody spoke a word, everyone just stood up and left. It was quite chilling.
You should watch Munich (2005). Munich is one of Spielberg's absolute best movies.
One thing that grinds my gears about this movie is that they’re shouting during the raid.
I think this is the first time I've seen BJ without a hat.
Thank you for presenting this move. Your commentary demonstrates that both of you are true patriots who hate blatant evil.
Love this movie! Very enlightening!
Thanks for doing one of my top 5 all-time movies. A lot of people alive now never experienced 9-11 and how we all felt watching those towers falling. And a lot of people who were alive have moved on mentally and emotionally but for me the righteous anger is as strong today as it was then. Geronimo! For God and country.
Unthinkable is a great movie you should review:)

Was on a popular website that night and someone posted a link to a forum he was on and a Pakistani kid was posting something big happening down the street from him...helicopter crash, gunshots explosions etc...literally had a front row seat as he watched out his window and posted updates
Sad thing is a lot of the people on the ground were killed because of this op, someone release the names.
great movie tho
Love this film
Also, fun fact: the scene where they're blasting that screaming metal music during the torture of that detainee is a very common torture technique. The American government used it against its own citizens (including women and children) during the siege of the Branch Davidians in Waco. They played the sound of rabbits being tortured, the shrill screams, night and day. But that's none of MY business 😒
JAMES GANDOLFINI PLAYS A FUNNY GENERAL IN SATIRE "IN THE LOOP" FUNNNNY FILM!!!!👍👍👍
He plays a great dramatic general in " The Last Castle"
Yoooo man looks 5 years younger without the lid
You know when i first this and even now seeing with you guys was so surreal and mind numbing knowing that this really happened, knowing what it meant, what it stood for. Bj, you hit the nail on the head.....she found her needle. I remember this story unfolding and the world got the news...it was incredible...great reaction guys as always keep it up.
My heart goes to our military, all the first responders and civilians that risked and gave their lives during this whole ordeal...not too mention every single victim and their families
Good movie, but take the raid scene at the end with a grain of salt. The SEALS who went on the raid stated that if they did in real life what was shown in this movie, they'd all be dead lol.
My husband came out of the war with ptsd. The amount of ptsd interrogators must have is incomprehensible. We always say we can't even imagine the chemical imbalance caused to the brain. My husband can't watch this movie. I have watched it many times. It's so good. Very well done film. If you want to watch more films about 9/11, I highly suggest United 93 and World Trade Center (about the firefighters who were trapped under the rubble).
I have a friend that had to do this type of interrogation, it hurt her. Military official records said she died of “non-combative weapons discharge “. RIP Peters, we’ll always have Belgium.
Was she the interrogator or the terrorist?

I didn't realize that Chris Pratt was one of the SEALs the first time I saw this movie. Granted he was most well known for playing Andy on Parks and Rec at the time.
Mike Colter was also one of the SEALs, he played Netflix Luke Cage and live-action Spartan Locke (appearance only for Halo 5).
I was so on edge when I first watched this movie, literally felt like I was right there conducting the raid with those elite soldiers
US NAVY SEALs (not soldiers) they work in the shadows, where nobody else dares to tread.
Thank y’all for watching this masterpiece. It was a nail biting experience even for us who lived and the whole war. Great movie!!
Love the channel!! ❤️ can’t wait to watch this when I get home ❤️❤️
I went to the Twin Towers site 2 years after 9/11 -it was still smoking, and smelled like death. The 'feel' there was beyond horrible; it kind of made me a little sick to my stomach.
Asia and BJ, “Area 51”, instead of being a place where UFOs are stored, is in reality the site of HAVE Blue (the F-117 Stealth Fighter project) and CONSTANT Peg, where US fighter pilots flew captured Russian aircraft to develop intelligence on their performance characteristics, which informed TOPGUN instructors how to mimic enemy tactics.
Pakistanians? Asia love, the nomenclature is Pakistanis. I was raised in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Northern England. Half my pals at school were from this region. Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans and Afghanis. Great food.
I love this movie! Great reaction team and whenever i see this movie pop up and its Americans doing it i always feel it holds more power and emotions because it was your country that it effected the most. Keep up the great work peeps ❤
Great reaction, just like always! For whatever its worth, I also jumped at all of the surprise explosions 😅 Definitely one of my favorite films!
Thank you, Asia & BJ for another great reaction! And Asia, I love listening to your insight about the film during your outro. Because being in a special forces unit has to be the ultimate in teamwork. You have the total trust in your team members, brothers if you will, that surround you.
